Very rare 6 engine mixed freight seen on the Union Pacific Kansas subdivision. The train was heading eastbound towards Lawrence Kansas. Train was filmed at the grade crossing on Philips Road just off US-24, a few miles away from Lawrence KS

7:30 PM west bound Union Pacific double stack intermodal seen running outside Lawrence Kansas towards Topeka. The leader, UP 5547, is seen leading this train past Philips Road just off of US-24 just outside Williams Town.

BNSF double stack intermodal train headed east on the BNSF southern transcon. For the entire duration of this train CPKC was having its golden spike tour and one of its stops was Union Station in Kansas City Missouri. The train was filmed at 1:04PM at the edge of the station property in KC MO

2 stack trains were caught at the exact same time, one going westbound and one going east bound on BNSF’s southern transcon. Train one lead by all BNSF units, and the other lead by 2 BNSF units and a ferromex ACE. Trains were filmed on south Louisiana road just outside Ottawa ks

This looks like the abandoned section that went to the Achison swing bridge which crossed the Missouri River. (Achison is birthplace of Amelia Earhart) Both ends of this section are active lines still but must be competing lines since there doesn't seem to be another connecting spur in the area. (or possibly the local businesses that used the rails no longer need them.)
That’s because that’s literally where this is, we just didn’t go to the swing bridge, I’ve spent quite a lot of time in atchison over the last few years

The railroad probably decided it wasn't worth rebuilding the rail line . If you were to watch videos here on RUclips of washouts beginning and then spread out taking the ballast and washing it down stream . Theres probably another connection to get to the other end of that rail line . When railroads merge they will abandon rail lines that run close to each other . I worked for Union Pacific Railroad on the rail trains and we picked up a lot of rail lines that were not needed . That rail line y'all were on is welded rail so it was a good railroad with a lot of traffic . If you look at it again look at the rail for a date on the rail . There will be a year and has marks that indicate what month the rail was made . You might not really notice but there are low areas that flood and cause washouts . Cool video .
Thanks man, I never knew that, I saw on a forum somewhere that in 2017 BNSF put it in their rehabilitation program or something, but it’s 2024 and nothing

That caboose was sitting in lawrence for a long time, then they moved it to Topeka next to the Amtrak station

Very nice catch! I was surprised at first: I thought, "single stack?" But then they doubled up, lol. A lot of the intermodal in my area are single-stack, cuz there's a tunnel in Baltimore with a low roof (though it's being enlarged). Thanks for sharing!
