I love that video and it nearly runs perfectly on 1.21.3. My only issue is that if I dump many different items and the chest still has items in it, the input hopper minecart won't go. Basically if there are 4 stacks of copper ore and 45 gold ore, then the system will think its not full yet and the chest isn't empty and the minecart won't go. Is there any way to make it so the Minecart goes if just all slots there is something (even if its just one raw chicken) or chest empty. Or maybe a way to tell it it can go when over half full, since that would be plenty. Thanks in advance!

so first of all it's not working for me for some reason Idk why, I do had to put the chest a block higher because the minecart wasn't emptying the chest. I do not know what the other problem could be, still searching or it edit: so minecart can empty the chest from that angle but it's because the powered rail pushes the minecart too deep into the chest above him which in result he can't take out the items,

Doesn't this circuit jam when you put a lot of stuff in the chest? If the minecart gets full and there's still more in the chest, it never releases the minecart.

I just built this in my 1.21.1 survival world, with a few minor tweaks: 1) I added a circuit to prevent the fuel minecart from leaving (by keeping the piston powered) when the hopper feeding the first furnace is full. Otherwise, once your furnaces and cart are all full of fuel, it runs continuously. Now, it only dispatches the fuel minecart when smelting starts. 2) Since mine is hidden under the floor, I wanted an indicator to show when the smelter is running. I have an observer watching the first furnace that toggles a copper bulb on and off up near my input chest. 3) I added an indicator light that goes out when the fuel chest is almost empty (since it is also under the floor). 4) I added auto droppers that send the smelted items up water elevators to my output chests above the floor.

Now we need to IMPROVE it even further. How can we make the minecart stop when all furnances are full?

"Casual" ... FWIW, played Minecrack on/off about 10yrs now, recently picked back up. Spent better part of my afternoon in my Creative world trying to figure out how to get the new-fangled 'auto-crafter' working and realized I've never bothered figuring-out how to filter / sort my piston melon/pump. farms that all flow from a basement lair via too many water chutes, haha, into two messy chests (would love to have them auto-separated). I've realized the absolute glut of videos / how-to's / supposed experts today, w/ narrative styles all over the map and few with a clean, spartan focus. Absolutely love your how-to's ... *Thank you* , a ton, for the time you put into these, your approach and focus, and clear "why this works." Hope you're still enjoyin' the game a few years later! Bruh. I have no clue why this is not the first video RUclips recommends for supper smelters. I was going insane yesterday looking for a tutorial that had a autoloading system (I knew they existed, I just didn't know how to make them). This is the only tutorial I have seen that both shows how to build them and explains how they work. Superb stuff.

This is a cracking design and works well. It is also useful when building a mass storage system for, say, cobblestone where you just use one line of hoppers and powered rail with the same auto-loading mechanism for the hopper minecart. The line of hoppers feeds into the back of a line of chests - which can be stacked. By extending the rail by a couple at each end (one might be enough, I didn't test this) you can even out the distribution so that it is exactly equal into each chest provided all the rail is at full power; distribution might be slightly uneven at the minecart turn points otherwise.

Love this system it really what I've been looking for and one most usable I've seen

For those who run into the issue where the minecart doesnt stop very well in the station and the piston kinda double activate and messes up the smelter until u reactivate it manually : Make sure there's no blocks touching the fences whenever the piston extend or retract ! It will still mess up the piston and still double activate it but at least it works and the hopper minecart will only stop at the station when it's empty and he wil keep going if there's item in the chest. Hope i made it pretty clear ;)

You cannot really extend it as long as you want. I tried with 30 furnaces but nope. At the begining you'll see it working but after like 2 minutes, the end furnaces will stop getting any fuel or cactus. I tried increasing the no. of minecarts but still same issue.

Im in bedrock edition. when the minecart is parked it wont activate the activator rail, and after a while trying to make it work. Im just lost. anyone have any suggestions?

a little problem: the system in 1.19.2 only accepts full stacks, the minecart hoopers won't leave if they aren't filled totally how can i fix it, plz?

i have a question, does it work in bedrock?

Works for bedrock except you have to move the Rail line for fuel one block further from the furnace which means you'll need additional 8 hoppers on the back. Reason - Bedrock's Hopper Minecarft in 1.19 are glitchy. The fuel Minecart will steal iron ore from smeltery minecart and try to put iron ore in the furnace as fuel which breaks everything. The hopper Minecart range/hitbox is too big and it steals from minecart from above and over one block.

I just made this in my realm on bedrock. It was working great until my minecarts got derailed somehow. I replaced them and now my fuel minecart keeps stealing everything from my ore chest.

Is there anyway to get the cart to wait until it has at least 16 items before it goes? Trying to set up a hopper line to load the input and fuel chests, but the hoppers are too slow for the minecart!

Im running into a problem where the minecart gets stuck under the chest, so it wont load or go to fill up the furnaces. Any idea why this would happen? Happens very often
