I was at top of observation tower in June 2000. I filmed on vhs. I domt know how i can get it copied to usb or cd if the tapes still work. I recall commenting how the building swayed in wind and how horrendous it would be if they fell down. I was thinking they are very old no way did i imagine two planes a year lster wouid being them down. Im not agrwid of heights because ive done bungee jumping a nimber of times and sky diving however i felt uneasy and nervous being up there snd was relieved when i waa back down on the ground. Ive got awesome black amd white photos from lying on the ground over my jacket.

When you’re watching this, you almost feel like you could jump into the screen and become part of this pre-9/11 world for a little while.

Unfortunately, no one born after 9/11 will have the opportunity to experience the way life was before that day. On the whole it was much safer, people didn’t take themselves too seriously, travel was much less stressful, people weren’t as easily offended, it was much more carefree.

My Aunt and unlce where on the towers around the time this video was filmed. Crazy Timing since we are Austrians and it was their first visit to the US.

Harrowing watching that knowing that less than a month later all the restaurant workers you see on there will be dead with the exception of anybody who took a holiday on 9/11. So bloody sad. 😢

Every time I see a video like this, I think of the decision people had to make to jump rather than stay inside the towers. I was just a kid when the unthinkable happened, so I could not imagine the magnitude of the event. These videos help us to realize how bad it truly was.

It’s horrible how the plan was almost certainly in place at that date. Lovely innocent video. Just ahead of that horrible day. Vicious fanatic monsters prepared to kill anyone. That event shook me to my bones! Life was never the same
