I was scratching my head for a while when I did my '23 Forester myself for the first time, because that access panel wasn't attached. I thought where in the world is this thing? I had taken it to shops for the first few cycles, and it's apparently common for shops to just leave them off. So one of them took my access panel 🤨

Do not use the GL5 oil recommended in this video! Read the back of the bottle, it says "Not for synchronized transmissions"!!!

Great Video! Mine was most likely an after market drain plug, it was a 19 mm

I assume you are using the GL-4 version of this Brand because there are sycro's in that transmission! would not want the additive to pit and erode them into the oil. Unfortunately I am not able to find this brand you are using in other than Gl-5 in my area.

I did exactly what you said not to do, also I had on short ramps so I had to actually start the vehicle to get it in reverse to back it off into the garage just as I was getting to shut off it began to shudder. Great video! Thx. I have a '20 titan SL 4x4. I didn't realize it uses. Torx screws for the skid pkate.. Since oil changes are expensive these days,I'm changing my own oil to dave some 'change.

Thanks for the post. If you ever do a remake of this video, make sure to remember that torquing to spec if key, make sure to say to hand thread the bolts and screws back in to avoid stripping your threads and to make sure that the old oil filter’s gasket is not in the oil filter hole. Just a recommendation
