OMG, that Kintra is a DREAM! I was set on knitting this pattern anyways but now that I‘ve seen your yoke I really cannot wait for the pattern to be released. Also, happy birthday! I love your podcast so much, you are such a prolific knitter and I enjoy how you present your projects.
Thank you so much for your kind words and birthday wishes!! The Kintra has been a joy to knit - can’t wait to see everyone’s versions once the pattern comes out!
I vote colorwork on bottom of sweater! :🤩
I think I’m gonna go for it!
I found your Penta Pullover on Ravelry and loved it so much. I’m so thankful you replied to my message asking about the yarn. I just received the yarn and it’s so beautiful! I was recommended your channel today and was so surprised to see YOU are the lovely person that messaged me back on Ravelry!
Yay! So glad you were able to get the same yarn! We’ll be twins! 🤗
I have handspun yarn waiting to be knit into a Nightshift shawl as well... was thinking it might be a good 2025 project.
Nice! Hoping I can get to mine this year as well :) may be a good craft night project!
Did you and your friends enter the barn where they sold food and kitchen items? I keep hearing about that barn and it would be great for non-knitters. (It's not where you buy food to eat there, but they had teas, pickles, jerky, honey, beautifully crafted kitchen utensils carved from wood, that sort of thing.) No, I have never been to Rhinebeck. I have strongly mixed feelings about going. I went to Flock in Seattle this year and that was ok. I also went to an Indie Untangled retreat in Mt Rainier, which was pretty amazing. But Rhinebeck... I don't know. I'm SUPER good at buying things and spending $$$ from home. :D
Oh, I also went to the Hill Country Weavers retreat in Austin this year. That was nice, too.
We did go into the food barn! Surprisingly, it was the most crowded barn of the day! I’m hoping to go to Flock next year :)
So wish we could visit! Would be the trip of a lifetime from England. I can dream 😌 Loved all your purchases. Those woven bags were gorgeous! Aa always a great podcast. Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you so much! Hope you can make it to the festival someday!
I was there! I just went on Sunday. I was staying at my moms and she lives 1.5 hours away. So we just drove up. Lots of things were already sold out and still crowded. But it was great!
Glad you had a great time as well!
Thanks, Sarah! I really enjoyed it!
Thanks for watching!
What a fun weekend!! Thank you for sharing your experience! I really want to attend!! I like that you shared about Sunday being a little less people!
Thanks for watching! I’d definitely recommend going on Sunday if you want to avoid those crazy crowds like I did!
What a fun weekend. I live in SW PA so it would be about a 7 hour drive for me. I hope to go next year. I love everything you did this weekend thank you❤
Thank you! Hope you get to check it out next year! It was definitely worth a visit :)
Thanks for taking us with you, Sarah. Congrats on the 5 year anniversary. May love continue to bloom for you both. Any fabric shops about there? I am a knitter, too, but sew more often these days. Not been to Rhinebeck, not probably ever going, too many long huge lines at the many national and international quilt shows I went to. Got my fill of crowds for sure. Got the picture so yo speak. And most in April, in Kentucky, so enjoyed the dogwood trees blooming every year (Paducah). Take care.
Thank you so much! Sadly, I didn’t get a chance to visit any fabric shops while I was there. The quilt shows you’ve been to sound lovely! Happy crafting!
Ugh I feel you on the Jessie Mae patterns, I've purchased a few but none have been successful FO's. Very unfortunate. And I hope the yarn dyer changes that scented wash, that is certainly an interesting choice to make...
Sorry to hear you’ve had some bad experiences with her patterns as well :/
I am going to a butterfly birthday party for a little one in Nov, that capelet would be a perfect gift or costume!
It would be perfect! It’s a really fun pattern, I’d recommend it!
LOVE the moth capes!
Thhaankkkk youuuuu
So so crazy about your sweater! 😍😍😍
Thank you so much!
Hello, what about the sweater you're wearing? It's beautiful!!What's the name of that pattern and yarn please?
Hi, thank you! It’s the Nebula by Andrea Mowry. The yarns are Miss Babs fingering weight in the color Vintage Library and Explorer Knits and Fibers sure in the color Skellig.
thanks for keeping me company while i did some sewing!! i always love seeing all your projects :))
Thank you so much! I just watched your most recent podcast - love how your Sheep Camp turned out!
@@sarah_seams thanks so much!! i will keep an eye out for you at rhinebeck!
Hello from Medina! Just a few hours north of you! Love the fixes on your vests…glad you are happy and will wear them now! That is what counts!
Hello! I totally agree - it’s always worth the time to fix the fit! Thanks for watching :)
I love the fade of the Moonflower pullover
Thank you so much!
Absolutely love the 3 scarves. Just beautiful
Thank you so much!
Aw Sarah, your socks are looking lovely!!! Thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 lovely podcast episode!!!
Thanks, Laura! Love how the socks are turning out 🤗
I love your linen quilt! You’ve inspired me to start hoarding my linen scraps for just this purpose. I always seem to end up at the Renaissance Faire on Pirate weekend… both in Ohio and in PGH! I’m hoping to got this year, at least once.
Linen quilts are the best! Hope you have a great time at the Ren Faire! I’m looking forward to pirate weekend this Saturday haha
Such beautiful works! Thank you for sharing all your crafting 🥰
Thank you!
Hello, I hope you are well. I have seen the videos on your channel(Sarah Seams Podcast). Your video is excellent but video optimization is very poor and no SEO score. Moreover, no rank tags and there are many problems. Your RUclips channel immediately needs to be SEO-friendly. I am a Digital Marketer and SEO Specialist. I promise I will build your RUclips channel SEO-friendly. If necessary, contact the number given in the profile or email. Thank you❤❤❤
Love to see your wips! I have far too many, (ambition always outweighed by lack of time) but it's always fun to see how many I stick at! I try and squeeze in sewing too. I've made 2 zwgather dresses which I love and am about to start a quilt. I'd love to go to Rhinebeck but it's a bit far from England lol. Instead I'm going to Yarndale up in my native Yorkshire. Very exciting! Keep inspiring us with your crafting ❤
Rhinebeck is just a litttlleee far from England lol Yarndale sounds lovely though! Happy crafting :)
Thank you for the sewing link, i really want to learn❤
You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy the videos!
LOVE what you decided to do with your frame sweater!
Thank you! I love the multi-colored versions too, but hoping this two-tone one will be super wearable ☺️
Sarah, your Nightshift yarn looks SOOO good! I love it! It’s going to be a gorgeous finished object eventually. Really looking forward to seeing your finished Curious Crop, a black one is a great idea! Thank you for sharing so many wips, I would definitely enjoy a wip parade. Also, I totally agree that Stephen West designs are ugly in an extremely cool way 😄 Btw, thank you for always including a B roll for finished garments. I find that super helpful and I imagine it‘s a lot of extra work. Thank you for putting in the effort for us viewers.
Thank you so much! Glad to hear you enjoy the b-roll 😊 I’m definitely planning to film the full WIP parade at some point!
Hi Sarah , your socks look great . I have both the summer Lee sock project book and colour work cuff club too. I’ve already knitted both the August designs and did the colourwork on 2.5 mm . I have knitted the luna sock and the trompe le monde socks from the book , love them all😊
Hello! Happy to meet another Summer Lee fan 🤗 I’m almost finished with the granny stripe socks and want to try knitting the other design for August as well! We’ll see if I have time!
Hi Sarah, I love watching podcasts with loads of wips, but myself can only deal with between 2and 5 at most before I become stressed lol. Your makes are gorgeous!
Thank you so much! I am also stressed by having all these WIPs haha need to start finishing some things!
Sarah, I found you through knitting but I really enjoy that you do so many different crafts. I don‘t sew or spin and I find it very interesting to learn about them. Thank you so much for that! I always think your projects are so well done and show how good you are at all these crafts, nevermind a fail like your Tolsta. I have started on winter knits as well, I‘m working on a black sweater and I figured now is just the right time to work on it with more daylight. Enjoy your projects , I‘m looking forward to seeing the finished objects.
Hello and thank you so much for your kind words! So glad you've found the channel :) Now is definitely the perfect time to work with black yarns! Happy knitting!
It was timely listening to your video today; I live near Raleigh and also enjoy visiting Great Yarns. Pam and her staff are welcoming to me. Lots of samples to browse! I need to check out Oak City Fibers soon-it's 20 mi away from me.
That’s awesome! I agree, Pam and her staff are lovely :) Oak City Yarns was wonderful! Hope you get a chance to check it out soon!
I'm surprised that the drapiest wools you've spun up are not next to skin soft! I've always assumed that higher drape = higher softness
I was surprised too! Those longer fibers make it drapey, but they don’t tend to be the softest so far in my experience.
I also recently got an EEW Nano 2.0 and can't wait to start spinning on it (currently been experimenting with a drop spindle). So glad to hear that you've found spinning on it so peaceful and meditative. Love all the skeins that you've shown and that gorgeous, yummy new fiber! Love your podcasts in general too, Sarah! Thanks for sharing all your makes :)
Thank you so much! I hope you have fun with your EEW Nano! There was a steep learning curve with it for me at first, but I’d never tried any type of spinning before. I’m sure having practiced drafting with the drop spindle will give you a leg up :) happy spinning!
Sarah I feel like your natural inclination to knit summer knits in early spring and start fall knitting in July/August is perfect. This schedule gives us time to complete projects before we need garments in those weights. I find that the summer knits take forever and that I need to start them pretty early. Then the warmer knits always come in handy at nite in early fall/late summer.😘😘😘
You’re so right! Trying to embrace that natural inclination and just go with the creative flow :)
Sara !! Your Kutar shawl is BEAUTIFUL!!! The marl on your lento is perfect . Have fun in NC
Thank you so much! Really looking forward to the trip :)
You’re nails are always so cute ,nice knits
Thank you!!
What a pretty top, it is very flattering and your stocking stitch is so neat. Love the design and something I would like to make. I’m from the U.K. and just spotted your podcast. I knitted one pair of socks and enjoyed making them. When I attempted another pair a year later, I just hated the process, so I don’t know what that was all about. I will try again, however. Just purchased the pattern for “that chicken” and have really enjoyed making my first one. Hasn’t it been popular? Good idea to use yarn scraps for filling. Tfs 😊
Thank you so much! Enjoy knitting your emotional support chicken 🤗
Your new (well, old by now) hair looks so good!
Thank you so much ☺️
I think I have to copy your Penta! It looks fantastic.
Thank you! We can be twins 🤗
Hi Elsie!! Another pair of magic loop socks?!?! yay!! Yes, everyone join our hot pink tee KAL!
What do you spin with? I use a drop spindle.
I’m using an EEW nano!
Hi Sarah, lovely episode, loved all your FOs and WIPs! Just a thought: for the sleeves in fisherman‘s rib you could just knit them flat and then mattress stich them together. I did that for the Lanark sweater by Rebecca Clow (both body and sleeves) b/c my fisherman‘s rib is very different flat and in the round. I found it worked well. 🙂🙂🙂
Hello! Thank you! That’s a great suggestion - I’m definitely going to try that!
The Alpine bloom is gorgeous, the colours are perfect, ❤
Thank you so much!
I love the myriad ways I get mentioned on your podcast 😆 never would’ve guessed crochet and bingo. Also I am about to cast on a hot pink tee as soon as I get something off the needles!!
Awww thank you for sharing this with us 😊 my mom and I are both crafty people and we love sharing that together too!
Thank you for watching! So lovely to hear that you and your mom enjoy crafting together too :)
It was so fun making this episode with Sarah! Glad you all enjoyed it! Thanks for all the kind comments.
Lovely to meet you Brenda, such a fun episode even though I am a very basic crocheter!
Thank you both for sharing all your projects! You've inspired me to try some new/different projects. Thank you for such a lovely Mother's Day episode!!
Thank you for watching and happy crocheting!
Absolutely I crochet! I think the attraction to Tunisian crochet is the simple stitch is square, something knitting nor regular crochet accomplish. I’m actually dismayed that crochet is having a fashion moment, as to my knowledge, no machine can produce crochet. That means ALL of it you see is done by hand. While we can do it for ourselves, or learn, I’m not going to be buying any crochet fashion. Thanks Sarah and Mom! Loved it, both of you.
That’s so interesting about the Tunisian crochet stitch, thanks for sharing! I completely agree with you about crochet in fast fashion. I’ve been seeing a lot of people taking up the craft for the first time themselves though and that’s been great to see.
