27:59 well in case you don’t know, your power cord has three prongs, one for live, the other is neutral, and the last is ground. The Ground prong is the round point that extends a little further than the other 2, is connected to the metal casing of the power supply, which is also connected to the computer case, so your not damaging anything, all it does is to provide a path for excess electricity to go and protect your appliances from shock and a short circuit(in this case, a “ground fault”)

What’s more insane is there are literally instructions for every single part that tell you how to install each part. someone that’s never built a PC would be better off, going purely off the manuals. It’s like these guys had no idea how to do it and didn’t look at a single manual.

What’s insane is even if this was a good video where they did everything correctly, the editing is still sh*t. You can’t ever see what they’re doing. They tell you to do something, but don’t show what they’re doing or explain it. They skip like 50% of the actual steps like they don’t ever mention the standoff screws for example. There’s no information here even if they said everything correctly.

I was suprised at the reactions to the price. It's sad that 1000$ for a gaming PC is almost standard nowadays. Hell 1000 for a fucking GPU is becoming normalized.

as if all the overly complicated bad information and the horrible build order weren't bad enough, there's all the actual tricky challenges he just completely skips over. suddenly it's complete and definitely posted first time no cap. don't know where all those fans came from, but glad to hear that your power button magically works without plugging in any headers... but it's not that 13 people watched this and thought it was fine. that would be bad enough.. what actually happened is they struggled like hell to actually get the machine working, had horrible benchmarks in MSFS because it's built all wrong, recorded LoL with performance capped and threw that in as another "benchmark," and then deliberately posted a shite tutorial because they are shameless hacks working for Vox. then they disable comments when it's flooded with downvotes and people freaking out about how they're going to cause serious damage for people, then take a few more days before someone at legal points out that this is a not nice thing to do and they are forced to take it down because of financial liability implications. then, they filed false copyright claims against other youtubers discussing it, then tried to excuse the copyright abuse by calling one of the youtubers racist....

Let's face facts. Despite the age of this video 'tutorial' its an eternal gift that keeps on giving. If anything, it has riled up the smart tech people to post best practice methods for building bass-ass PC's. Best of al the critics are universally united in crucifying the Verge.

Genuine question. Why are the ram slots set up so that the slots are staggered for the same channel? Is there any reason its set up that way? Cause if i was a layman i’d think that the slots were meant to be paired together.

I remember watching reactions to this verge video back in 2018. It's how I discovered It'sagundam and I was also a complete novice with PC gaming🤣 It piqued my interest in building my own PC and I started watching other PC build channels and did research that culminated in me finally building my first PC in 2021. The reactions to the Verge video showed me that PC building wasn't so hard, if you just follow instructions and don't follow bad instructions😊👍

I think reaction videos with gameplay on it while talking on the background is the same level of cringe as the idiot building the pc. I don't know who that guy is but there are many as him, showing shitty gameplay, talks like a "bad ass" F this, F that and speaks over it.
