Have you looked at musical multiplication from The Good and the Beautiful?
I haven’t, I will definitely check it out! Thanks for the suggestion!
@ you bet! They don’t teach number sense but music is such a powerful tool for memorization! My kids have liked them a lot
I can totally see that! My daughter loves anything music so this will be right up her alley!
Love resource suggestions thank you!
You bet! Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, you are so resourceful!
You are so welcome!
Thank you!! So helpful
Glad it could help!
Thank you for this review! I found it really helpful
Awesome, I love to hear that!
I love your videos! Thank you!!
I really appreciate your videos. Where do you find your used books?
Thanks! I usually find them on Thriftbooks or Abebooks, but honestly I just Google the name of the book and add used and it will show me lots of options!
Do you buy the teachers guide as well?
@robertgodinez9297 Hi there! Yes, I did originally buy the teacher guides used and ended up selling them. I honestly just didn’t feel they were needed for us because there was already so many good questions and writing prompts in the textbook and in the workbook. Hope that helps!
We have enjoyed the American Girl series which consists of the Care & Keeping of You (one for younger and a second for older girls), friendships and rumors, gossip and secrets. Great discussions going thru them.
We love that series too!! My daughter just got a new one this week that she really wanted called knowing what to say and we just finished the care and keeping of you 2 last month and I completely agree, loved the discussions! I definitely have been eyeing the friendship ones you mentioned, I will definitely put those on the list, thanks for sharing!
Have you checked ouf mint and bloom. They have art lessons around social justice
@@StephanieMT That sounds amazing and right up my daughter’s alley! I’ll definitely check that out, thank you!
This video is absolutely amazing!❤ My son is finishing his physical geography book rn and I am looking for resources so thank you!!!!!
Thank you! I’m so happy that this helped you!! I did add some more items that I mentioned in my January update (not that I needed more! 🤣)
Can you provide the link to the TPT multiplication you bought. I tried looking up the store and it won’t come up
Oh my goodness that’s because it’s from Etsy! Whoops! I’m sorry! Here is the link: www.etsy.com/listing/1788410082/140-page-times-tables-mastery-workbook?ref=yr_purchases
@ no worries!! Thanks so much!!!
@@Brewerhomeschool you bet! I hope it works out for you!
Hi, my son has a map book and what he does is he likes to color the country map like the flag of that country. I'm sorry I don't know if it makes sense😂 how I explained it.
What a great idea!!! I’m going to tell my daughter about that. ❤️
Hi, greetings from Puerto Rico, hope your doing well. I wanted to ask, if you have used Fix it grammar? If so, can you please do a review.
Hi there! I haven’t done Fix It Grammar yet, but it’s on my list to potentially do next year!
Nice, looking forward for when you do. Thank you ❤
Love the act of kindness jar idea!
Thanks! ❤️
Hey! Can you share who you purchased the Presidents’ Day unit study from? I can’t quite understand the name when you mention it in the video.
You bet! Sorry, I had meant to put links. So it looks like she’s now off Etsy as of just a bit ago and has a separate website for her curriculum. thevieccovault.com

Your welcome!!
Thank you for these recommendations! I just ordered Sleeping Queens and can't wait to play
You will love it!
I love Camel Up! 🐫
I absolutely love the Waldock Way!
I agree, they are so awesome and such a good resource!
My daughter really loved the book Odder and then developed a love for otters!
That is so cool! We have really loved it! I just love Katherine Applegate’s work. Also, I really enjoy your channel!
Just found you. Good to see you on here.
Oh my goodness I love your channel! You are the one who got me to use TGTB science in a secular homeschool. 😀
@@TheMindfulHomeschooler OH my gosh what a cool world this is when we can all communicate and share this way. We really liked it but it got squeezed out to make room for Waldorf. I wish I could do everything all the time. I hope to see your channel grow. So glad you are there. On a side note, I got a lot of thumbs down for that video! I'm not sure if it was secular moms annoyed with me for using Christian curriculum or Christian moms annoyed for the same reason. I never get feedback unless someone tells me. So, thank you 😊
@ThePattersonHomeschoolAcademy I agree! Homeschool RUclips has been invaluable to me! I totally understand other curriculums or styles taking over. It seems like a lot of curriculum is used in certain seasons of life. I was thinking of doing a similar video at the end of the school year to talk about our experience because your video helped so much, so I appreciate the feedback on your experience!
@ Yeah, I was thinking of adding a bit in my 2025-2026 curriculum picks video about the stuff we didnt use and why. It's all good stuff. Just new season. Best of luck!
I enjoyed hearing your reflections. Thank you for sharing 😊 Glad I found your channel! Agreed on your comment - being able to meet our kids where they are at is an incredible benefit of homeschooling. We LOVE board games. I highly recommend Racoon Tycoon. It is so much fun and introduces economics.
I’d love to know the activity cards you have. We love meditation. Joe dispenza is who we use
I love him! His book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself is what got me into meditating years ago! How cool. I will definitely make a video soon on all our resources we use.
Thanks for this. I’m still trying to figure out geography plans for my daughter that is 8. We were doing the US states. I want to also do ancient history next year so trying to figure out the best plan for that
Glad it was helpful! Ancient history is so fun! I think my daughter will be doing that next school year.
Thistles and biscuts has country unit studies its on etsy and they have their own site.
Little school of smiths has a master blog post about things they did when they did world geography you should check out
Thank you so much! This is so helpful!
Great update!
Thank you so much!!
Hi hope you're doing good, love your videos. I know you're a secular homeschool, but I would like to recommend you this Atlas, I think its amazing and its very fun and kids friendly. It's The Indescribable Atlas Adventure by Louie Giglio.
Hi! Nice to hear from you! I will check out that book for sure! Thanks!
I would like to see your Geography study. I've seen your student notebooks you created, but what is your spine book? I don't know if you did any in depth videos on this or not. For some reason, my RUclips no longer shows me the homeschool categories and to filter through all the channels I'm subscribed to would take forever to go through. My daughter should be in sixth grade, but since homeschooling her, she's now behind in certain categories. I need to get her somewhat caught up. Thank you!
Hi there! I’m sorry for the confusion on RUclips! Yes, I will definitely be getting a video out with all the spines I am using for Geography really soon!
I had the same narration problem. My children didn’t like it at all. Now we have an enjoyable discussion about what their daily reading and when they finish a book they write a short summary.
Oh bummer, I definitely can relate! Those are great ideas! I really like the daily discussion of what they read.
Homeschool life is a busy life. Thank you for sharing. Love the themed learning style!
Cool schedule! I love that. As a mom, it helps to see how much we really accomplish in the day. As a homeschooling mom, you get extra props!
That’s a great way to look at it!!
We are also secular homeschoolers and we also use Writing and Rhetoric, Mosdos, and Spelling-U-See for my 4th Grader. We just finished up Writing and Rhetoric Book 2. My sons loves Writing and Rhetoric and I too have noticed improvements in his writing and word usage with this curriculum. He loved Book 2 as much as Book 1 and wants to continue to Book 3. I will say there is a touch more religious content in Book 2 than there was in Book 1 but for us it sparked some good conversation so I didn't mind it too much. Great video!
Hi there! That’s so cool we use so much of the same curriculum! That is great to hear about Writing & Rhetoric. I was just flipping through the 2nd level and did notice some more religious content but I feel the same as you, I use that for great discussions! Let me know how level 3 goes!
Great info. Thanks for the update!
Your welcome!
So good! I love it ❤
I'm glad! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video!
My pleasure!
I love this, thank you for this info!
You are so welcome!
Are the comprehension and deeper thinking questions the same in the book and the activity workbook or are they different?
Hi there! I feel like they are different. In the textbook I would say they are more comprehensive questions and creative writing projects. The workbook has deeper thinking questions and some additional activities and vocabulary. I hope that helps!
Thanks so much for sharing. I totally agree, gratitude is so important in our lives. Would you be able to link the gratitude unit please? Thanks so much
Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry, I just realized I never linked it! Here it is! www.etsy.com/listing/1537213230/thanksgiving-lesson-gratitude And you’re welcome!
Thanks for the video. Great info!
You’re welcome!
It's funny (not in a bad way) how you say "it may not seem much" and here I'm trying to read through a series of 7 very thin books with my 10 year old😂 And also remember that in regular school kids are not even encouraged to read but only a few books or stories. In my opinion you're doing awesome. I wish I had started homeschooling my son earlier, or at least encouraging him to read more.
Awe, thank you!! You’re right, it is definitely all perspective! I feel you, I wish I had started homeschooling earlier too!
I currently work as a homeschool EA, and my grade 2 student has been doing copy work for at least a year now. The main things I used to have to remind him was to make the letters the same size and write them directly bellow. He used to hate doing it, but now he doesn't complain, and his printing has definitely improved! My own parents homeschooled me from K-7 back in the 80s, and I really wish they'd given me some copy work, because I've struggled all my life with making my printing legible. Even my kindergarten students now criticize my printing, pointing out when my 7s look like 1s, for example. 😳
Isn’t it crazy how much it can help!! Oh man, I feel you! My 4’s are often confused as 6’s. I wish I had copy work too growing up!
@@TheMindfulHomeschooler It also would have been helpful to every doctor who's ever written me a prescription. 😉
True that! Also for every attorney I have ever worked for! 🤣
Copy work is definitely a key feature to handwriting. Spelling You See was the best resource I found for this. We also do just a daily practice sheet from a Narnia handwriting workbook (print for my 5 year old and cursive for my 9 year old)- we are reading the series this year and it gives them something to do with their hands while I read. We also love Sherry Hayes’s writing notebooks to use with McGuffey’s readers and independent writing.
We are using Spelling You See as well for this! I loved Narnia. We are planning on finishing that series hopefully sometime this year. And what a great idea to do copy work during read a loud time! I love that. I tried to look up Sherry Hayes’s writing notebooks but was having some trouble locating it. Do you have a link?
I loved the tour!
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for this video!
My pleasure!
I decided to pre read The One and Only Ivan and absolutely loved it. I can't wait to read it aloud this year. I'm definitely going to check out the novel study you mentioned. My girls are identical twins...I'm sure they will love the last book in the series!
Twins, how sweet! Isn’t it such an amazing book!! Just definitely check out the novel activities for The One and Only Ivan. So much amazing things available, you won’t regret it!
I really enjoyed hearing about the books you read together. I have very fond memories of hearing my mother read "Where the Red Fern Grows" to her children many, many years ago. The lasting memories that Emma will have of your time together will be priceless.
Awe I love that!
Hello❤sorry to ask, but could you do a video showing what you used last year in your science unit? Tank you, love your videos and how you expand your units.
@ivetteechevarria9720 Hey! Sure, I can definitely add it to my list! I only did one official science unit for space and it was my first one so it wasn’t quite as detailed as the marine biology but I’ll definitely do a video about it!
Hello, you didn't mention anything about the marine biology curriculum, I would like to know how that is coming. I'm doing something similar to what you show us and I'm very excited about it. Thank you so much your videos❤
@ivetteechevarrria9720 Hi there! You’re so right, I didn’t, I am sorry! Thanks so much for watching! It’s been going well so far! My daughter is liking it and we are starting the 3 week Bookshark study this week! I’m not sure if I will be able to get it done in 3 weeks or if will take longer but I will for sure let you know in my October update how that went! That is really exciting! What are you using for your marine biology unit?
Thank you for your update, I'm using TGB, I asked my son what was the most he wanted to learn about and he chose corals, so I ordered a very good book about them. I also follow your recommendation on the book shark study, will be doing that too. We live very near the "Mar Caribe" since we're from Puerto Rico, so will be going there to do some activities. Thank you so much for the inspiration you gave us ❤
@ivetteechevarria9720 Oh my goodness how awesome! I’ve heard Puerto Rico is beautiful and what a cool way to incorporate marine biology! I love hearing what you’re doing! I’ll let you know how the unit goes in my next update! I hope it goes well. What book did you get for coral reefs?
We recently read and really enjoyed The Water Horse - very gentle, short Loch Ness origin story 😊 Also like the idea of using affirmations for copy work - thanks for that idea!
@al2679 That’s awesome, thank you so much for the recommendation, I will totally check that out!
Thanks for this video, didn't think of doing that unit like that. Will definitely incorporate some of those things with my son.❤
Let me know how it goes! It’s a lot but it’s added so much!
