Ok killing your own civ's is really fucking stupide even during a zombie survival. Yes their is risk that needs to be taken care of but when they are, civs can be a recruiting pool for new solders or produce you supplies as well as be a workforce. Killing them gets you neither plus more hostility from survives causing you to have more enemies when you could of have allies meaning more resources will have to be expelled when you could of gain them instead.

Focusing on a group of Marines (branch of military among others it is different as its sole purpose is combat & combat support). The Marine Corps is described as a cult or gun club. Know that the Marines (and I assume other branches) arent your typical Hollywood bone heads focused on orders and killing. We do all have morals and so does our command. If the order was given to eliminate survivors it would be to contain a threat to save others. Marines are among your most physically fit, mentally agile, and all around best choice for any battle scenario (especially when provided with a good Navy Corpsman or two). If there are living dead youd bet your ass the Marines will keep killin. Oorah. The only con to all of this is asking a Marine to turn guns on their family. Or eachother. When the world falls apart we (Marines) are human and feelings like any human may cloud best judgement. Nevertheless, a single Marine has the potential to clear a building. A unit perhaps a small city. And so on
