For example, if you have a sine function with an odd positive power, the guideline suggests keeping one of the sine terms for du, then convert the remainder of the factors to cosine.....etc.... I just noticed an error in the 2nd problem....the results should be 2(sinx)^1/2 - 2/5(sinx)^5/2 c. My apologies

5 Guidelines for Evaluating Integrals Involving Powers of Secant and Tangent. For example if secant has an even positive power, keep one sec^2(x) term and convert the remaining factors to tangents. Another example is if tangent has an odd positive power, keep a sec(x) tan(x) and convert the remaining factors to secant. Multiple other guidelines are provided.
