#6, Cottonmouths have fangs dripping with venom that can kill your ass. Water snakes don’t .
You haven't seen water-snakes in my area!!! I was drift fishing on river/ island>island, drifting near bank, piloting my boat by tree-limb grabbing. Went to grab limb, hand almost onnit, when this water-snake raised to warn me that it was HIS LIMB!! That rascal was thick as my forearm, & 4.5 feet long!! Biggest I've seen in 50 years!! He WAS NOT THIN/SKINNY!!
Wa! Wa! *EURP!*
Sounds like when wifey wants snacks
They sound like 🍑 💨
Is it invasive?
Yes, but I didn't know that until after I saved it.
Whoops
It's whiskers don't hurt trust me it's just a mith
@@Fly-12347 Turns out I did not know a little about Catfish lol
𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚕𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚜𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚙 a little it got me one time so be careful.
This is NOT a turtle, it's a tortoise.
It's a box turtle
Great job 🙏💯 goodluck to the both of you 😁
"But I paid for my ticket"
Poor guy - good karma for you, boss 🐢
I actually feed brown anole to my racer so u aren’t lying 😂
Nice
Cotton mouth have triangular shape heads and water snakes have rounder heads
How far do you live from where you found it? Ideally, box turtles should be released close to their home range, otherwise they may die of stress or get hit by a car on their journey back.
About 10 miles away. It was stuck in a fenced in field with runways around it, so it needed to be relocated. It won't run into any cars where I put it, hopefully it doesn't get stressed out in a new environment. At least it has everything it needs to survive. In the future, I'll relocate them closer to the spot I found them if necessary.
@@hylaherping9180 Ok, 10 miles is probably farther than its home range. There’s a chance it will try to travel back to the airport, but hopefully it can adapt to its new environment
Maybe he finds that female and the stress scales get balanced 😉😜
You always move them the way they are going, so next time throw him over the fence
Good on ya
😢 so cute 🥺🥺🥰
Adorable baby snake ❤
He's trying his best 😂
You said, "I love Rat snakes." But I heard "Baby Diamondback Rattle Snake is gonna break skin and murder, death, kill me.🐍"
You really need to stay away from Australia, little ones like that are worse than the fully grown ones, remembering most of them here will make it a very bad day for you.
Good thing I'm in Florida
@@hylaherping9180 Isn't that the state with a boa constrictor problem?
@crazyt1ger08 Burmese Pythons, but yeah. They don't live around me though. Only in Southern Florida. I'm in central Florida.
just trying to swallow hand....nope...maybe with an other spot...nah....
I thought he had two heads at the start
i thought bro had 2 heads
same
The road isnt safe so let me put you on the other side but still on the edge of the road cause thats better 😂
It got itself off afterwards
he was the cutest thing i've ever seen 😭
aren't baby rattlesnakes more venomous than adults???
it’s a ratsnake, we get them a lot they’re good snakes.
@@famishednations2464 ah
@@NuclearNeutron9 I initially read it as rattlesnake too! 😆
The danger is about the same, but baby Rattlesnakes are more likely to inject more venom than adults. But as others have said, this is a Ratsnake. Completely harmless.
Your thinking about scorpions
I'm a little amazed that you got to pick him up before he started to try to bite you. Most of the time those snakes don't bite very much, especially if you've already got them in your hands first without being struck. Hmm
He doesn't like how you were holding him
You need to master the power of the yoink, like FishingGarrett

Dude I was literally wondering how to tell the difference earlier today. And then boom. This came on. Thank you for making this.
You are assuming I would get close enough to notice these differences???
You can also do a water snake grab test. If it bites you and you have extreme swelling and pain around the bite site, it’s a cottonmouth.
I'm not getting that close
Tell me who is going to check these id methods
So cute!!!
I like to get really close so I can stare em in the eye.😮😅
Yikes
You can actually touch them with your bare hands. They don’t carry any diseases or chemicals. But sometimes predators get in to them.
The water snake looks all cute and happy While the cotton mouth snake looks angry
Where was this video when the Wattersons needed it most?
You should have added a sixth way the easiest way to identify the two from each other is when they're swimming a cottonmouth swims completely on top of the water with its head tilted at a 45° angle almost the entire time the only thing a water snake has above the water is its head
😢
i love how every single comment is about tmnt
#4 the "eye stripe" is the best and safest way to identify the water moccasin. They are born with the distinctive stripes and die with them. Look like a raccoon
Cottonmouths are gorgeous snakes, most vipers are though
ITS EVIL TURTLE FROM GUMBALL
Nope pupil shape is not a good indicator nor is head shape
Wear a glove when you make love... but why are you afraid of a corn snake😂
Cute little toad!
There is no mistaking a Cotton mouth
