    So this quarry is filled with corrosive metal items to make it interesting for divers with their oxygen tanks as a playground to explore, even the fish look irridesent ! The music chosen matches the magical surroundings very nicely. I am amazed the fish are still alive!

    • @divemasterzach34705
      @divemasterzach34705 8 месяцев назад

      Part of what makes this quarry so beautiful is the high volume of water entering the quarry. Imagine a sink thats over flowing. because of this, the water in the quarry is all relatively "fresh" from the underground spring that feeds the quarry. That being said, there are relatively low amounts of metal oxides in the water. A lot of the attractions are stripped down to their non corrosive elements however there are a few items still rusting away at the bottom. Such a beautiful quarry and the new owners of the place really know how to take carte of it.

    Hey! Also here, great video. But what is your recording setup! Do you have a headmounted action camera? And im really curious what you use for the vertical shots

    • @divemasterzach34705
      @divemasterzach34705 10 месяцев назад

      I'm using 2 GoPro 11's for these recordings. I mount a gopro 11 mini to my mask and use a hero 11 black for the hand held shots. The vertical shots are done by just turning the handheld camera to the side. The camera will automatically adjust the orientation. When I am editing the 2 cameras together, I use the audio waveform to line up the 2 videos so they are in sync. If you are going to run this kind of setup just a heads up that in warm water, the mask mounted camera will over heat if you do not lower the resolution.

    • @bartsprenkels6779
      @bartsprenkels6779 10 месяцев назад

      @@divemasterzach34705 That's awesome, thank you so much for sharing. I think I will consider going for a similar setup. Two questions that came up are 1) Is the gopro on the mask affecting your dive experience? Because I can imagine the weight on the mask maybe being intrusive or annoying - potentially causing leaks etc 2) What happens if the gopro mini overheats? Does it break or shut itself off or? Thanks again for your answer, I appreciate it

    • @divemasterzach34705
      @divemasterzach34705 10 месяцев назад

      @@bartsprenkels6779 There are a few things to consider with having this sort of setup. I will say with a traditional mask you can defiantly tell that the camera is there, however it doesn't take too long to get used to it. I'll recommend a larger profile mask to better distribute the weight of the camera on your face. Wearing the mask strap further up on the back of your head will stop the camera from pulling your mask off your face. Personally I am using an OTS Guardian full face mask that is secured to my head via a 5 point harness and with this I do not even notice the camera at all. Diving in warm water, the hero 11 mini will over heat if you do not lower the resolution down to 1080p. when the camera over heats it gives off a long beep before powering down. It will save all of your footage up until when it gets too hot. But I haven't had too many issues with over heating at lower resolutions in warm water. There are no such issues when diving in cold water. you get about 90 minutes of recording in 4k60fps when the camera doesn't over heat. typically the water needs to be cooler than 65F to avoid over heating in 4k resolution. the last thing ill tell you (and I really should charge money for this info 😂) is set your white balance manually. between 4500-6000k. ( I leave mine set to 5500k almost all the time for tropical water) the auto white balance feature will cause the camera to adjust the WB constantly which will cause your footage to switch between vibrant colors and monochrome blue. setting the WB manually will avoid the colors changing so much for no reason. But other than that you're just going to just try different things. Its taken me 3 years of trying different things to really get high quality video such as this. But this should be a good starting point for you and if you have any other questions you can reach out to me here or on my instagram @Divemaster_Zach

  • @bartsprenkels6779
    @bartsprenkels6779 10 месяцев назад

    Hey! Can you tell a bit about your setup? You've got one camera rolling constantly? I suspect a GoPro of some sorts? And than what are the vertical clips? They look sharper! What camera is that? Cheers, Bart

      You don’t really feel claustrophobic. You can swim wherever you want. Except to the surface. For the most part having a rope attached to you that someone is holding on to puts any anxiety to rest. And on top of that You can actually talk to the people on the surface as well. Knowing all the safety measures are in place really makes the experience enjoyable more than anything.

    So many little fish-amazing. They look like swarms of insects. When you are inside a wrecked ship, how do you keep your location. It all looks the same. No beginning , no ending. A marker that is a Tide bottle must have a purpose of direction.

    • @divemasterzach34705
      @divemasterzach34705 Год назад

      It is very important to know where you are in the wreck, its not always easy to know where you are especially when you stir up the silt. With this particular wreck, it is a barge that flipped up side down meaning that when you swim "inside" you are actually swimming down to the platform where the workers worked on the dredge. imagine your house flipped upside down and the ceiling is the floor. that's what this wreck is like. That being said the entire bottom of the wreck is open meaning that when you want to swim out you just drop down to the bottom and swim out. its also an easy way to orient yourself from the inside, kind of like looking out a window. from the inside, you can sort of see outside and you can use that as a reference to know where you are in the wreck. as far as the tide bottle goes, it's actually used primarily as a float to keep the rope we tie the ship to at the surface of the water and so we can see it from a distance as we are arriving at the wreck.
