Добавлен 30 июл 2006
Videos of trail rides, training sessions, and special events held by the Virgin Valley 4x4 club in Mesquite, Nevada. VV4x4 is a Sun City Mesquite charter club, but open to all members in the Mesquite area with an appropriate vehicle. We run trails primarily in Nevada's Virgin Valley, the Arizona strip, the St. George, UT area and several times a year in Moab, UT. We also have club trips to California and Colorado.
Slick Rock
After running the Rubicon Trail we headed out to Slick Rock just outside Bear Valley for a great day of wheeling in late July. Just like the Rubicon, this trail is non-stop action and not for the faint hearted. A special thank you to John & Suzy for leading the way and Glenn & Birgitta tail gunning.

You'll wind through red sandstone cliffs and narrow canyons to a Native American historical site with numerous signs of past civilizations. The route leads to a turnaround where the naturally formed Birthing Cave can be easily accessed on foot. Take a hike up, into, and around on the towering sandstone formations to d...

The Virgin Valley 4x4 club run of Golden Spike trail in Moab on October 12, 2023. The trail is also known as the "trifecta", since it consists of three trails, Poison Spider, Golden Spike, and Gold Bar Rim. One of our rigs suffered a breakdown and had to be towed out. The Hole-in-the-Rock trail is a 35 mile long, in and out multi-day trail, about 150 miles south of Moab. The trailhead is 13 miles east of Halls Crossing, the closest fuel. We made it on a single tank, but would suggest carrying extra. There are several dispersed camping sites along the trail. Taking our time, we spent about 10 hours driving each way and camped for one night at the turn around ...
Hells Revenge in the Rain. Virgin Valley 4x4, run 10/11/2023
Просмотров 254Год назад
The slickrock in Moab is well-known for its "grippy" quality, one reason the trails there are so popular. That characteristic is reduced substantially when it rains as the water brings the oils and rubber to the rock surface. That didn't deter Paul and Tom from getting in "just one more trail" before the end of the day. Notice that most of the vehicles are coming out as they are heading in. The...

Schofield Pass, Gunnison County, CO. Driven on 9/13/2023

Pre-run by two Virgin Valley 4x4 club members. The trail has been called "the most deadly pass in Colorado" due to the number of fatal accidents that have happened on this road. While it definitely had a few "clencher" spots, and the rain added to the excitement, an attentive, experienced 4x4 driver should make it through fine. There is plenty of beautiful scenery along the way, and someday I'l...

Black Dragon Canyon Trail Ride on April 13, 2023
I guess no narration is better than endless blabbering...
That is an awesome area! I rode my DR650 there years ago.
They’re off-roading 8 years in the future
Good catch, thank you. Fixed.
Good video for a first person perspective, thanks.
Wow. Amazing stabilization on that video. I'm not motion sick or anything.
Amasa Back!
Aweome!
Awesome video new subscriber here
Can my stock 2017 jeep grand cherokee 4wd with at tires do this trail.thank you.
Where does this trial start, looks like a tight spot !!
Scanlon Ferry Road starts at the Gold Butte townsite. The dugway has some very tight spots where boulders are blocking the road.
Looks like a good scenic trail
Im beginner any recommendations. Looking to join a group
Love riding at Gold Butte....simply amazing!
Is there a bypass for the squeeze? I plan on doing it but my wife just got brand new fenders so she’s not ready to beat them up yet
No bypass. Only option is to turn around. A stock JK can get through with no problem. JL is slightly wider, but it will fit, barely, if you are careful.
Excellent camera stability!
Nice video. Is 35 enough for this trail? I saw some recommendation on 37. Also if I don’t have skid plates is it safe to go?
The silver Jeep in the video was on 35's, so yes, depending on driver experience. Skids are always a good idea. With great driving skills you can do a lot more with a lot less.😁
I like how you filmed the jeep from a lead vehicle.
Прекрасное приключение Вы смелые люди Мне тоже нравятся такие путешествия
Been there. Done that. Good times. Hit Fix It after dark. That was FUN!
I've ridden fin N' Things twice. It was a ton of fun. Looking backwards makes it hard to recognize the obstacles. Youse guys make it look easy and it isn't. :)
It's a great and fun trail especially as a warm up in Moab. Good variety of obstacles. There are a few optional areas we plan to video this coming April.
Enjoyed your movie. I love the backwards facing camera. Only thing is you 2 have to decided who is going to be the star of the show. :) I ran the pass on 9/23/2023 from the other direction. It was a little bit of a nostalgia tour for me. I made the ride on a motorcycle in 2010. Only thing is I screwed up my movie a little. I stopped the camera at the skinny spot above the river to take some still photos. Then I climbed up the off-camber before I remembered to start the movie again. :( My movie is also just in the Punchbowl. ruclips.net/video/eokSMPJPCIA/видео.htmlsi=8IiM-M2gz6zWeb4C
Nice rig and awesome footage 😉💪
Thanks 👍Glad you enjoyed it.
I wanna go! Looking for another off road buddy. I'm so down!
I think I crossed your group a few days back on the shelf road of the Gemini Bridges trail west of Moab. Distinctive markings on the Irishcon... :)
Yes, we crossed doing Golden Spike on 10/12. Hope we at least waved on the way by!
Nice
Great video. Looks like fun 😅
Thank you! Much fun.
Watch out for 🐜 hornets
I really wish they didnt cement in the rock garden at the start. It was more fun before.
Awesome trail!! Heading there in 3 weeks. It's time for a tire change , it is between Geolander X-AT and MT Baja Boss. Saw in video that 2 of your Jeeps are running those tires, any comments about preferences. Thanks
Good luck, Holy Cross is a fantastic trail with nonstop action. If you have time run Pearl Pass from Aspen to Crested Butte, then take Schofield Pass to Crystal City to see Crystal Mill and end up in Marble, CO. Pearl Pass scenery is out of this world and Schofield Pass for a little pucker factor. I am running MT Baja Boss AT and have no complaints. Great traction, no issues aired down to 10 psi and they are very quiet on the highway.
I have the Geolanders. I like them, both have pretty decent traction in the rocks, but I think I'd go with the Mickey T's next time. The Geolanders tend to hold rocks in the treads and fling them (just ask Paul).
Appreciate the feedback, do you guys feel like the weight of the tires has had any issues, I am currently running KO2s 37s which only weigh 67 lbs. So right now based on the feedback you gave me its MTs BB ATs, and maybe Falken AT3w but MTs look more aggressive and probably better grip. By the way do you guys accept any out of state members, would love to join some of your runs someday, I live is southern California but I have a son in Nevada and I often visit him now that I am retired. Again appreciate your feedback@@VV4x4
Appreciate the feedback and recommendations. I ran the classic Jeep passes a few years ago Imogene, Engineer and Black Bear Pass which although not technical definitely provided soem pucker factor, maybe it would not have wehn I was in my forties but several decades later things have changed@@IRISHCON
Gold mountain to john bull to Holcomb creek!
Day 1 - Gold Mountain to John Bull, Day 2 Holcomb Creek, Day 3 Drive to Borrego Springs, Day 4 Pinyon Mountain
@@IRISHCON You guys don't mess around!
Do you remember how much roll you were getting at about 16 minutes? Great video, thanks!
Not sure, but not as bad as it looks. Less than 15 degrees probably.
Great videography and great trail run, I wish I was closer to you guys so I can join the club. I just retired and got a JLU , lifted it and now trying to decide what 37 inch tires to go with. Are you guys running MTs , Ridge Grapplers. Any advice apppreciated. Great to see "mature" off roaders show that skill and good lines trumps dependence on skinny pedal. Keep on Jeepin!
Sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for watching! Tires depend on several factors, mostly what type of trails you'll be running. MT's can be noisy and wear quickly if you are driving to the trails but not a concern if you trailer. Most of us who don't trailer run AT's with reasonably aggressive tread which tend to be flatter and a little harder compound.
Thanks for the video! Was the return trail down by the savanic mine?
For this trip we can back the same route. We would usually go to Savanic mine from Tassi Ranch, but it might be a fun trip coming down from the north. Thanks for the suggestion! Sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for watching.
Very cool 😎
where's the top?
Looks like fun to me.
Loved the video. Moab, Off-roading, and Jeeps are the best!
Yes they are!
Long ride with a couple of challenging spots...however, none that my stock Gladiator Overland couldn't handle - the driver needed a little coaxing though. The view of the Colorado River with rafters going through small rapids is worth the trip. But there's more, beautiful scenery along the way; canyons, vistas, flowering cactus are just a few of the sites. Pack a lunch and eat at the overlook! Great trip.
Great videos.
