Wow, my Rhodonite Genuine does not granulate at all. The website says it does not granulate. Pigment: Genuine Rhodonite | Series: 2 Lightfastness: I - Excellent, : my opinion....'> ''''NOT" Transparency: Transparent Staining: 2-Low Staining Granulation: Non-Granulating. But I certainly see yours granulating. Interesting! I LOVE reds! I adore Quin Coral or all PR209s in any brand. Its warm but has this glowing pink undertone. No other pigment has this in between shifting warm cool affect. Its magical to me. Thanks for sharing your reds. Sorry for my late viewing. PS, according to independent sources who tested this product, Rhodonite Genuine is not very lightfast. DS doesn't have the best reputation on product honesty.

I know this video is a year old, but I thought I would share with you that the little removable cup in the middle is meant to be taken out and the tab on the straight side fits in the slot on either side of the palette, depending on whether you are right or left handed, and used as a water cup when you are plein air painting. That's why it's separate from the palette. Also, you should be able to pull on the lip across that empty space and pull out another mixing tray from under the main palette. You pull it gently out and it stops itself before it goes too far. I've had this palette for years and love it, although I used the paints up, I've replaced them with professional paints, a combo of Daniel Smith and Winsor & Newton. I would be interested to know if your palette has the same pull out mixing tray.

Great mixing video! I have the Rosa mono pigmented set of 21. I’ve made one painting so far. A male bull finch eating seeds off a dried sunflower. I mixed my own coral for the breast, and black grey for other feathers. Ive been slowly buying more Rosa pans. On a different note, a while back the I was bitten by the love bug for Rust. I’ve made various mixes to create different tones. (I wrote them all down, on scrap paper, that is somewhere 😁) I found out that PO 48 is discontinued. (2 years ago!) so I bought a few pans of PO 48 Roman Szmal quinacradone burnt sienna, and 2 tubes of quinacradone Rust from m. Graham. It might have been a panic purchase. But I’ve still been experimenting with mixing my own rust. I agree that Rosa Gallery paints are the quiet paints that are some times are overlooked. Sorry for the “novel” here!

Thanks for watching this old video which is very outdated and the information on my end has changed! I would pick up the Rosa Gallery Monopigmented set from Amazon amzn.to/3XcveYH. I threw these old smelly paints away and invested in others.

I am shocked how vibrant the reds are! I have been spending too much on M. Graham and W&N. Can you comment on the granularity of the reds? I see purple, blues and greens are quite granular. Umbers also because of the nature of the chemical.

I noticed your watercolour swatch book. I have seen them on sale on Aliexpress. I am wondering how good is the paper. It is comparable to Baohong paper for CP textured 140lb watercolour paper. Does it warp with wet on wet, pill, lift well etc.? Can you put swatches on the back of the paper or is it one-sided? I am also looking to purchase some Rosa Gallery paints open stock in tubes. What do think about the cobalt turquoise? Is it close to cobalt teal? If the cobalt paint is good then it is an unbelievable price as they are a series 3 paints.

I just watched your last vid,, finding your style', (You are brand new to me and that was the 1st one I watched) and commented that I loved that tree! I also said that I was going to check out your channel. Lo and behold right next to that vid was the one for that tree! I'm so excited and am going to try today. I was also excited that as a super newbie to art that I have the Arteza set and some Tombows. I wish you had mentioned the colors for the Arteza pens as I'm terrible at choosing suitable color combos. Maybe you did and I just don't recognize the colors? My supplies are relatively new. I would love the landscape set but a bit pricey at the moment for me. Thanks so much for sharing this. I sub'd. :)

I'm a newbie of a couple of years and really struggling. I loved that tree you did. I watched it 10 times to figure out how you did that....have never seen one look like that one on all the hundreds of vids that I've watched. I have yet to paint the center of a sunflower like your because I don't know how to do that center. I have tried to just play as you all say but I seem to get nowhere so constantly trying to copy tutorials to learn. I am 76 and have other hobbies, I'm good at them, learned the skills but I'd reached a point where I needed to explore something else and fell in love with the look of wc. I've never in my life done art, not even doodling believe it or not LOL. I had my crayons and coloring books as a kid for while (I stayed in the lines) but that is not something I'm interested in. Well, this channel just showed up today and I'm impressed so going to go check out your other vids. I clicked like. Thanks much for sharing this :)

Thank you for sharing your art bag I also think it reminds me of a fly fishing bag which I find lovely, I bought my husband a small zipper tech bag from walmart to carry his phone chargers and headphones and connectors but he didnt like it so I got to upcycle use it for my go to art supplies, maybe a bic 4 color retractable ball pen you can pic one up a walmart it has 4 different colors in one pen and if you just want to doodle or such you have for colors pens in one pen. Maybe a few neo color 2 like five colors you could carry them in a altoids empty tin. Maybe also some glitter jelly roll pens, that way you could do same sketches but challenge your yourself to thumbnails sketches in different art supplies. I really enjoyed Video found it interesting and sometimes you just want to be creative and fun with a few pgs in sketch book.

Thank you Denise for helping me understand all the information on this palette, and showing me other things that matter--like how it moves even in such a small square! I purchased it because it did receive good reviews as professional paint and it was really the only one I could find in my snack bracket. I'm 6 months into watercolour classes and now online tutorials and these paints made all the difference in me finding pleasure in learning to paint. Watching you use the diary and annotate each swatch is fantastic. I now understand the value of the diary and will get one going for myself to learn more about my paints and how to work with them. I came across this you tube doing research on reviews of the Princeton Snap, only just entering the water colour art world and was reluctant to spend big dollars as a first time venture, thank you I can now comfortably purchase them for a starter.

Ty so much! So when the watercolor book I’m learning from suggests I use phthalo blue red shade as the blue for a project, I now understand why. Of course, I don’t actually own any phthalo blue. But I do have a couple different brands of ultramarine. Do you think I might get away with using an ultramarine instead? After all, my purpose is not perfection but to learn and enjoy the experience. Not spend more on supplies if I don’t have to. 😊❤
