Where are we, Jesse? The answer is not clear. In this film by Tate, artist Jesse Darling and a small film crew go on a road trip across the UK. Passing through seaside towns, container ports, service stations, retail parts and an abandoned airport, this is a journey that encounters at every turn the barriers and borders (both physical and invisible) of modern Britain. It’s a journey without a f...

Artist Ghislaine Leung takes a critical look at the ways in which art is produced, presented and circulated in this film by Tate. She has developed a process of art-making that is based on ‘scores’. These are text-based instructions or descriptions that are realised by institutions in close conversation with the artist. In the film, narrated by Leung, we follow the installation of her work Viol...

Amazing project ❤️🎶
Wonderful work. Thanks and more please !!!
Is that really the "best if British art" ??
Genius in marketing. I have that stuff in piles in my wood shop …
Pretend its art lol 😂
Surely she spent most of her life in st ives. ??? From 1939 until her death. Warren
This was good but way too small, insultingly small, the breadth and depth of her work was hardly touched. She needs a bigger exhibition in my view. she is still so underrated. She was a master of colour.
Beautiful
Literal Garbage
Disordered soul, disordered art.
Verstörte Männer mit lackierten Nägeln, die für den Dreck der zeitgeistlichen Eindrücke bezahlt werden. Vielleicht macht jemand sauber.
A long, LOOONG time ago, technical skill earned by commitment and discipline earned an artist the right to have their thoughts heard and appreciated. Now, having the correct, establishment friendly thoughts earns you the right to have your nonsense considered "art".
the world has changed, didnt you know?
By the number of comments and views about the building site in an art gallery, I'll guess that this exhibit has no effect on the culture. Zip. Zero. Nadda.
What absolute shite
How very Turner Prize. This is beyond parody. A classic left wing art establishment box ticking bingo exercise. No wonder the general public are so turned off by modern art.
what a load of crap
Brilliant work. Well done Jesse Darling, and a fascinating short film.
Yawn
yawn to your yawn... @@tastypymp1287
Oh dear! There is a pile of junk in my house that I was going to take to the tip. I should have entered the Turner Prize and hoped to win £25,000!
And this load of crap has won. Poor Turner having his name associated with this nonsense.
Absolute utter garbage.
Shite
well. Spirit is dead. Killed by the cold heart of intellectualism.
At least Duchamp had a sense of humour.
I can’t believe I have just listened to 5min of indecipherable, waffling, bullshit while watching some men playing with lumps of old pipes.
Sounds like David Hamilton. Done well for himself, now on Boom Radio🤣🤣🤣
Love all those changing tents! Anyone who has tried to change out of a wet bathing suit on the beach would appreciate them!
I dont know about this . Not sure about my thoughts. Is this about autism?
I hope the other offerings are better than this
This hasn't aged well - he's just won the Turner Prize
No, they were all garbage wrapped up in the 'current thing'.
@@05danmeaWell actually, it's ages very well....
Wow! A lot of anarchist black flags in the vanguard! 3 cheers!! Looking at the political scene in the 21st century, a lot of people in Westminster think that it is still 1939.
they may be Red flags, remember its black & white
@@matsand4719 There I was, impressed that Eastbourne was a hotbed of bomb-throwing anarchists. But you are probably right that they are red flags. Disappointing but true.
I vaguely remember going on the tram.
Crazy to think that no long from now this will be 100 years ago. Also, likely all the people in this video are all dead.
Apart from the boy maybe
Looks like an incredibly powerful show of the breadth of her work. Love the picture of the monumentally HUGE stone sculpture in the beginning of the video, very very impressive. Great curation.
Just read he lived in my village of Littlebourne in 1953, so researching his work. Need to ask about village to find which house... Shame I’m too late for a viewing of his work. Thanks for all the info.
🙏👏👏🙏
I went to see the exhibition at the Towner several times. I could sit and watch the Boulder film for hours.
Was born in Polgate, still love Eastbourn, hope to see it again before I die
Are you alive?
Iden Street hampden Park, year before this was made. Didn't realise the congress was so old

Music far too loud!! Ear damaging!

Looks like a very interesting collection of artworks. We'll certainly be along to see it.
How nice love watching old days no mobiles etc I think I would prefer that though internet has pros & cons but I miss old world I won't lie .😞🌞⛱️
guy in the middle looks like vodemort
Boring
they need something like this going up and down the seafront to replace the dotto train.
Wonderful.I was born December that year. What a excellent sharp film this is.
lovely do you have anymore of theses?
Some amazing memories from Eastbourne!
Even after Britain lost the USA ,they still managed to pull off an " Air of Confidence " !! " Last word in Modern design " , description for a plain looking Art Deco theatre , Ha Ha Ha !!!
Happy days! Where did it all go wrong?
@Peter Gillson when Britain lost its Colonies and the " Plundering " came to an END , Ha Ha !!
@@dominicr2001 The pier is still there, the theatres are still there, the cinemas have improved and the boat trips are still there only now they operate from the harbour which has restaurants and cafes.

Rip that
Two words stuck with me throughout this talk by Amanda and Jenny: Justice and Power. Particularly with BLM, Justce occurs depending on who has the power. The recent discredited racism report confirms this!
Communism was a big thing in Eastbourne. Engels lived here and Marx often visited. A lot of the communist manifesto was drafted here. Somewhat ironic that both men came from wealthy backgrounds but insisted that all property was theft. Engel's ashes were scattered off Beachy Head.
Still going on globally
