Troubadour compilation

I recorded "Troubadour" in Nashville TN with producers Tony Oxendine and Ted Lizotte. I asked my friends to record videos or audio if they used my song at a dance. This video is a small compilation of my Caller brothers, Philip Kamm (in Germany), Charlie Robertson (in Oklahoma) and me and Tony Oxendine (in North Carolina) singing "Troubadour". It is absolutely amazing hearing other callers sing...

Square Dance Callers, Talking with guest Curt Braffet
Просмотров 1425 месяцев назад
curtbraffet.com/ Curt began dancing in 1972 and didn’t catch the calling bug until 1985. Once he started, it didn’t take long before his calling took off. With the help of his father Pat, Charley Engelhardt, and Brad Carter, Curt quickly honed his skills and became very popular where-ever he called. A dancer once said about Curt - “He takes the same old call and makes it look different while ke...

Great interview! Loved the fish story in HI!
Nice job Renee. Of course I would have expected no less from you. Charlie, you picked a winner here.
@DarylClendenin thank you sir. I had a great time talking with Renee
Charlie, the Thumbs up button is not working? Any way Thumbs up!
@davidwilliams912 thanks, I'll see what the issue is.
I just did a search on "Music for Callers" for Troubadour and nothing came up.
Great video, Charlie! I love Philip Kamm’s plus figures and the cool lyrics Charlie Robertson added. There is some amazing talent in this clever compilation. You and the TOTL Recordings crew did such an incredible job with this George Strait classic. So good. One of the best singing calls out there. Oh, and how did it feel to have the greatest square dance caller in the world - Tony Oxendine - sing backup for you? Way to go!
Are you going to the 74TH NSDC in Shreveport Louisianna?
@davidwilliams912 I am going. Probably get in a couple days earlier for GSI School also.
@@SquareDanceCallersTalking Good I"d like to meet you! I really enjoy your Caller Talk podcasts!
@@davidwilliams912 looking forward to meeting you, thanks
Hi Gary what a surprise I just called this up and there you are.
Curt is the best in the business!! Hands down!
Our club well be starting new classes in September. We’re having trouble getting people to come. Any suggestions?
Just curious as to what happened to Don Bachelder' s interview?
Inspirational words regarding folding clubs and being the little red hen!!
I know nothing about square dancing but found the conversation between guest Mark Franks and the host fascinating. I will now have a new found respect for square dancing. Bernard Krieg
@bernardkrieg7188 thanks for watching, and commenting. Glad you enjoyed it.
I know this video is about the callers but in many of the clips the camera is zoomed in on the caller. Hearing the caller is the important thing, watching the dancers dance to his or her calling would be a lot more interesting thing to show in the videos.
Thanks for sharing your Day and Experience!
@davidwilliams912 Thank you for watching
Thanks for making these podcasts, Charlie, especially this one! The mountain of knowledge that Teresa and Ted possess is well worth the listen. Also, I always enjoy Ted's sense of humor and Teresa's enthusiasm!
@@Roustabout23 they are the Dynamic Duo! 😊
Great video friend.
Yup you nailed it
Soo, on behalf of all of us that couldn't make it, for whatever reasons, THANK YOU for sharing! What a blast it must have been!
@kcallander989 thanks for watching. For me, it was a week of good times, Calling and dancing. Hope you can make it to Shreveport LA. Next year.
Probably not, but planning on going to Waco!!! Texas is our heart home!
Loved this interview with Elaine Mikenas, Charlie, and thank you for doing it. Elaine called for us in Long Key and was terrific as was Dennis. Elaine had so much to share and got a lot of information out there that others can use to grow their dances and calling. Charlie this is a great way to promote square dancing. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
@sylviakaplan1646 thank you so much for saying this. I really enjoy talking to all the other callers, and it is a lot of fun having them tell their stories.
What a lovely lady - hope to dance to your themes one day :)
Great Job Elaine always enjoy being at your place.
Pity the sound isn´t the best, can hardly hear Dave
Dancing is SO much fun when you're calling! 🥰
Best caller ever! ❤️

Go Steve! Moves like Jagger is my fav
I have several singing calls and a partter I've had signed, including one of Darrens.
Woohoo!
Lol
He did a great job
I have known Darren for 35+years!
Good job, Leo. It feels like the square dance & round dance community is finally recovering from COVID shutting us down for so long.
🤣 'Promosm'
I think SSD is a bad idea.
Nice Plus - singing Call!
That was fun to listen too. She is a tough one. I loved it.
That was delightful! 🤗💕

I enjoyeed the podcast.
Thank you
it would really helpful if you could share a clip of your guest so we could hear what they sound like
Love that so many people have watched the Real Housewives of Square Dancing!! ❤️❤️
It sounds like the name is "Royal Housewives of Square Dance."
There was some talk but Ted confirmed he first called them Real Housewives 😊
Since before I was born. Love it
Bryan is a good friend and he is a great caller
Great podcast, Steve
Love your interviews. Enjoy getting to know the callers. Would love to see a video of the caller that you are talking with.
Enjoying your interview. I live out in the sticks. Love square dancing. Closest club is 40 miles away. Next is another 50 miles away. To be honest our club is struggling. Hard to find new students. I would love to see our club grow. Can you give me some advice into drawing new people. Thanks
Super start to the year! Congrats on a wonderful calling career, Ted. Thank you for all your contributions and leadership. This was a gem of an episode filled with priceless advice. And keep those get-outs coming! :-)
