I got to practice on the US Pro Cup course before the race. This was after a big storm overnight. The trail has a solid base with about an inch of greasy mud on top. No issues with traction and should dry up nicely. Racing Cat 3 men 30-39. Dang man i live in Olive Branch Mississippi 10 minutes from Memphis Tennessee we should ride sometime ❤🎉
I think having pneumonia for a month is a good excuse. Right?
I personally would stick to Polygon Syncline as it has more trail geometry and totally worth upgrading. Similar price point & yes, you CAN run dropper w/o drilling the frame. You just gotta drill the hole from the upper routing as it’s got plastic tube running inside the frame & once you get the cable to not go into the plastic tubing it’ll go all the way down to the crank.
Hey Evan, new fan here. I saw the pack and harness you are wearing here, and I thought I went out and got what you had....thought wrong and now I can't find the video from the inspiration... I ended up getting the MSR low profile hydration pack and then the USWE chest harness. But apparently they aren't exactly compatible. What are the chances you can share the right pack and chest harness with a new fan?
Nice review. Thanks. U have M frame. Pls how tall are you? And your inseam? Thanks
Just put your seat at a medium height for all riding situations. It's a XC bike, you would be better without a dropper, less is more in XC
Steel is Real but have you tried Fly-tanium? I'll show myself out.
What trainer are you using with the gravel bike and 142 axle? Thanks in advance! Great channels
you should try connecting the bike to gta 5 if u got it so you can ride around LA virtually
Everytime someone mentions "honest" review, my suspicion goes on high alert
Thanks for this. I know you are busy with the family and earning, but just in case you get a chance to do it, I will second that motion to do a video featuring a dropper bar adaptation for this bike.
I looked up the syncline polygon and it’s not compatible with dropper post?
I have a bike very similar to that, get a carbon handle bar and lighter seat, don't go carbon rails on the seat, stay with metal, carbon rails break.
Just heard about this bike/brand earlier this week. If the quality control and build quality are top notch, i would definitely buy one.
I found the SID select fork to be pretty progressive, dont be afraid to run low pressures on it. I went down to 45 psi on my fork and it felt better. This is after going to the Shockcraft site.
nice video!
One thing worth mentioning re bike weights. Most brands weigh their smallest frame sizes and post that weight. So an average sized rider will in most cases be a little disappointed to see the weight go over what was posted.
You don't have to do the caloric deficit diet bro, just eat clean predominantly plant based, avoid processed food, one day at a time😅
Thank you for this tasty review!
If you will do really long product reviews, going to the details (good and bad) and maybe some budget stuff (for people like me) I will happily subscribe!😊 Greetings from Croatia from Kris 😎
Fantastic value bikes! Over here, these are being sold in the brick and mortar shops! But still offering fantastic value, compared to the Big Bike Cartel 😅 Less than 900€(Superior XP 909) for the bike with the front and rear through axles! Boost spacing,of course! If only the money wasn't tight 😅 Btw...NO ONE needs a Gravel bike! Decent lightweight hardtail is more than capable for gravel or any similar terrain! Greetings from Kris 😎
Im debating whether to get the Superior 929 lightweight Carbon or the Xtrada 7. Right now the price difference between these 2 is about 200. Is the 929 worth the extra 200 over the xtrada 7?
SOrry for replying a little late. But the Xtrada and this bike are very different. The Superior is an XC bike, made to pedal faster and not be super great with downhill, it's a zippy bike. The Xtrada is more of a trail bike, so decent at climbing, decent at downhill. Hope that helps!
This is awesome. Paused the video to subscribe. I love that you put the power, timer and course as an overview to the race. This really help me understand the effort that will be needed to do one of these.
Dude take your time and just get back to having fun making videos
Review polygon d7 please 🚀
@Evan, have u seen / ridden the full squish version of this bike? The XF 979 RC? I bought one a few months ago and it is SO good. Under 3k for a full carbon, dual sus bike, with full DT swiss suspension with remote lockouts (3 position), and essentially all XT build... it has replaced 2 of other bikes and become my only steed :) i shortened the stem, put some rekon races, and it can RIP down and UP any trail in the giant socal area
Awesome bike
great efforts evan...! good job! but what is swift....??
Nice ride and congrats! Smart, ride in riding your own race.
Let it not consume you or your funds, but have some fun and stay fit and exercise caution and show the way.
that is a pretty slick looking bike SUUUUUUP
You should try Voodoo Bizango pro carbon they are based in Arizona very popular in UK
The Hyper X Walmart carbon bike is probably the best value. Ditch all the components and build what you want. The frame itself is great.
Do you know the weight of the bare frame? I've been inquiring on numerous bike review channels, never got a response. Hyper Carbon 29er version 2.0 sounds pretty amazing. Checks all the boxes. Through axles, front and rear. Tapered head tube. Boost spacing front and rear. Dropper ready. So much easier to upgrade a value bike if it confirms to all modern industry standards.
@425superRocket I do not. I did weigh it when it was bare frame. If i remember correctly it was 2.9lbs but don't quote me
@@425superRocket I had it and an aluminum Kona Kula 26" frame. One on each hand and the carbon frame was easily 1/3rd the weight.
@@425superRocket I built the hyper X with thick slick tires for urban mtb. Not doing any jumps with it
@@travr6 Thanks. That is the weight I was looking for. If you want to build a sub 25 pound carbon XC bike on a budget a sub 4 pound frame as a starting point is the easiest way to get there. Sub 3 pounds makes it even easier. Even on a budget. Very few online bike reviewers will discuss the benefits of high end used parts for sometimes pennies on the dollar. Was that weight for the Version 2.0? The second generation Hyper 29er has front and rear thru axles with boost spacing, tapered head tube, slacker geometry, and is dropper post ready. In my humble opinion those are critical factors. If those above criteria are met, your upgrade options are limitless. I've got an older (2015) Trek Fuel. One model year shy of boost spacing and dropper compatible. With 100mm/142 wheel spacing, wheel upgrade options are severely limited. That spacing limits you to basically gravel bike spec wheels and a small handful of other wheels. My current wheels are 29ers but have an internal width of 19mm. Outdated. 25-35mm internal width is now standard. However, over the last year a few companies are offering modern wheels compatible with the outdated/obsolete 100/142 wheel spacing. Sorry for the excessively long winded reply. Thanks again for that bit of information. Kev Central was allegedly going to upgrade/review video on the Hyper 29er version 2.0 , but never did. He's got the original version and the newer drastically improved version. I've tried contacting him about it, but never got a response.
Been waiting for someone to do a video on this bike, and luckily it was from a great RUclipsr 👍🏼👍🏼
Well known brand in Europe. They make excellent bikes.
I was not aware of the second channel until now Evan got me good, yay new bike day, feel the same 18 tooth on a Dt swiss even though I run a Crankbrothers Enduro hubs 21 tooth wished they have a 36 tooth.
Hot take: a bike without a dropper isn't a mountain bike, its a gravel bike. (From a doofus who rode a 2013 gt sensor without a dropper for a decade...)
No need for a dropper on xc hardtail
Let’s gooooo It’s been a month baby
That bike is good value at that price! If you want to lose belly fat and bloat do a carnivore diet!
Parasite cleanse & tapeworms in the gut

I can't wait for High - Low, the original series is what got me into your channel. Nice to hear you being honest about stuff like the income and cancelling Unbound. Family first is the right choice. Really enjoyed this video. Felt like you'd taken me along for the ride!
Damn what a sick bike, I'd definitely rock it. But it's $2500 in my country
Hey Evan, I have seen a few people online with Bike builds that blur the line between XC and Gravel. Some with a small forks on a Gravel Bikes, some with curved bars on an XC bike or even just putting a ridge fork on an XC bike. Could be a fun build idea for you. Get creative or find out why some of these are a bad ideas lol.
You mentioned a couple of times about “The Main Channel”, so what’s the link to that?
Dude. Your son is adorable!
Hole on the other side of the headtube will be for rear brake hose routing if its swapped to the other side of the handlebar. Some parts of the world use that setup.
I don’t race or anything so I chuckle at any lightweight bike weight. My old steel SS weighs 29.8 lbs 😂. Drop bar MTB I ride for gravel bike is 28. Roadie is sub 20 but everything on it is carbon.
It is a carbon budget bike... being budget, doesn't make sense to upgrade it... and it really needs upgrades (hubs/wheels, dropper). After minimum upgrades, you are already in another price tear. The carbon frame weight savings are overturned by the components. Huge downtube (without compartment) and tiny seat stays to make it less stiff? Cancelled dropper routing port? It seems like there were some last minute rushed decisions or lack of planning on the project... or perhaps, this bike is intended for someone new and desperate about having a carbon frame... or just an alternative to the generic chinese online frames 🤷♂️ ? Good looks, though.
I’m so hyped for season 2 of the high-low series! You gonna be out a bunch at bike fest?
