Hello. I been in the process of entering college for Rad tech. Did you also take PAX (pre-admission exam) ? what are the study materials that you used to review and to passed the exam? thanks in advance!
did you have to do regular school work such as math , English , and history
U usually do . Very rarely can you find a program that will have those basics in the program. Other programs require thos pre reqs
I want to get into my school's RadTech program really bad. I have all my pre reqs done as I'm a transfer student, the only thing bad that happened is that I messed up and got a B in one of my anatomy classes which means my GPA went from a 4.0 to 3.7. I'm nervous now because I have 1 prerequisite class to finish in the spring semester as I apply for the program and I'm not sure if that means I won't get accepted into the program this year. Watching your video gets me excited since right now i'm just working as an EMT before I start going down the route of this program.
I'm currently looking for good schools in the dallas area for my x-ray education, and was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions, this has been a dream of mine for about a year, so I'm trying to make it come true, also do the x-ray schools require any specific pre requisites or do you apply and they teach you everything?
I know this was a few years ago, but I hear a lot of people say evening rotations.. I start my 2nd year rad tech program next month, and do you know if they had ones if you have a child? What if you don’t have child care for evening rotations?

I've been having a hard time choosing what to do but I think I'm definitely wanting to go into x-ray. I don't know where to start tho as far as prerequisites and stuff like that. I'm not familiar with some of these terms. If anyone could assist pls reply to this comment. I've already tried googling
i would contact your program advisor they can direct you in the right direction. it’s different for every program but prerequisites are like your math and english classes or public speaking. it all depends on your school

Hello! I'm planning to apply to a rad tech program next year but I'm wondering if there is any blood or needles involved? Do radiographers have to use needles to insert IVs or catheters and such?
it depends where you work. i work in a trauma center so i see blood and IVs a lot but i do not start them. some sites allow you to start ivs i think so it all depends!
You worked and did clinicals at the same time? I am nervous to apply to the program because I did not know if I would beable to work at the same time.... If you have any advice lmk!
hi! it was a lot at times to work and go to school but my job was very accommodating! you can stay on top of things pretty easily, just have to keep time to study :)

some were half a semester but most were 15/16!

its very important to remember the whole clinical experience is basically a 2 year interview! know your positioning and skill and stay confident! build trust with your clinical sites and use what they've taught you to gain independence and mastery. for me, the hardest part was the intense academic workload. i excelled in clinical but lacked in the studies.

Hi! I did not job shadow before I applied, but I applied to a student tech job once I was in the program for more experience outside of clinical!

How long did you take you to finish your prereqs? Or is in included in the program at least for yours?
i took prerequisites 2 years before my program since i was in a different major but they rolled over! you can take most during the program too!

I have a question for anyone in this field. How much standing, walking and moving about in a hospital setting do rad tech do in a typical shift? I'd like to keep my brain as well as my body healthy in a job that I will doing.
for clinical we stand / walk around 8 hours a day! lots of moving!

Hey! I am finishing up my prerequisites to apply for the rad tech program. I am most freaked out about the interview portion of the application. I am the worlds worst at interviews and fear this will hinder me getting in. Do you have any advice or do you remember any of the questions your were asked?
hi! congrats that’s so exciting that you’re about to start! we did not have an interview portion in my program, but i would suggest looking online for practice interview help and practice questions so you can get more comfortable!

hi! you can apply right after high school! i applied once i was in college because i changed my major. the major is radiologic technology, mines two years some are four!
