    Heavier putters are better for people with poor speed control aka they jack it 10ft past all the time. The added weight can help slow them down.

    where can i find this catalyst wedge shaft ?

    • @RodDandyGolf
      @RodDandyGolf 14 дней назад

      This is an excellent question! I have used Callaway Golf Preowned a lot, and they have a lot of wedge options with “project x catalyst 80 wedge” as the shaft, example link below. HOWEVER, this “catalyst wedge” shaft I used in the video and am still using does not have that “80” designation…I don’t know if there is much difference or if it was just updated graphics, but I’m going to email Callaway. Maybe others have some intel on the difference between the “project x catalyst 80” versus just the “catalyst wedge” option? Graphics on those shafts are definitely different, but I’m not sure if it’s just an updated graphics thing or if there is a real difference. Thx for watching and commenting, greatly! www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/wedges/wedges-2022-jaws-raw-matte-black.html

      I emailed Callaway and heard back from them. They said the wedge shaft I showed in this video and am using, and the “project x catalyst 80 wedge” shaft which you can commonly find on their Callaway Golf Preowned site, is basically the same shaft just a different year, that was their response to my inquiry. Hope that helps!

    nice analysis Rod, as a senior 18 handicap, I have the Callaway Paradym AI Max D Driver and am quite satisfied. I have also used the Ping G425 SFT and Taylormade Stealth 2 HD and I definitley prefer the Callaway Paradym AI Max D Driver. A very close runnerup would be the Callaway Big Bertha 23 Driver. All of these drivers with light shafts. Just wondering if you have driver comparision information? William

    • @RodDandyGolf
      @RodDandyGolf 17 дней назад

      I greatly appreciate those comments!! Great to hear…I have tried the G430 SFT, and the Stealth 2 HD, but did not make a video on those, so I only have anecdotal information. I concur with you, comparing those models, my taste and preference was DEFINITELY for the AI Smoke Max D. With the Elyte release, I’m hoping the AI Smoke line comes down even more in price, they are solid! Thx for your note on the Big Bertha 23 driver! I may have to test that. Really appreciate you watching and adding your experiences!!

    These shafts are money. They are actually different than the stock Catalyst shafts that True Temper sells -- I think these are made specifically for Callaway wedges. I used one briefly at the end of the 2023 season and think I'm going to go back to it -- everything you say is true! Stable, easy to control the ball flight and great feel on shorter shots from green side -- kudos! Great video!

    • @RodDandyGolf
      @RodDandyGolf 27 дней назад

      Really appreciate that feedback and you watching and commenting, sincerely! Go for a neutral shaft position…forward shaft lean in the bunker can get that “diggy” action. A simple thought that helps me is try and keep the handle of the club pointing at my zipper…this helps keep that “neutral“ position. Hope that helps! :)

    Thanks for a great overview of the grips. I just tried the Ultralight Medium on my Driver and it took 15 shots to start to get the feel of it. For reference, my hand measures 8” and I wear a Large glove. My only add to your overview is to pay some additional attention to the grip weights. The Ultralight and Zenlight will have minimal impact on your clubs swing weight. The other series can double your current grip weight pretty easily, reducing your feel of the club head in your swing. Lastly, be mindful of some of the RUclipsr reviews as I’ve seen many completely disregard the proper size and point out they used exactly what Bryson is using and shocker, didn’t get his results. Thanks again for your thorough review of the grips!

    • @RodDandyGolf
      @RodDandyGolf Месяц назад

      I really appreciate you watching and offering up your thorough comments! Good notes on the grip weight…yes, they do have some that are heavier and can affect the feel. I personally didn’t notice a massive difference myself, but others may have a different experience.

    Amazon has this for $250 (sold by Rock Bottom Golf, but $300 on the RBG website), which is half of what it cost just a couple of years ago. Just ordered mine today. I actually tested this device a couple of years ago on a 60 day trial, but felt it was too expensive vs the Garmin R10, which was only $50 more. I ended up with an MLM2 Pro, but sold it after using it for a year because of the setup/app hassle. The thing I loved most about the SC300i was that no app or internet connection is needed. Just set it down and swing away. Can’t wait to get mine (again)!

      @RodDandyGolf 3 месяца назад

      I personally kept setup similar using both DF 2.1 and DF3. In general, I kinda try to have the shaft towards middle of stance. These putters roll the ball so smooth, I have found if I start getting really hoppy skippy putts, I need to check my ball position. I also like to use really light grip pressure with the thumbs (LAB talks about a “thumbs off” drill)…this seems to help with that “swinging itself” action. Hope that helps, sincerely appreciate you watching and commenting!

    Thanks, Rod - great reminder/tip. Not so sure that Ben Hogan didn't also have a slight bit of this going on. Also, I am almost certain that all the great golfers would have made modifications, slight or otherwise, to their swings to simply adapt to the changes in equipment - and - age.

      Appreciate that feedback!! I think you are right…I’ve read Hogan in actuality didn’t always do the things he felt he did. You make an excellent point on equipment and age…we often want the “thrilling days of yesteryear” , but life/age/weight/body changes/sitting at a desk, all these things can impact how we swing the club, and some things we “used” to do, may not work anymore. Really really appreciate you watching and commenting!!

    In Florida, I only use the FJ rain glove. Have for years. Seems like the wetter it gets, the better it works. With humidity and sweat, leather gloves are useless.

      That is great to hear!!! I also agree on your FJ rain glove note, they work great and are durable. Completely agree, the southern humid weather just does not treat the leather gloves kindly. Thx for watching and commenting, greatly!

    Do you like this color better or the green? Trying to decide between the two. I want one that won’t mess with my vision any suggestions?

      Hmmm, from what I’ve seen the green looks nice but I haven’t seen that color in person. One possible thought: the green color on a green while putting may not have as much contrast. Splitting hairs possibly, but just a thought. I do like the cappuccino color and how it frames the ball, personally. Thx for watching and commenting, sincerely!

      @@RodDandyGolf thank you! One more question do you think it’s more spending the money to upgrade the shaft to the TPT or Accra?

    • @RodDandyGolf
      @RodDandyGolf 4 месяца назад

      I used several DF 2.1’s, and have tried 2 different DF3’s. Only 1 of them had a shaft upgrade, and it was an Accra. Did it give a different feel? Yes. Did it help make more putts? No. I have a hard time believing an exotic putter shaft will help the average recreational golfer make more putts. It will give a different feel, but the truth is we all get used to whatever we’re using after a handful of rounds. Unless I’m getting a great deal, I’m personally not getting the shaft upgrades. They are very expensive! This is just my take and experience, someone else may have a different stance. Hope that helps!

      @@RodDandyGolfI was thinking the same thing...not enough contrast?
