Thank you. Now I really want to know where you guys ended up. I saw your video that comes after this one, and I also looked back on an older upload and saw you guys counting in Thai. You may/may not know another sistah and her man left PT. Then they moved to Bangkok about 4 months back. I think she's at "talk travel eat." This weekend I'm writing an immigration lawyer in PT to tell her it's not her price that has me worried (high, by the way) it's the overall cost to come now. It has that bubble look, which you mentioned. It's feeling like 5 years back might have been the right time. I'm not talking culture, history, people; I would never try to judge those elements. Just the migration price-to-value aspect.

It seems like you guys live in outskirts of Cascais the main issue is you either live in the really expensive part of those districts , or what you get is an average neighborhood with a pretty expensive price tag . YES thats what an average neighborhood in Portugal looks like outside of Lisbon old town. Where you live it is considered valuable in terms of redevelopment because of very few sites good sites for construction mainly because of lack of urban planning and regulations, you just get surrounded with many small houses with no space in between them competing solely for somewhat close proximity BY CAR to the beaches around Carcavelos , posh neighborhoods in Estoril and Cascais marina and other gated communities like Quinta da Marinha where all the elite live. You unfortunately don't get what you pay anymore with all the hype that Portugal has been getting, but there is a few spots where you could for example be somewhat close to the beach and have good outside space and maybe avoid some of other issues stated but definitely not eliminate all. By all means, welcome to Portugal

In the UK we provide towels in hotels you have to provide your own personal cloths most people in the UK has what is called a toiletries bag with your own face cloth toothbrush and paste soap (hygiene reason), if you liked London try the rest of the country. The difference between UK and American food is there's a lot of chemical's in American that's banned in the UK and Europe.

We are a poor country and things are done with difficulty and it takes time. If you want to live in a rich country I advise the US.

The kids are real.....they are great. Just saying the prices are crazy across the world I think....we are all dealing with inflation. Close grocery is necessary.

You are near Tires that is not Lisbon and that is not probably the better place where you can be in that zone, You have Oeiras , Carcavelos, You have Estoril and Cascais these last 2 are the places where the prices are higher.

Man with that experience I put my shoes and run from there as quick as possible, If you want your kids have contact with other kids you must to put them in a School where they could learn Portuguese and make friends, The culture is very diferent here the people are more reserved but if a Portuguese say it is your friend you can count on him, The food is not Portuguese food here in Portugal we don't use the black been that is typical Brasilian food, In all the business in all over the world their are good and bad people, so you only pick up the bad people seak wit Alici From " Our Black Utopia " probably they could help you in some issues that you have. Sorry to inform your public, but there is police brutality, there is crime and there is racism, and lots of it. I'm am African American, but I lived in Portugal some years back and I found it extremely racist , especially against black people. When it come to the negativas in the US, I feel that there are many more positives. As a black person in the US , I feel like our possibilities are endless. African Americans can be anything they want to be in the US- that's not the case in Portugal. Look around and see what kinds of jobs black people in Portugal. Look around and see where black people are living. I figured out in a few months what many blacks might figured out in a few years. There is police brutality especially against black people and there is racial violence against black citizens. I've been criticized and called a hater because of my opinion of Portugal and the Portuguese people. They don't care for black people, Portuguese people are closed and many will not befriend black people. Those people who dont show up, is for a reason. I'm not saying these things to discourage anyone from moving there. The father has it figured out. What he's saying is not his imagination. Many Portuguese are very fake. They want you to think they're nice, but many do not like non- Portuguese people. Brother, your kids are intelligent, take them somewhere where they have a future. Those African Americans who are telling you that Portugal is a color blind society. Africans have been in Portugal since 1444, but they have advanced very little. Good luck brother!

Excellent video. I am glad that you mentioned the salaries here in Portugal. You spoke of the 800 euro average salary which does not allow the locals to rent in the major cities. Rents were MUCH lower just 6 years ago. Young people with doctorate degrees, however, can also not afford these new inflated prices. There is a crisis in the health sector now due to the lack of doctors. Many young doctors and nurses go to other countries because the salaries here no longer offer a comfortable life. This year many maternity wards have had to close for periods of 2 to 3 days at a time due to lack of doctors. Women have to be sent by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Recently, a woman had been brought to Santa Maria Hospital in Lisbon. It was too late. She died in childbirth. Emergency rooms in some hospitals also had to close temporarily. The average salary of a doctor is 3500 while a beginning doctor has a salary of 2700. These numbers are BEFORE taxes which in Portugal are quite high. These doctors cannot afford the rents that many people now say are low. They are not low for working Portuguese. Salaries in private hospitals are higher but the prices are also higher and one would need insurance. I would say that the majority of the Portuguese cannot afford the private hospitals. The government(s) ignored the people by not regulating the flow of golden visas and D7 visas. It's not just the rental market that has been affected. Anyone that saw houses prices (to purchase) 8 years ago would be astonished today. Thousands of families have had to abandon the major cities in recent years. The situation is dire. Young college educated people that have the means are leaving the country for work elsewhere. Many other things in the video I totally understand. Especially mold. Most older buildings are not insulated. Mold forms. I have gotten sick. Becoming integrated into Portuguese society is not easy. I understand your family's problems. Even after you learn the language it takes time. They are not extroverted like southern Italians or Spanish. They even have a saying ; "eu não dou confiança". Loosely translated, I don't give confidence or I don't trust. If someone hasn't given you "confiança" they will be externally polite and friendly, but you will not be invited into their circle of friends. It can be frustrating. I have been here for 37 years and am quite fluent in Portuguese. I am integrated so to speak but I know how long it takes. I can imagine that it must be very difficult for teenagers unless they are going to an international school and can make friends with other young people that speak English.

Wow I can't even finish the whole video. Because I'm tired from just watching and listening to all the stuff that is wrong. Tiny sidewalks no street signs no straight streets all the streets are curvy million dollar Apartments wow not a good fit for me who is somewhat disabled.

My kids and my wife are extreme introverts. I started this channel to encourage my kids to be better speakers as communication is the most important skill in life imo. Any perceptions of me talking over them etc is either to keep the video moving along or because they had nothing to say. 🙏🏿

Nice family, but seriously, you must come back and try other places, Crawley is NOT really known for tourism, or shopping - and there are much better supermarkets than ASDA - you should try Borough Food Market near London Bridge in London, that will blow your mind away and go to Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd's Bush if you want an impressive shopping mall!
