    There was a time when AC Nielsen used to conduct retail audit for the FMCG brands it said that Traditional trade channel is the highest numeric universe contributor and played an important role to increase availability in the trade channel. Our emerging brands try to develop numeric distribution but can't maintain the number of outlets handling their SKUs. They focus on high volume contributor weighted outlets that's a higher cost of sales channel required heavy induction fee primary and secondary display rentals visibility pay outs this is a basic requirement for perfect stores to increase share in category sales. However, big brands can easily afford these channels but emerging brands can't afford it so they have a very less share of shelves as a result try to imitate leader brands unfortunately it leads to failure.

      @@salmanatique6823 Well, interesting point. We have to decide first what exactly we need: a). Data (Primary / Secondary) b). Interpretation Quality and relevance of data help you make right decisions. For sure, subject expert ( AC Nielsen) may provide you more relevant stuff. Even I know some professionals raised brutal remarks on data providers. Q:- Can't I produce data by my own..... ? A:- YES, You can. All you need is the data that provides you direction. You may fetch it by your own. It all depends upon how much tolerance zone you can afford while making decision based on the data. Second important thing is Interpretation.
