The dolls are cute🥰. I think you may have the arms reversed on the peach bottom doll. The ball should be toward the front with the curved edges(if I'm making any sense)🙂.

You just get a shoelace & put it thru the elastic. Then you can safely remove the S hook, poke the lace thru the neck hole & pull the elastic up into the head. Then reconnect the S hook & remove the shoelace. Not that hard. I made my own 30 cm smart doll w/regular size head this way. Works fine.👍
