HOW MANY MORE YEARS (HOWLIN' WOLF COVER)
I played this with Herbie Hancock - Chameleon of background and it sounds freakin awesome
Phenomenal playing!
🙏🙏
Your vibrato is stellar. It reminds me of Chris Michilek with your own flair. It’s so smooth and sweet sounding. 👏
Thanks! The late Chris Michalek was a genius ❤
Awesome🎉
🙏
Superb.
🙏
👏👏👏👏🔥🎶
This is beautiful. I danced and I haven’t danced in years
🙏🙏
A wonderful harp tune! Great to hear you play again ~
🙏🙏
good to see you back sir... love from turkey...<3
Much appreciated 🙏
Amazing. Maintaining the guitar work and adding syncopated harmonica on top is incredible. 👏
Thanx 🙏
Great playing. Did you find the tuning pretty intuitive to play or did it take some time to get acclimated? I’m trying to choose between one of these and the Wilde tuning.
Thanks! I guess it's a matter of personal preferences, but of the Powerbender, Powerdraw, Wilde Rock and Wilde Minor, I find the Powerbender the most intuitive overall. At least when it comes to playing major pentatonic phrases in 2. position (and minor in 5. position). The Wild Minor is great for, eh, minor playing in 2 position, but works best for the low tunings (from A and downwards).
Killed it brother. I’m trying to make my mind up between the Wilde tuning or the powerbender. You make a good case for powerbender. Very nice stuff
Killin it. I’m considering dropping the money on a powerbender…. Is this one of the Seydels? Also did you have to tweak anything to get everything to function? Sounds amazing
Thanx 🙏 It's a Seydel Session Steel in Powerbender tuning. No tweaking 😉
@@RichardGjems awesome thanks. I saw one guy said his powerbender session steel had issues so I wanted to check with someone who obviously can play the tuning. Thanks for your reply
@@RichardGjemsI ended up getting the 1847. All bends work great except 9&10 but that may be me. I have to get used to bending the high notes probably. Love the tuning
@@cincinnatipedalsteel4347 Great! 9 &10 might be tricky to hit with good intonation, especially with higher pitched harps
Ohhh yeah 🤘😎 🔥 Sounds good
Thanx!
just made a trap beat sampling this shit
🙏🙏
Nicely done and waiting for next one.love learning them brother so don’t stop👍
Much appreciated 🙏 Will make a new one soon
You took that to some interesting places. Well played.
Much appriciated 🙏 Heavily inspired by the great Richard Hunter 🎶🎶
Can this also be possible in my c tremolo harmonica?
Only if it's in solo tuning ;-)
Nice! What microphone is that?
Thanx! It's no microphone, but a handheld reverb device (spring based) called The Wee Verb Wah
Шикарно! 😍🔥
🙏🙏
Hello …..your playing of the instruments is to good……which harmonica is this and which key and tunning is this…please let me know i also want to buy same harmonica
Thanks! It's a Seydel Fanfare tremolo harmonica i D. I play in the key of E in 3. position in this video.
@@RichardGjems thanx a lot richard…..
Hello richard…. Sry to disturb you…..the seydel fanfare are not available at my region…..can you please suggest me some of the best sounding tremolo harmonica …..i really want the best and top notch quality tremolo harmonica……i hooe you can suggest me…….
Besides Seydel, the Suzuki and Tombo tremolos are excellent. For blues, the Tombos in natural minor might be well suited.
@@RichardGjems thanx a lot richard I’ve bought both suzuki humming high class in c and tombo band 21 deluxe in cm
Great!
Randy! 🙏🎶🎶
Thank you Richard. I greatly appreciate you sending a song my way!! I love the variation and the sweeter melody line on top!!
Much appreciated 👍 Your musicianship has been a HUGE inspiration for me the last ten years. Please make a new record 🙏🙏 Best regards from Norway PS: Which harnonica players have been your main inspiration? You have such an unique expression 🎶🎶
@@RichardGjems Hi Richard. Thank you so much. I am working on another record. An actual album, but I hope to release a few singles by summers end and then a fuller release by 2025....In the meantime I will be posting regularly on youtube ..I hope. I love how you shifted the rhythms of your piece...inspired by Back the Same Day, but completely your own!! I grew up with Sonny Terry, And both Sonny Boy Williamson's. They made me pick up the harmonica. After that it was mostly singers (Vera Hall), pianists, horns, and composers. How about you? Who were your influences?
Thanks! Glad you noticed that. Looking forward to your new stuff 👍🎶 I have listened to all kinds of harmonica players, but I always come back to the classic blues players for the way they use all those small nuances for maximum expression; Sonny Boy, Sonny Terry, early Little Walter, Noah Lewis etc. These days I listen a lot to pedal steel players like Luke Schneider. And always Bessie Smith!

WHY DOES THIS WORK This is inspiring, I have a similar one, I will try this (I am not a guitarist so cannot self accompany)
The solo tuning is similar to a regular chromatic. Just use phrasings as on a regular one 😉🎶🎶
@@RichardGjems Ah, I wonder how it sounds with hand vibrato and wah and stuff like that. Since I use my hand
@@Tyranitar66501Given the size (like a regular 12 hole chromatic) it does not work to well with hand effects, except in the lower register
@@RichardGjems I tried hands free. It didn't work well. I can only get a tight seal using my hand.
Classic Reggae❤
That's great! Any music is subject to the tremolo harmonica! I will learn from you!
Thanx!

Grazie!
Super chciałbym mieć taką mam tylko dwustronną 48 dolkow
Dziękuję bardzo! Model jest super fajny do zabawy
Nice! Cool to hear PowerDraw played so sweetly in tongue blocking style. Because the upper octave blow and draw tongue splits are both 5 holes, how does this affect playing compared to Richter?
Thanks! I think the powerdraw tuning is kind of underrated/underused. Since the upper octave blow and draw tongue splits are both 5 holes, I think it might be easier to play steady rhythmical patterns also in the upper octave (switching between inhaling and exhaling). Personally I mostly enjoy the possibility of bending the octaves when playing in the upper register using the Powerdraw tuning.
@@RichardGjems Thanks for the insight into that 👍
Sounds great Richard!
Thanx 🙏
Nice This is my favorite harmonica I think it’s the easiest to play
Thanx!
Pretty cool! I love playing tremolo
Thanx 🙏
Sir great playing! The effects added later are the cherry on top. Just a question, what are you holding in tour hsnd to cup the low notes? Looks really interesting
Thanx! I'm using a spring reverb device called the Wee Verb Wah 👍🎶🎶
Muy bueno!!!❤
🙏🙏
sounds good bro!!
Thanks!

Hell yeah brother!!

what key harp? nice plsying
Think the Hohner Penta Harp was in A. And thanks!
Amazing. Is that all diaphragmatic breathing or articulations during the main chorus chug?
Thanx 🙏 It's all diaphragmatic breathing as far as I know 😅
@@RichardGjems valves?
@@norfolknwhey4787No, no valves
I really love this song and this style ! Si darck and différent. Many thanks. You give me the feeling to play harmonica again !!!!
My pleasure 🙏
Man this is PHENOMENAL! Your tone is unbeatable 😍 Which guitar tuning? Is it a minor Spanish tuning? Like Open A with a minor third? Very unique!!
Much appriciated 🙏🙏 Yes, it's minor open A tuning (second string dropped a half step)
Wonderfull !!!
Thanx!
Masterfully done!
Thanx!
Reaaally nice thank youuuu
🙏🙏
Great playing!! Do you mainly play seydel 1847 classics?
Thanx! Yes, I mainly use the 1847 Classic and the Lightnin' version 👍🎶🎶
Big up .!!.🎶🎶💚🎶🎶🥂🎶🎶👏🏾
🙏🙏🙏
I have a Seydel Concerto Steel Octave but I am having trouble finding learning resources for octave harmonicas. How did you learn the Cajun and folk style of octave harmonica?
Listening to records and transposing ideas and patterns from regular diatonic harmonicas. The note layout is quite similar 🙂
