my first EP 'life:cycles 01' is out on 12AM January 11.

every song was live performed and recorded.
last 2 years I spent a lot of time with a model:cycles, 6-track groovebox, and post that footage as 'model:cycles challenge' on RUclips.
I'm going to re-arrange and re-recording those challenges and release as a series of 'life:cycles' through this year.
for the first one I picked up 6 wintery songs.

it's been a while, how are you. I've been trying recorings these days for mini album. I wanted to release this year but now it's impossible. but it won't takes long until it comes please looking forward to it. in this challenge I use only tone machines for all 6 tracks. i like the tender sounds of this machine.

I went to Thom Yorke solo concert last week, that was amazing night. I was inspired by his some dusty sounds so try to make that kind of sound in this challenge. Snare machine and Kick machine are good for it. it's getting so cold, take care of your hangnails!

I've have sleep disorders again these days and feel sad for nothing. maybe it's because of winter season. hi it's been a while how have you been? I've been busy, tried to make a new song and recording old songs for album but couldn't neither. and managed to finish this song. influenced by a song "Circle" by SPECIAL OTHERS, Japanese band. I tried to imitate melodica. I hope you like this and doing well.

I watched fireworks, which is called Hanabi in Japanese, from my balcony with my wife last week. it's our first time to watch it since we moved to this house. that was nice time and Hanabi was incredible.

I've seen it on Tidal, I like it a lot, to me it conveys a timeless and happy mood. Tidal supports 24-bit/48kHz streaming

Do you go straight into the compressor with M:C? How do you record it after that? Thanks in advance.

Absolutely love these chilled tunes. Do you program the melodies via step recording or live recording using a keyboard? They have a very expressive, human feel that I'm having difficulty getting out of the cycles.
@@agentshillbot thank you so much! I always program via live recording but without keyboard, just push the 16 mini buttons at the bottom😂I can't play the piano and don't know much about scales...

great stuff...got my cycles a few weeks ago and still trying to figure out how to make a similar lead (on t2) like the one that comes in at 0:40. sounds beautiful
@@nova2wl thank you! I use tone machine for the sound and settings below: COLOR 1.000 Shape 0-40 SWEEP 15 CONTOUR 0-40 I frequently use tone machine for analog-like sounds and set the COLOR at 1.000. I interpret SHAPE is a filter, SWEEP is a treble eq and CONTOUR is sustain of adsr. have a good time with your m:c!

bpm is about 120 i think(i don't remember actual bpm). if you feel it's too fast, turning down the video speed x0.5-0.75 may helps you!

You're the only person I've seen that's makes this thing sound good. You get great tones and you create really nice music. I have yet to find another creator that gets good sounds out of the model:cycles. This is great though.

Very mellow and melodic- sounds a bit like a handpan drum. Everyone has a different approach to the Model Cycles, it's an amazing instrument- even though it's considerably less versatile than the Digitone I think the simplicity is it's strength, it gives space for lots of live tweaking rather than menu-diving. Of course, it still has than fabulous Elektron sequencer.
