    I took my rebuilt Bolt Pro camping last month. I had RV Dads taking pics of my phone, so they could order parts when they get home. Oh and I also had a blast riding on the hilly, gravel roads. Sadly the Kenda K50 tire didnt last more than a week after that, so I am looking for a more robust rear tire. They are fine for the front, but they cant handle the stress of being an ebike drive wheel.

      @@mainstreetscooters Now that I have some better idea of what I am doing, and what I can expect. My next project is going to be entirely from "scratch", rather than trying to polish a turd [not entirely fair, but shopping for parts...] I am doing a chopper, and I will have a shop sew a hub into a much better quality rim. The biggest disappointment was discovering the limits built in by mass production. I will either grab a frame and forks from ebay, or recondition a Schwinn OCC.

    Relly considering this over the new g2 max. The 46v and 800 rear /1500 output. And for the price its $100 less. What would you recommend other then the fact that is segway is more of a reputable brand?

    • @mainstreetscooters
      @mainstreetscooters Год назад

      I had 2 of the first gen Segway max. both suffered from the motor wiring melting due to the poor connectors with the controller. Both had less them 400 miles and Segway was unwilling to assist. I will pick Yadea all day long over Segway but have not yet had to experience Yadeas customer service, fingers crossed i wont have to. But looking at them side by side, the Yadea has a much better suspension, turn signals and is just all around nicer in my opinion.

      @@mainstreetscooters 64 lbs both reassuring and concerning if you need to move it by hand! In your view, are tubeless tire the best solution (and are these self-sealing)? I bought a fairly premium Blutron scooter with tubes and on the 3rd ride i got a pinch flat on the rear motor wheel, that was over 2 weeks ago. ive worked on bike wheels but this ones going to be a bitch if i have to go into the deck to slack up the motor cable. should have followed my instinct and steered clear of the tube tire models. I suspect the tube was badly installed at the factory, punctured under the valve. should have checked pressure after 1st ride. 235 lbs no joke on back wheel of course. The rubber tires give a nice ride, but can be somewhat jarring and leg fatigue after 15 minutes.. i agree suspension probably key, another mistake i made.

    • @mainstreetscooters
      @mainstreetscooters Год назад

      @@soneeeee4440 So out of all the scooters I have owned, the only ones ever to get flats had tubes in them. All of my tubeless sccots have had no issues. I have worked in the past with self healing tires, basically there is a black tar or sticky substance along the inside, as soon as a puncture happens it seals around it. You can even pull a nail or screw out and 9 times out of 10 you won't have a issue, so I'm all for self healing tires. The weight is another thing but I am ok with it, the trade off is you get a larger battery and full suspension, its worth the extra weight to me to have these features

    Great test - I like that the scooter battery outlasted the GoPro battery! I'm considering this as a replacement (or addition...) to my M365. In my part of Australia, they have just made it legal to use scooters on most urban roads, at up to 20km/h on a scooter capable of not more than 25km/h. I get the impression that the Elite Prime can be configured to more or less qualify. What I am looking for (at the age of 74) is not so much speed, but power for hills, good brakes, comfortable suspension, indicators, large wheels to not stop dead in small potholes, and general all round comfort and safety. The only drawback with the Elite Prime is that there doesn't seem to be a Yadea dealer over here, and while the scooter itself can be shipped here, maintenance and spares (esp. tires) might be a problem in the future. Any thoughts, if you have a moment? As for comfort, do you find that the suspension avoids the need to ride with bent knees, or is that still necessary on most surfaces? And lastly - I can't find how heavy the scooter is. Any info on that? Many thanks.

    • @mainstreetscooters
      @mainstreetscooters Год назад

      Hi Peter, I have had both the M365 and ninebot G30 Max in the past and can say with confidence that the suspension makes all the difference in the world. My ninebot max I could only ride 5-10 miles, before my knees and legs started really aching, I have had no leg pains riding this one. You do sacrifice weight savings though for the suspension, it weighs around 65lbs but for me I can't go back to a non suspension scooter.
