So this RUclips account is to pretty much upload different rare videos and recordings of bands I enjoy, along with different performances. Most of my videos will be somehow related to Our Lady Peace, since they're pretty much my favorite band. If you enjoy OLP, then I hope you'll enjoy my channel.
Our Lady Peace- The Birdman/Carnival (live interpolation)
Our Lady Peace performing their debut single from their album Naveed, with an interpolation of the Clumsy single "Carnival." This was only played a couple of times on the Spiritual Machines tour.

Our Lady Peace performing their hit 1997 single Superman's Dead (from their second album, Clumsy) live on MTV's old show "Oddville, MTV." I do NOT own this song, this show, or the channel on which it was broadcasted.

This is Our Lady Peace performing their hit 2002 single, Somewhere Out There (from their fifth studio album, Gravity), live at the Late Late Show. I do NOT own this song, this show, or the channel on which it was broadcasted.

Our Lady Peace- Clumsy (acoustic)
Просмотров 48 тыс.14 лет назад
Our Lady Peace performing their hit single and title track of their sophomore album, Clumsy (1997). "There's a connection between the song 'Clumsy' and it being the title of the album. There's a line in the song that says: 'I'll be waving my hand/watching you drown/watching you scream', it's about seeing something but not seeing it for what it really is. It's about decisions. That image of 'wav...
Raine Maida- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (feat. Chantal Kreviazuk)

Raine Maida, Our Lady Peace frontman, featuring his wife Chantal Kreviazuk, doing a cover of the kids song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." It was featured on a compilation album, "For the Kids." If I'm not mistaken, this was recorded in 2002.
Our Lady Peace- Where Are You (Live @ Much)
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.14 лет назад
Our Lady Peace performing the lead single, "Where Are You," from their sixth studio album, Healthy in Paranoid Times. I do NOT own this song, this show, or the channel on which it is broadcasted.
Our Lady Peace- Innocent (Live @ Much)
Просмотров 6 тыс.14 лет назад
Our Lady Peace performing their hit 2002 single "Innocent," from their fifth album, Gravity. I do NOT own this song, this show, or the channel on which it was played. Fun fact: The song originally had very different lyrics, and went under the title "Arrogant." Bob Rock proposed the change to "Innocent," so people would have a song more "relatable."
Our Lady Peace- Angels/Losing/Sleep (Live @ Much)

Our Lady Peace- Disgusted

Once again, I realize the sound quality isn't great, but I uploaded it for fans to enjoy seeing the performance and to get an idea of a little bit of the evolution the song went through. Some of the lyrics are noticabley different (they can be found on SongMeanings), Mike continues with the heavy guitar throughout the versions (while on Big Dumb Rocket, there's not much guitar in the verses), a...
Our Lady Peace- Home

Yes, I realize the sound quality of this video isn't good. But I figured if anyone else enjoys this song as much as I do, they'd want to see the band actually performing it. So here you go. This was one of the first songs written for the Clumsy sessions. It was written and performed in late 1995 (just after Naveed, which explains the similar sounds), and was one of Duncan Coutts first songs wit...

sounds so much better then the original
Used to work with Eugene at Pancreatitis back in the day. Remember when he got his tongue pierced and whenever we looked for him he was hiding the walkin fridge with a cold boiled egg in his mouth 😂
i loved this song. oh it’s 10/24/24 🤣💯
🎉
My Canadian friend introduced me to this band 24 years ago ♥️ Today I finally found my favourite song of them all. Why was this never featured on an album?
I think this song is about a friend who is a victim of a domestic violence and doesnt want to open up to the singer about it n seek help.
I think I have listened to this more than 47k times 😅
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing!
cmv
Always reminds me of my best friend who topped herself (was getting into OLP around the time). Love that this song reminds me of her.
Anyone knows where this specific version comes from ? Is it on some single our something ? I've got the 2 discs Clumsy album with an acoustic version on it, but it is different from this one.
Went to see Van Halen - left an OLP fan b/c of this very cover. I want to say 95/96?? Balance Tour? Thank you for posting!!
Always fun tuning a guitar in the freezing cold.
Absolutely terrible
They’re playing it faster than the original version lol
Still think about you often homie, miss you bru 😔
Rest in Peace Eugene💜💜💜
Not my favorite version, sounds like the guitar is playing a lot lf open-tuning here, which is conficting with the overall melodic structure and sounds out of tune.
Love this MTV performance. Watched the live telecast with friends back in the day. My band!
Ugh, I forgot about that fedora Raine Maida wore during his mid-late 2000s hipster phase! He looked better with long hair and denim jacket with jeans AKA “Canadian Tuxedo” look from 2002/2003.
The funny thing about his phase on wearing the fedora was that a fan on this very broadcast called him out on it and said, "only Frank Sinatra can pull off that look". He was noticeably irate by that comment and even the crowd knew he got roasted on live national television. His drummer pretty much had to chime in and save the interview but by then, Muchmusic had already disconnected call and the ship was sailed. By the time the next album came out (Burn, Burn), you occasionally see Raine wear the hat in promotional shoots but pretty much gave up the hat since then.
@ Haha, yes I remember watching that MuchOnDemand performance live on TV back in 2006. It’s a good thing Jeremy Taggart chimed in, Raine took the fedora joke Way too personally.
@ I was also in the audience with my friends three years later in 2009 when they returned to MuchOnDemand back in July 2009, one day before the official release of Burn, Burn. Raine was not a pleasant at all, except to all the teenaged girls asking for autographs… On the other hand, guitarist Steve Mazur, Duncan Coutts and Jeremy Taggart were all swell, outgoing guys! 👍🤟
This song is beautiful Rest peacefully Eugene 😢
Think I downloaded this on Napster
You are happy about your faith kneel and obey you are Happy you are in love need someone to hate. Worry about the wather hope its nice. I am thinking why
been listening to this forever, im shocked this song wasnt as popular as it should be or is it just me whos obsessed with this song, cant even find drum covers or guitar covers anywhere or singing covers, i mustve put like cpl thousand views on this video here alone.
How have o never heard this. I had this album.
It’s a cover
Not actually on the album
@@surge1533well I knew it’s a cover. For some reason I thought the description said it was on Happiness; but I think that was the users profile photo. lol must of been out of it
@@jfdd43 apparently it was on happiness but as a bonus track not first day release. Not a bad cover tho
🤘🌹🕊️
Did they ever find this in the vault?
I never understood the big deal with Raine, his voice is very nasally and doesn't even come close to any of the top singers from that era. First few albums were good, I definitely played drums along to Naveed million times. But I still don't get the mass appeal of this band lol
I think they reached their peak popularity during the Gravity era...not a stellar record like the previous 4 but not exactly hot garbage either. Raine sounds amazing in the studio (until 2009's Burn Burn) but is objectively awful live. It's a painful truth for me, a person who LOVES their first 4 records...and 2011's Curve.
Good rendition, friends.
It’s a shame that they peaked at Naveed
Yeah man I love their first album, also have this track on a live CD signed by the band... Mike is just killer on guitar, and yeah perhaps when Chris left the band it lost its flavor? Tough to say, i saw them live right after they released Naveed in Montreal, they were sick good, there were about 30 guys in the audience, they opened for a band and I forget who is was? "Melon" was in their name? Blind Melon or something? Anyways I only went to see OLP open, then we split the scene,,,,
most fuckin underrated bassist. Sickest bass in this song.
I doubt that Duncan Coutts will ever get the accolades he deserves. Between him and Jeremy Taggart, you have two of the most talented and underrated bassists and drummers respectively of all time.
When autotune was not invented yet
i worked on the crew for this show. they had people call in live and someone made fun of raine's hat
This is pure nostalgia for me! Im almost very emotional thinking about the fucking amazing times I had when i was a teenager and listening to Our Lady Peace growing up. Ive seen this band more than 10 times live. I still love them.
I wish Raine could still hit notes like this. It was next fucking level. One of the most unique voices ever.
2:58 sounds like farting noises
That guy saying “right on” has lived in my head tent free since 2002
90s rock music is still beautiful
I’m proud to say my 12 yr old listens to this era and genre
much was the best back in the day now it's trash
Wow. I can’t believe I stumbled on this. I remember when my dad bought cases of blue, and this 3 track cd came in. It was fantastic front to back. I’m 35 now. Crazy how time passes.
💙💙
Thank you for uploading stuff I downloaded on Kazaa in 2002
I recognize Steve is the other guitarist Jamie Edwards.
What's crazy is that he sounded great in early 2001. I understand that with the release of Gravity he changed his delivery, drastically, but he was landing everything from Spiritual Machines. Easily. It was a hard hard decline. They pretty much can't touch most of their catalog at all these days
I would say it was in 2006 that his voice really started to crap out. He lost the dirty abrasive grit in his voice at this point though. They all do. Chester Bennington did too. Raine's voice "matured" and got MUCH deeper too, he can't really hit the high notes at all anymore :( A voice is a perishable gift unfortunately. His voice back in 97-2001 is something to behold though. He was my fav easily.
💐🕊
It's a classic case of a singer who never really learned to properly sing. He has a good voice as evidenced by the early albums (pre autotune for those that bitch bout that). But he never learned how to sing properly and you need to have some sort of knowledge of your voice and how it works to sing live. Also they really should have used tracks. There's so much going on in the those gravity tracks that they should played to a session with all the textures.
Where is the "I love this" button
Wow, only one listen and this is stuck in my head. I really wish this was released as a b-side or something.
