My great grandfather x8 Jacob Pirtle was one of the first pioneers to come to Hatchie Town then. He acquired lots of land and they say that those bluffs were called Pirtle bluffs. There's a pond near the mouth of mill creek called Pirtle pond. He is said to be buried there on one of those bluffs in an unmarked grave. I have yet to be able to pin point the exact location. But they also say that the area he was buried at was a popular camping and picnic spot for many years. His sons also had their homes near there as well. Documents show that you could still see the mounds where the chimneys once stood. Would love to hear some feed back from you. I am tryjng very hard to find the location of my descendant Jacob Pirtle. Thanks
