Porsche 944 Turn Signal Upgrade (LASFIT T3 LED Amber)
Просмотров 323Месяц назад
This video is meant to simply demonstrate how the new bulbs compare to the old ones. I am changing my tail light housings and needed Amber bulbs to match and since I have had good experience with LASFIT products I ordered these Amber signals. As many of you know LED turn signals can cause hyper flashing issues etc. To answer your questions simply: YES I am running LEDs on all four Turn Signal p...

I like the amber look. May need to steal that idea, Great work!
@@ShopDogGarage Thanks man, loving your channel so far too! Keep it up 👍🏻
Loved the video…especially when I saw beautiful 944’s in the mix. I inherited a pristine 944 from my late father-in-law that I have spent $$$ getting it back into mechanically perfect condition, and I love driving that classic…but sadly it’s ignored by both the Porsche clubs (911 people) and the Porsche repair shops (Oh we don’t work on those 🤨🤨).
You’re absolutely correct. Sometimes I consider it a gift and a curse, because while it’s difficult to accommodate them professionally, the fact that they are overlooked keeps entry prices down and that’s what truly allows people like me at least some sort of gateway into the brand. But those of us who actually own and drive them know… they’re fantastic cars, and extremely capable.
Looks fun. No 951s?..yeller rs looked groovy. 👍
Need more turbos!
Great stuff! Nice to see some transaxle cars in that group, yours included.
Glad you enjoyed!

@@the_dude1953 I need to do an update video covering the whole car!
Whats that hole in the intake plenum? Plastic head lights are cashed. Cool car though.
That’s a great question I have no idea what that hole is.

Do you have any suggestions for a young buyer looking to purchase a 944 as their first project car? I am currently stuck trying to convince my parents to let me purchase one. I am not your average consumer, I want a "project", and am actively seeking out something that I can work on and learn from. I have been actively saving for the last couple of years with this car in mind. Additionally, I have easy access to other forms of transportation in the case that the 944 would be down needing work (probably a lot). I also have the space to work on it if need be. Any suggestions/words of wisdom would be appreciated.
@@HolyShambler064 check out the playlists on my channel, I’ve got a solid 2 hours of content covering that very subject! 👍🏻 If you need any links let me know I’m happy to provide them
Guards red? I had a 87 fiero gt fast back painted Porsche guards red.
Best color!
Did you keep the relay in that supports the LEDs? I got the impression the LasFits don't need them. Edit: I originally missed yiur comment at the end about this. I look forward to seeing a comment about trying the bukbs with the regular relay.
The relay that I have in the car “claims” to be compatible with both but it’s extremely cheap. I’m gonna try an old school normal relay first, and then if that doesn’t work I’ll see if maybe a higher quality LED relay will do a better job. I think the reason it works totally fine with the hazards is because the bulb inside the hazard switch is filament and it’s acting like that extra bit of resistance the signal bulbs need. The one thing that is nice at least is I didn’t have to fiddle with resistors for it to be in this state which is still relatively functioning well.
Video appreciated, and thanks for the to the point objective comments. :)
No problem thank you very much for watching 👍🏻
Let there be more light.

Atleast the painted the valve cover the right colour! Normally they’re repainted beige instead of silver
Thanks for the heads up! I had come across that site, but wasn’t sure. Glad to know they’re legit!
I respect the work that went into the car, but it's a little too blingy for me. And the fact they removed the pop-up headlights is a tragedy IMHO.
@@fxeditor1138 Love it or hate it it just makes me happy to see something different. Especially when it comes to 944s. I’d love to see more people go all out on their 944 whatever that might look like. He for sure needs some new lenses for the GTS lights. I love the popups but I won’t lie the GTS/ Carrera GT cars look so so tough with the pop up delete.
@@TakeFlightGarage I don't hate what he did at all (except perhaps the lights). Even though it's not my thing, I too love seeing people express their creativity in the customization of thier cars. And, you are of course correct. There's no denying the 924 GTs is ultra badass! 👍👍

Groovy lights..whats that rattling noise coming from the exhaust pipe.
@@Workerbee-zy5nx thanks bee, nothing to be concerned about, I’m just missing the hangar in the middle so the exhaust tends to be a little loose at idle. When I bite the bullet on headers I’ll address it 👍🏻
@TakeFlightGarage Ah, ok. Lately I've been paranoid of anything car related.👍

Literally the best looking tail lights for the Porsche 944
I completely agree they look so good. Completely freshens up the rear end 🔥

Is your vehicle LED all around already? We produce LEDs for auto as well, And we'd love to invite you as a collaborator to do a review for our product
While I appreciate the offer, at this time I must respectfully decline. I have purchased your products previously and have returned them because I was not satisfied, and I cannot in good faith to my viewers accept sponsorship from a brand I would not personally spend my own money on. LASFIT does not currently sponsor me, and everything I have purchased for this car has been out of my own pocket, without assistance from anyone.
Big improvement! What turn signal relay did you use?
@@leroymonson8122 just a generic sylvania LED compatible turn signal relay you can pick up from any local auto parts store, they should be about $13

No old car is a money pit if you love it. Things need to be changed out, they have OLD parts. If you love the car and like improving it, then its a win. No one else matters
@@billm83army Exactly!
Good video, and good advice to change one thing at a time during diagnosis. Nice upgrades to the vehicle - MAF and Ftech9 DME and solid state fuel pump relays are great upgrades. Staying with Fuchs is important - light weight magnesium wheels are hard to beat.

It doesn't have to be you can buy smart and get a really good car I have $10,000 in my 944 worth $4,000 before the motor exploded at 85mph because I saw the overpriced 300,000 mile 16 owner rust belt 944 that was weirdly optioned and decided I want it 20 years of abuse and all. Do I regret any of the purchases no I would do it again the car is fun to drive I took something that should have been a parts car and put it back on the road and i'm proud of it in a way.

Hi. Love the ch. keep it up❤❤ Also I have an 87 924s with the motor from earlier 944. And similar if not the same ECU DME unit I have a question about how to actually plug in the ECU. I think I’m trying to plug it in straight in. And it needs to be kinda seated in one corner while angling down the other corner into place. Nobody on RUclips shows the plugging in process for these older Porsches. They show a lot of the ECU stuff but that’s something I missed when I last tried to start my car. I wasn’t sure how to plug that in. 🤷♂️
Yes you are correct, there is a plastic notch that needs to be slotted at a bit of an angle first, then you connect the other side and should hear and audible *click* as the metal tab closes around the harness plug. The harness plug should seat fully into the DME socket. Make sure you’re plugging it in in the correct orientation and not upside down, the plug can only go in one way.
I too. Love this. ❤❤❤
