I learned a version of this tune a few years ago but this is a new version to me that incorporates the galax lick as well as the slide with the galax lick. This has been really tricky for me to learn, so it’s fun to see it come together.

I recently got to see Gillian Welch and David Rawlings live and it was magical… for lack of better words. They were absolutely incredible. I absolutely adore their musicianship.

Newest song that I just completed tonight. I got this idea becauee someone mentioned how people would bring in gopher feet to the County Auditor to get a bounty. So this one is called Gopher Feet in a Mason Jar… look up MN Statute 348.13 if you’re curious 😂

This is a fretless banjo made by Cedar Mountain. I’m still getting used to playing it!

This is my first venture into trying to play in Round Peak style. While I don’t normally use tabs or books (actually I actively try to avoid using them) I’m learning this tune from the Brad Leftwich Round Peak banjo book. Now I just need a fretless banjo :)

I recently started taking lessons with Adam Hurt and I learned this tune from him. It is a tune by John Salyer. I still have work to do but it’s been fun. Adam is a wonderful teacher, musician, and person.
