Epic!
Why weren't they any Gradius game on Sega consoles?
Konami doesn't develop much at sega consoles
@@uzziel524 Seeing how good Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps were I could easily imagine a fast paced, heavy action Gradius Spin-off or side story like Salamander on it...
The ironic thing here is, Gradius 3 would have been far better suited to the Genesis/Mega Drive hardware than the SNES as it was often the slightly better machine for arcade conversions. I had the SNES game and loved it, but had it been converted to the Genesis, it would have befitted from the 25% extra horizontal resolution and the machines faster CPU would have removed a huge chunk of that slowdown. It would have taken a bit of an audio visual hit but it would have been well worth it. I think had Konami joined the Sega party earlier, that software gap between the SNES and MD would have been far less pronounced, it's a real shame there was no Gradius game on Sega's 16 bit machine...
Awesome adaptation, pretty good
Egh. An organ on non-melody pattern sounds weird to me. Other than that, though, the sections that are very chord-heavy sound nice with the way you used the organ there.
This kills me, why didn't ANY Gradius game come out on the Genesis? It was perfectly suited and the Genesis had that great YM sound.
Sega genesis Wasn't powerful enough to run the game gradius 3 on the Super Nintendo was barely able to run it, they did alot of shortcuts on the Super NES to run it like the original arcade gradius 3 watch the game play on both the original arcade and the super nes.
@@lennell2007 Disagree. I had G3 on the SNES and think the Mega Drive/Genesis could have actually ran the game better then the SNES. It would have taken a bit of an audio visual hit, but it would have benefited from 25% more horizontal resolution and the machines faster CPU so a huge amount of that slowdown would have been removed. The Genesis was often better suited to arcade conversions than the SNES.
I agree, it was better suited to running the Gradius games than the SNES if the truth be told. I would have loved to have seen Gradius 2 or 3 on the MD, especially a specific Mega CD version for superior audio.
It likely had to do with Nintendo requiring exclusivity agreements on titles. The Genesis excelled at scrolling shooters.
I used LMMS with VOPM and the ultimate mega drive soundfont. I think the genesis can handle this because there are 8 instruments here not including the drum samples.
What did you use to make this, could a real genesis do this?
What! How! Yes! Awesome!
The percussion sounds a bit broken, but the rest is nice. Good effort. :)
@WolfCoder definitely!
You have to do Gorgeous Musical Castle (Stage 2)
