Jimmy Swaggart Interview On Jerry Lee Lewis
My favourite and always will be my favourite country singer.
He had spina bifida…See! Even the country legends that were around when he was around, aren’t fully educated before they start running their mouth about why he was on all that stuff! Yes, he absolutely did hurt his back in a hunting accident. However, he had already had back surgery and been diagnosed with spina bifida long before that accident. Facts!!
Btw, what’s the song @41:00 I can’t find the artist.
Ralph Mooney wasn't the only steel player. Yall need to chill out
anybody that even thinks they like country music past or present will understand why I've shared this....otherwise I've wasted your time. There are some great cameos in this video but it might take some patience for some.....I think it is worth the time...
Thank you, THANK YOU ! Carl is a legend !
Thanks for the video. I love seeing anything with Roy
Stunning!
Love it.
😂❤
Back in my youth my band got a new manager .. came from Arkansas. Either Charlie had the same manager or he knew him well and .. I met Charlie then just having lunch out at the homestead and just talking a bit. We were recording some of our songs in Memphis. Charlie seemed a true original, a super nice guy willing to talk to some young snots who didn't know too much yet about showbiz. I didn't know I'd had lunch with a legend.. til later. Quit the band, lost the manager but do remember meeting Charlie, he was cool.
Who was the manager
@@MichaelChris-u1w ... It's been so long can't remember his name.. or even his management company name, yet.. will have to ask old band mates. He lived in Horseshoe Bend AR. I remember Charlie though.
@@Carlsings Gene Williams?
@@MichaelChris-u1w .. yeah, that was him. We recorded at ACME Recording Studios.. I think it was a guy named Terry at the console. I'll ask my old bass player, his memory is better.
@Carlsings okay awesome
The steel guitar is t he most universal instruments made in the world. It can be used for any kind of music that has been recorded. In 1975, in Dallas Texas. At the WEST CLUB I attended one of the THE VERY BEST STEEL SHOW EVER PRODUCED......? REECES ANDERSON, CURLY CHALKER , JULION THORP AND BUDDY EMMONS PLAYED T HEIR BUTTS OFF FOR ABOUT TWO HOURS TO A SMALL CROWED OF THIRTEE PAYING CUSTOMERS AND THEY PERFORMED LIKE NO OTHERS. I KNOW THERE are a lot of great players but at that these were the players on earth....... Myself and 12 more paid to hear these guys play some of the best , JAZZ, ROCK, AND COUNTRY MUSIC YOU COULD HEAR...IT IS SAD THAT THE Y ALL HAVE PASSED BUT THEY ARE ALL PLAYING IN GODS COUNTRY NOW AND WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGH....THAT WAS TURNING POINT FOR ME, TWO DAYS LATER I WENT TO MSA STEEL GUITAR COMPANY AND BUD CARTER AND REESE BUILT ME A REAL CLASSIC STEEL GUITAR THAT I STILL PLAY TODAY.....PAID 850 FOR A CLASSIC STEEL. BUD CARTER WAS THE MASTER BUILDER AND 50 YEARS IT STILL PLAYS JUST LIKE A NEW ONE.........THE SHOW WAS ADVERTISED ON THE R ADIO IN DALLAS AND IT WAS THAT ONLY FEW SHOWED. TODAY, IF T HOSE SAME. PLAYER PUT ON ANOTHER CONCERT I WOULD BET A 1,000 GUYS WOULD SHOW. THAT WAS THE BEST TEN DOLLAR I HAVE EVER SPENT......MAY GHEY ALL RIP.......
What no Ralph Mooney? Need to redo this
Faron and my dad were friends from the Air Force I believe. Faron took daddy to Jacksonville to meet Elvis at that debacle. They used to laugh about barely escaping with their lives. Faron, at the end made time to call all his old friends and catch up. Daddy said he was grateful for everything but he was not going to live with the health issues and catheters and such.
Pardon my ignorance...who is the woman at 42:50? 😍
After all these years this is the first time I heard Mr. Bennett sing this. I've heard Mr. Williams sing it, maybe, a 1,000 times...
Legend 🇺🇸
No other singer like him and never will be. I truly miss country music and what it used to be. The crap they have today is not country at all
What a voice!
Love for these to be on tv
A great song sung from the heart Ilove to listen to Hank Williams thank you for sharing this song 🎵
👑 🎙️🎸🎶🎵 Never, nobody like C. F. R. I. P. 🕊️. 🌌 Thanks for posting. 👍 Peter 😎 👀 💨
Best for last 🇨🇦
What was the question?
I hear Hank Williams.
Jones greatest of all time it ain’t close
Ireewi
I live next door to George Jones in vidor Texas
He performed a show in Loveland,Co in 1983..He ended up sitting with us for about 30 minutes at our table..Absolutely a blast...such a sad end. Still listen to his music.
Some people said Buddy Holly popularize vocal hiccup technique but Charlie Feathers was the one who master the art of it particularly in his song, "Can't Hardly Stand It".
Hank Williams to this day is the greatest country artist to ever live . The G.O.A.T !
OF COURSE HE WAS!!
Everybody talks about how George Strait has more number one hits than any country music artist ever… and that’s true! However, what is also true is the fact that Hank Williams wrote 36 number one hits in five years all on his own!! All on his own!! In 5 years! Unlike George Strait I like him just as much as the next guy I really do, but he is not anywhere near the greatest of all time like Hank Sr.!! 🤷♂️✌️🙏
@coycoberly4162 Exactly - Hank accomplished more in a short 4.5 year career then most artists do in decades. GS although a great artist but Dean Dillion wrote majority of his songs - Hank wrote his own songs . It's irritating to me that on Hank's birthday and the anniversary of his death that Nashville doesn't acknowledge either of those days even as celebrations are held throughout the world by fans of Hank's. Passed away 72 years ago , the biggest funeral the south had seen until Elvis passed away in 77. Hank has influenced so many artists through the years and continue to do so - not bad for a poor kid from Alabama with a 4.5 year career. He continues to be Country Music's brightest star. Marty Stewart calls Hank country music's northern star..
We’res Leon McAuliffe
Don Helms is the true master. An old friend of Hank Williams too, he was one of the best.
Thank you!
Gary Carter
Do you know where we can find the full clip?
I interviewed Johnny in Fisher, Texas at Devil's Backbone club 3 months before he died. I dedicated my biography on the life of George Strait to Johnny. Johnny IS country music. RIP
Da ncetown usA
What I really hope is that one day ,somewhere ,I' m going to meet this great guitare player. thanks Luther Perkins......
If I was asked who are the best guitar players I have ever heard, I'd say Luther Perkins, Bo Ramsey, and Chuck Prophet. And I'd be asked "who ???"
DAMNNN GOOOD STUFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Julian Thorpe
Noel Boggs
Jauquin Murphy and Leon MaCauliff
Doug Jernigan and John Hughey.
Curly Chalker needs to be mentioned along with Tom Morrell.
Ralph Mooney and Lloyd Green were the best sounding players.
