Gibson Custom Shop 1957 SJ-200
This 2024 Gibson Custom Shop 1957 SJ-200 is in like new condition with no signs of play wear. Serial number 20744021. The Super Jumbo body acoustic features hand-selected flamed maple for the back and sides, an ultra-vintage headstock "stinger," and a Thermally Aged Sitka spruce top. The solid spruce top is paired with beautiful flame maple back and sides for a stellar tonewood pairing that delivers big, rich tone and incredible volume. Hand scalloped X bracing with hide glue. A gorgeous 2-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard also offers impeccable playability and feel. Mother-of-pearl crown fretboard inlays. Do you hear the different “bell” overtone, mb similar to using a slide? I just repaired a 70s Paesold that has that quality. I suspect wood choice of the neck, but I’ve got no proof of that.

No, it's actually a grand concert size. It is much larger than a parlor guitar with a lower bout of 14.5" and a scale length of 26.5". A parlor guitar would have a lower bout width of less than 13.0" and a shorter scale length...

You are fantastic. The guitar is amazing and gorgeous.
Seems the luthier has done great job, Kremonas are usualy out of tune and sound awful. PLayed many in Bulgaria and all are the sam from that age. New Kremonas are better but still worse than china middle class guitars. Wonder how you got it in USA?
We rebuilt this one including reshaping of the bracing. It was actually bought from soemone in Ukrain.
Do you prefer the sg or hg series for versatility ? Also do you prefer rosewood or mahogany ? I see you guys have a mahogany available.
It really depends on the guitar, the player and the player's style. Both series and wood choices excel in different areas so we can't really choose one over the other because it is a combination of so many different factors.
