What’s it like with digestate ?
No drama at all, not without its challenges and tinker with her to find the sweet spot, but yea flys through it
Amazing engineering...... credit to all involved! Great explaining of how it works 👍🏻 Looking like contractors will be busy on farms in the winter after all 😊
Bang goes winter off. 🤣🤣me n my mouth 🙄🤣👍
Very impressed by that machine and design and build. Very well explained. Impressive stuff.
Thankyou, it’s take a lot of head scratching and R&D to get this far 👍
Growing up on a farm in Minnesota raising hogs we had a big tank to draw liquids with and stir up the solids with for spreading on our fields from that tank , being able to separate the solids from the liquids sounds like a good idea , the solids can be spread using a manuer spreader and the liguids can be knifed into the ground.
le truc qui sert à rien
That stupid start made this comment and a quick escape.
Hi Everyone at A J Heywood & Sons all the best for 2025 Thanks again
Thanks 😃 let’s make it a good one! 💪🏼👌🏼
Interesting solution. Different so the more commen type of a screw separator. I am curious why they chose the different design instead of stacking up some screw based separators. Is this more cost efficient or is the key point that they can separat sand based beddings?
Yes it was developed around the sand systems, knowing how aggressive and wearing it is under force, nothing is put under wearing force on this, the sand in the liquid can then be delt with separately via natural settlement
You could also make the front arm telescopic and still have the advantages off floding away nicely
Did look at that option but it would have increased the weight to much, it’s plenty heavy enough and on one side 👍
Back in the mid 1960s I was working for WDNC farmers, A MR HEYWOOD used to come to the Stratton store from Village farm with his old tractor and trailer, several kids in the trailer, if you were amongst them, I am amazed how the family have grown expanded, er I mean the business, CONGRATULATIONS, i THINK THE BUISNESS IS WELL PLACED FOR THE NEXT 60/70 YEARS.
Great machine well done 👍
A lot of great ideas but no mention of the smell of the resultant elements! Does this machine reduce the smell , I notice nobody is wearing masks so is this the case or are you so used to it that you do not notice? It would be wonderful for those who suffer lung problems if the smell is reduced and could it also be the case that gas products are reduced which would be a great help with health and safety issues in confined spaces? Marvelous to see such dedication to producing this machine , keep the spies away! Any plans for a smart soil injector which is also badly needed?
@@DavidCarter-y6i smart soil injection?
from usa where can i buy this and the cost
@@harveymartin4821 atm it’s a one off machine, but who knows in the future
Mighty machine, the solid stuff would be easily spread with a side spreader of rear discharge spreader with no worries about foreign objects
@@davidbrennan3613 yes be great through a spreader, if left over winter to compost down, be a great for soil structure and worm feed 👍
genius machine and an excellent presentation, kudos
❤👀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The attention to detail in this build is incredible! From the hydraulic-driven pump to the airbag roller tension system, every feature is well thought out. 👌
@@FarmGearInnovators thankyou it’s taken a few years of testing to get her here but very happy with all the changes and increased out put, always learning 👍
that's thinking with out the box , be interesting on how quick the solids would compost , be a great material fraction by the way it looks , add that it super charged already , thinking in a finished compost application, wood fraction take a long time to brake down properly ,
Great machine! You could have a auger for removing sand in the catchment tank once the tanks empty (obviously tank would need to have a round bottom instead of a V shape, denso tape for the hydraulic fittings on the motors etc for a bit more protection against corrosion, maybe an auto greaser if you have hard to reach grease nipples.
Have you used it on a sand bed dairy farm to know what % of sand is taken out of liquid to be stored in a tower which hates sand ?
It’s a sand based machine, majority of the sand will be in the liquid, if you can settle the sand out before pumping up to a tower that’s the easiest way to
What is elephant grass used for? can it be used for biogas?
That waist that comes off the back, could it be good to make compost > would there be enough to start a compost sale out-fit?
@@ColinLennard anything is possible with the fiber waste
I was thinking it'd be good to purchase for use on a domestic garden. Slurry itself isn't usable because it's too difficult to handle but the solid material is a completely different story. Growing up we'd have a trailer of manure every year to go onto the garden and this could help avoid the need to collect them separately.
Yes i was thinking about bagging it up and selling it to the townies at the farm gate. Three four stone bags for a tenner. 😊.
@@TheGrimReaper1 definitely used to do it years ago with it, tip it in a line, throw a bucket of worms into it, leave it 12 months and it was beautiful compost
@@TheGrimReaper1 Try getting a hold of those garners from (radio 4) Garners world I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't bit your hand off. You are offering turds without the water + smell.
Brilliant
Thank you 👍🏼
Really interesting piece of engineering. What are the advantages over the conventional screw separator systems?
@@hughmarcus1 we can do heavy laden sand slurry with zero wear over a screw type that has to force the slurry creating wear of the screw and mesh
@@GilkoMSTcreator A very efficient looking piece of kit , seems a more simple design than others. If machine was intending to be used exclusively on slurry where sand bedding of cubicles is not practiced, operating in Ireland and don’t know anyone who uses sand ,would your machine be efficient or would a screw type make more sense ? Also any figures on operating costs etc or have you a website with more details
@ thankyou, yes we tried and needed to keep it simple, putting any slurry under pressure is fraught with issues, hence we kept simple.its the same as them all, its only as efficient as the product going in. Thick slow, wet fast, It will work on all slurry’s but we emphasised on the sand side as that’s more our bedding here.
A really clever unit and I like the idea of using brake actuators as a pressure device, for the roller press at the rear it looks like the final flat press roller at the back is holding material up a little would it be worth trying,a diamond grip like the one next to it stop the build up but definitely a clever machine and well made 👍👍
Where are you putting the contaminated water, looks a great piece of kit, I could see a couple of contractors taking it on any idea of cost less Tractor of course
The contanimated water is pretty much a less concentrated fertilizer i pretty sure it ends on the fields
Watch yourself with the name if you go to market this machine. Morooka track dumpers use mst 300 and 400 for their models. Don’t know if it will be a problem but maybe something you should look into
Nothing came up on any searches, but he shout tho 👍
They definitely do. The whole morooka range is mst followed by size of dumper. I’ve got an mst 300 and 600. Possibly be ok but you hear of problems when a manufacturer uses another’s names. Remember Ford stopped Ferrari calling their f1 car the f150 as that’s the name of a Ford pickup
Great looking machine I like the separate front pump an realer . Have yous seen the slurryquip separaters in Northern Ireland launched
Yea very good. “Off the shelf” unit, they work well, only thing they struggle with is wear and ya wouldn’t want to do sand bedding with them, ours is built around sand based systems 👍
Everyday is a school day. Quite a bit of kit. Good luck with it.😊
Thank you 👍🏼
Like many farms in my area, I don’t have anywhere to pump the liquid. Could an umbilical be used direct off this? And can it handle unmixed thick slurry (we can’t mix the slurry when cattle are on slats and no where else to put them).
Many variations, the liquid could go into a nurse tank then pumped from there, flow directly to the field is a little awkward with flow etc If it will pump it will separate 👍
👍👍 nice tidy unit
Thanks 👍
buy the question every one wants to know is , HOW MUCH??
Maybe a longer conveyor to load to a trailer ?
Can easily reach into a dump trailer, I can speed the elevator up to throw it further, was all I had at the time 👍
What's the idea of this
To remove the solids out of the slurry, to gain extra storage and a better nitrogen rich product for grass feed with reduced silage contamination due to thick slurry residue on the fields
It looks to be producing a far drier sample than previous clips I’ve seen.👍
All depends on the quality of the slurry going in, but always comes of “stackable “
That's some very clever engineering and ideas. An English Welkers Farm lol Are you going to patent and sell it as a machine or sell the concept to a larger manufacturer?
Thank you for your kind comment, we are really pleased with it. Watch this space! 😉
Brilliant machine see how effective it is. You know the airbags are where the operator is wouldn't it be a a idea to have a guard over incase the pipes or anything bursting as they stand close.
Thank you for your valid point we will look into this 👍🏼
@@charleynewell6604 they are only running a low pressure to be fair as most of the weight is in the rollers, if anything it’s stopping them from bouncing,I don’t tend to run them more than 1bar 👍
@GilkoMSTcreator even 1 bar is a lot of pressure in psi
@ true, running through hyd hose so should be ok, but yes your probably right a cover over it would be piece of mind for sure 👍
It looks a big improvement on the last version and Alan looks a lot cleaner than when he came down to sussex last march
