The car stands are in a terrible place for an emergency as for one the suspension arms are on an angle so Wouldn't even be grabbed properly by the stands and secondly would most likely b Snap.

I have a later, face-lifted E91 320D, M Sport, automatic, sunroof with the same upholstery. Mine is a 2017 car which I have had for just over 2 years now. I did like and agreed with your review, really summed this model up well. I don’t know if you still have it 2 years on - this is my eighth BMW and I think I am going to keep this one - it ticks so many boxes .

got the 2008. Bought it at 170k miles. Still going at 320k miles. Had 3 services and spent around 2k on it, bought it for 3k. Been a great car.

I've had EGR go, rocker cover leak, passenger occupancy sensor fail. Fan went. Obv few sensor changes and breaks needed doing. Handbrakes in them are terrible. It's a 2011 and had it nearly 2 years. Edit: and apprt from that it's been a really nice runner

These were reasonably good cars but I made the mistake of buying a used 1.6 petrol but with the godawful CVT transmission & I'd never buy any car with a belt & pulley gearbox ever again!

Good to see one of these again , very well kept , there,s quite a story surrounding them , those of you that can source one , read Tony Thomas's book , as after harry ferguson sold out into massey - ferguson he started again making little tractors as prototypes , standard motor company ones , quite well thought out but only a few made , collectors items now . The beauty of the Leyland engine is that it always starts , sounds great , & runs on almost nothing . Nostalgic to hear the Leyland cars theme again , thanks . ( we very much fancied one of these , but it became a 272 instead for 42 years ) . happy spanners .
