Wow, Andrew, this is so beautiful. Fantastic voice, so simple and yet so full of emotion. I'd love to learn to play this song, would you help me out a bit? It looks like a back and forth between D and G6, but then there's something in between I can't figure out. And are you using a nonstandard tuning on this live version?
Thank you so much for the kind words! Absolutely, I have always played this one in standard tuning. It’s mostly a D2 chord and adding different bass notes: D2, D2/G, D2/B. There’s also an Em7 and D2/F#. I play the open A string sometimes with the D2 for some variation. I tend to mute the high E string quite a bit when I’m playing these kinds of chords.
