    Chris Haueters golden rules of grappling 1. Be the guy on top 2. When on top stay on top 3. When on bottom have a guard you shall not pass 4. Dont forget rule 1 easily forgotten due to the seductive, rewarding, and lazy nature of guard 5. Learn the rules so you can break them.

    Thanks! I have been wanting to work on my takedowns for YEARS and have had to plead with the ex wrestlers/instructors to teach us takedowns. However, it is has always been a rushed 5-7 minute thing. I am going to order this because of your recommendation so I can REALLY train my technique. Cheers!!!!

    Hey for whoever has trouble filling the hands and feet: get yourself a stick or pipe of some kind and use it as a ramming rod. I used a toy that had a plastic tube. And no, that’s not a bedroom toy….

    Brilliant review! I’ve got a Century 90lb Dummy but it’s a little heavy. I can’t get hold of a Speed dummy in the UK but I’ve seen a second hand 65lb power Suples dummy. Do you think I would notice much of a difference between the 90 and the 65? In other words do you think it’s worth purchasing the 65? TIA

    You forgot to mention it takes a lot of time to make it flexible and symmetrical all round becuse there is gonna be budges and more fatty areas by accident if you’re doing it with ripped clothes I just recommend you buy some shred up memory foam becuse you don’t want a bulge on his knee during stuffing and have to take stuff out to correct it when his opening is on his upper back or you’re arms gonna he fishing in there annoyingly for hours when you can’t see but only feel into it.defo took me a great time to get that even buff but all the legs and arms evenly packed so he has the density of a normal human.i live in a very rural place and none of my friends are into BJJ we had one class b but it shit down thank god for these dummies even more in quarantine with love from the middle of no where in Britain

    Shredded rags is what is recommended for stuffing a grappling dummy. You can also try buying a used heavy bag at a yard or garage sale for cheap. Gut it and use the stuffing for your grappling dummy. Jendila has the best canvas grappling dummies. Here is one of their videos on how to fill a grappling dummy: ruclips.net/video/MS9UK6f8UXU/видео.html&ab_channel=jendila

    Idk, technique here is to be refined, the guy can just base his hand in the sweep. Also, he should use body extension to narrow the guys base before the sweep. Good video quality, you got that right. For the reverse arm bar, the guy is doing it having his body parallel and close to the arm, that wont break an arm. you need to drive your hips away from the elbow, create a triangle for breaking pressure. Ive seen gordon's video and others, like Karel Silverfox and they have worked these techniques way more. Just my blue belt opinion, still, I use those everyday on higher belts. Also, please show the tap, because the guy had his elbow really bent, nowhere near an armbar, and yet, the guy stopped the technique. Even for the first, showing the reverse armbar from mount, he later ''forgets to show'' the technique, because its not flushed out.

    I have been working on different positions with the shoulder crunch. I find it more effective with shrimping out to the side with your elbow crease over the top of the shoulder with elbow pointing up towards ceiling. I gable grip and use my head to pinch there arm so it adds another layer of pressure to try and escape. It is almost impossible. I go for either the inverted arm bar throwing my leg over their back while using my other leg to push my foot against their opposite side knee or hip. If they continue to try and pressure I slip my opposite side foot for a hook sweep towards the shoulder crunch side. 70% of the time I get the inverted arm bar. The shoulder crunch is so effective. I would recommend all white belts learn this as it is a good way too slow your opponent down to help transition into your next move.

    IS there any reason to choose the leather version over the canvas? I can't see how it's helpful having arms and hands that are barely attached.

    • @samuraibrazilianjiujitsu9273
      @samuraibrazilianjiujitsu9273 3 года назад

      I haven't used the canvas version, but in general leather tends to soften over time, which is just a nicer experience. The hands probably won't be an issue, but the "shoulders" are definitely not designed for and probably won't withstand heavy use for very long. They arms/shoulders and neck are a LOT more flexible, however, which is nice provided that you're careful and don't go too hard on it. Because of this flexibility, the dummy is a lot easier to manipulate than your typical grappling dummy. You can actually do real triangles, omoplatas, armlocks, etc. You just can't go crazy on it. It's really good for "light" drilling. I wouldn't recommend it if it's going to have to take a lot of abuse. The Suples Dummies are really good for that kind of thing. They're great for throwing around, but aren't good for the finer type of techical work because they don't have any kind of articulating joints.

      @@samuraibrazilianjiujitsu9273 that's great to know, thanks. I'm not looking to beat a dummy up like I'm in an MMA fight. Just want to practice some techniques and build up muscle memory for armbars etc. Sounds like the leather version is better for that - would you agree?

    This new version is above and beyond the older first gen version. I have the old one and it's great for drills and escapes but the arms were the weak part (ripped in half under both arm pits) as was the neck (cracked). The bonus is the leather style is pretty heavy once filled and is very firm. I'm updating with this new style soon!
