Great overview! I just finally broke down and paid the $36.99 Amazon price, which hadn't budged. As you noted, nine serials and the most content yet for a set. I realized I paid this same price for McCoy's first season with four mediocre serials. I am sure this Hartnell set will bring many times over the enjoyment of McCoy's set, so here we go! On the Beatles clip being cut, it's frustrating but not a dealbreaker. You'd think Paul M. could have just given his okay, but I'm sure it's more complicated than that. Hopefully a Troughton set is coming soon!

I also bought this packaging when it first came out and I also prefer it over the newer releases they have done. What I mainly like about these season boxed sets is they put the discs in separate trays. Now when it's repackaged sets they stack the discs on top of each other and I don't like that.

I'm happy with this. TUM was supposed to be animated back when episode 2 was found. It is finally getting the justice it deserves a d this story is a favourite of mine. The DVD recon was poor quality too. The Celestial Toymaker should be prioritised next. But with this we are done to 2 season 4 episodes and 1 from the other seasons bar episode 3. With Animations returning if we have the a similiar thing with 2 being worked on in a year I'd like to see a season 3 plus another story to complete a season. After this I'd say Toymaker and Highlanders (so season 4 is down to 1 story). Marco and Master Plan will probably be the last 2 done.

If this is put into a sony player that upscales will it go to full screen? I have had DVDs that are blocked and it will not go to full screen. Examples are Johnny quest seanon 1 regular DVD and Mission impossible fill the screen on a 4k tv. space 1999 and Johnny season 1 blueray doesn't the black bars won't go away. I'm using the Sony - UBP-X800M2 - Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-Ray Player will this DVD set go full screen? I hope you can answer this question and your a good reviewer.

Season 1 or season 6 are most likely for the next black and white season. I think we will get 1 black and white season a year going forward with season 3 left until last. Anyone’s guess about which of 1 or 6. 1 would make a lot of sense because it’s the 60th, 6 would make a lot of sense because we haven’t had a Troughton yet.

I found it spookier in black and white. More imaginative. Used to frighten crap outa me especially Cybermen and ice creatures. It worked better with an older Doctor. I liked the Celestial Toyroom.
