Yeah. You got the dining car and a snack car, while those going to StL and Chicago (month + a fww days before your posted date) were stuck with snacks or dinner on a paper plate in their bedroom/roomette, but it was night.

If I ever do visit there... The buffet (especially that one) will be my first to visit.

Oh, hell... I am literally gettin' hungry already. I will go and check that place out if I ever visit Mississippi again.

I had an awesome experience with the southbound City of New Orleans, where I spent a few fabulous days exploring the French Quarter. I then boarded the Sunset Ltd to California for a few days in Los Angeles. Next, I was on the California Zephyr back to Chicago. Thanks Amtrak Vacations for setting it all in motion. I had a great time. My next trip will be to explore Canada now that the border is open after the pandemic.

Same as Vegas. Way over the top atmosphere for fried food that’s overrated and overpriced. Bring back the days of small diner atmosphere with the waitress yelling and plates clanking in a crowded exciting atmosphere. The food was cheaper and better.

That was C&G Grille! Fried catfish and french fries. SO GOOD!
