I know what you're talking about, at first I thought it was dip/wet tobacco. I was like what the shix. My theory is just parts of the air filter. I found similar stuff in my trucks filter box once. Could be fragments picked up along from the filter breaking down. Or even parts of bugs that got caught and broke overtime. 🤷‍♂️

Oh and the booster is already out, master cylinder too, booster was leaking. Which is why I was removing it. I should've disconnected the battery when I first saw the sparks 😪

I may have an idea where it's at, but did reconnect a few grounds while I had the hood open. Truck won't turn on, only the check engine lights slowly appears. May have to check the neutral saftey switch. I checked all the fuses I could think of but all looked fine.

That even more points to a bad ground. Do this - turn key on and with booster cables connect both the red and black of 1 side, to battery negative - do this first - then with the other end, red and black, connect 1 to the engine block and other to the body. When your connecting to either the block or frame you'll see sparks and the truck will be fixed. Then go look for the bad ground cable.

@unencumbered yeah I reconnected them after the truck wouldn't start. Which I think was maybe under the instrument cluster. I have a ground but with 2 wires connecting to it for my flood light switches and lightbar. Strangely enough I would always get shocked by touching the door sometimes when shutting it. I'll try this out tomorrow too and see. I may check continuity first on the distributor fuse plate where the 175 Amp fuse is. It started to rain so definitely not going to now. Thanks for the suggestion too

It's too late, my truck won't start unless it's just from the brake pedal not having tension on it from the brake booster. I took the positive off after trying to figure out where the bare metal to ground was
