The tragic thing about the Spartan 3's was they never meant to survive. They were specifically designed to fail. They would be inserted into suicidal battles to complete objectives usually resulting in their deaths. The 3's were dean men/women walking and it made each of their stories more painful. Each one was an individual a child sent to their death. All in the name of winning...
why would they make this that is kinda derp i mean like they are wasting spartans that way and yea spartans never die they respawn get it :P
dan danny The term 'Spartans never die. They're just missing in action.' is sadly a false statement. Obviously, we all die one day but that's not the point I'm making. Spartans always go MIA because when they're sent on missions and they die, they don't return. If you've seen Halo Legends and recall the episode/chapter 'The Babysitter', what happens is that the Spartan cannot be recovered. They're too heavy and would have to be carried with heavy-lifting equipment. It's sad to know that the UNSC only use that term for the UNSC to hold morale and make the marines and ODSTs think that because they have Spartans on the job, and thinking that Spartans are indestructible is all to give the marines and civilians along with others in the military such as ODSTs hope that everything's going to be alright. Reach is a sad example of how they were wrong...

No, thats not entirely true; Reach isn't a completely dead planet. It survived Covenant aerial bombardment ( glassing) because they only destroyed the UNSC's most valuable military strongholds and bases. However, by the time the Pillar of Autumn left the planet and broke orbit, there wasn't a single living human soul left on the planet ( except Jun, Dr. Halsey, and a few surviving UNSC Troops. ) Every strategic UNSC fortification and all UNSC ground troops were completely obliterated by the Co
