How to import sessions from the Idoru P-1
Просмотров 2165 месяцев назад
The Idoru software offers two convenient methods for managing your sessions. You can save a backup of your session on your computer as an .idoru file, or you can re-import a session directly from the SD card in your P-1. The latter is especially useful if you've made edits directly on the hardware and want to continue editing the session in the software without losing any changes. The Idoru P-1...

Another quick video to show you how the mixer works in the Idoru P-1 backing track pedal. I'm only using 2 of the outputs here but there are 6 available plus the headphones output. You can route and mix wave files to any output using the controls on the device. Find out more at idoru.live Follow on: idoru.live idorulive
Looks very nice, I wish I had such a device 15 years ago to replace backing tracks from Ableton with Laptop (and Mini Disc as a backup)! Not sure if the software supports flexible loop sections in the songs, for example: Press "play" button starts the song, then at the end of the song loop the last 8 bars. Then on the next press (quantized on one measure) go into next section of the song. And maybe also dynamically change the volume of the click. I did this in Ableton with some integrated plugins.. the quieter the backing track is, the quieter the click will be, so it won't bleed from headphones of the drummer into the overhead mics :D
What would you recommend for DMX control from the MIDI out? That's the missing link for me.
It’s a great looking device. Have you thought about doing one with more outputs? Our use case is running backing keys in stereo to IEM and front of house, click to IEM, but it would be great if we could have each members parts loaded so if they miss rehearsal we can still play their parts through the IEM. For but 10 or even 12 outs would mean we could have 1/2 for backing keys, 3 for click, 4/5 for live keys, 6 lead guitar, 7 rhythm guitar, 8 vocals, 9/10 drums, 11/12 for extra cues.
Just got my unit in Melbourne Australia. Got it for the six channels and the fact that my boss rc5 has to have wav’s added though an online boss app that sometimes works. Loading wav’s directly without an internet connection is now essential for me when considering buying equipment. The boss loading app It’s not reliable and so in my opinion the rc5 is not professional equipment. When contacted Boss were no help. Boss pedals are great for many things but their complexity makes them difficult to learn to program. This is an incentive for me not to use boss equipment. I’ve spent hours attempting to load a few wav’s onto an rc5.😡 Factual rant over. Please keep the idoru p1 unit software and hardware minimalist, simple and easy to use. I want to create and play music. Not need to be a sound tech. This unit I’m sure will become a classic must have pedal. Thank you for your great work.🙏
How do I create a Midi clock file for syncing tempo of external gear with midi clock in capability such as drum machines?
This can be done by adding a midi file to the song with the correct tempo, and then switching on midi clock in the hardware settings. The P-1 will then output midi clock at the desired tempo.
Where's this been all my life, lol.
looks promising, but I give it 6 months to a year before I buy something like this.
never liked laptops on stage great work
Thank you soo much!
VERY happy customer and user of the P1, amazing unit !!
You will sell a lot of these
Is there a way to LOOP a section of a song with this device?
Currently you cannot loop sections, but you can loop a song. So one way to handle if you want to loop sections is just make each section a separate song. There is a video from another channel here, where he is using the P-1 to also control lights, and has his songs divided into verse, chorus, with each one set to loop: ruclips.net/video/vjQFWZb9fWw/видео.htmlsi=eIllwWcwHiBeHg7G&t=1791
@@idoruliveoh I see. In my use case, looping sections is a deal breaker. Although that workaround would work most of the time, it would mean having to chop up songs into sections which is not really what I’d want to do. Thank you very much for the quick reply, and let us know if you add that feature in the future!
@@idorulivethank you for the reply! I was thinking you could even use the WAV file’s metadata for that, since many DAWs (Logic comes to mind) can export marker information directly into the file. That way, Idoru could easily know where to start and end the loop. Just a thought! 😊
@@agustinvolpe Thanks for the suggestion! Yes , that is actually how we are thinking of doing it too.
Look good but next, please add Tempo Follower features just like what Ableton live can do. Without that I still have to use MacBook
Simple,, to the point
Nice to see this going to market. I remember giving feedback on design ideas as far back as 2019.
Is there a rack mount version to replicate the Cymatic u24?
Not yet :)
@@idorulive My P1 arrived today. Great unit. I would be very interested in a rack unit to replace my Cymatic U24 if it ever ceases to work.
I was so disappointed when I saw that the Cymatic LP16 was disbanded, a multi-channel backing track player that didn't need laptop was a great thing... Wonderful to see that someone understood it and relaunched this idea!
Good luck man! I hope people will like it!
Does it have a midi sound module built in for the MIDI tracks or does it just send the data out to an external module? Also does it send CC messages? Would be awesome for it to switch my guitar effects on my midi controllable pedals.
It doesn't have a sound module built in, so you would send the midi from the P-1 to whatever sound module/synth etc you want to control. Yes, it can send CC messages. More info on it's capabilities here: support.idoru.live
Aaaahhh thank you guys i was dreaming about thing like that... samplers and groovebox aside we need simple song parts player without abletons etc. Let's just hope we'll get the desktop version
Well I need this dude. Thanks so much!
Wow! Finally free from laptops and iPads AND more than 2 outputs. Someone finally did it!
Looks really neat and it seems it works well, props to you. But I'm afraid not many will buy it. Why? Because it's custom hardware, running custom OS with custom software that you control. I can get the same functionality with iPad of my choice, audio interface of my choice (not limited to 6 outs), any midi controller that I like and any app that works for me (Playback or stage tracks) with sure, more tweaking at the beginning, but the result is more flexible system. I still however think that this product will work for some looking for all-in-1 solution and I can see it working in such scenarios :)
Main issue I had with iPads is if that there's heat issues , if you live in hot climate conditions it heats up especially during soundcheck and then its game over
Finally, many of us need this. Just get a good, cheap Chinese manufacturer for the price!
I don't have a need for this, but it's pretty great and could see how a lot of people will like to implement it
this is amazing! If there is a stripped down version I'd be all in!
Don't care, didn't ask, plut you put on the snare on the 1 you absolute imbeciles. Get a 200€ thinkpad and a behringer interface.
This just popped up on my feed and it's amazing! This is exactly what my girlfriend needs, but we're in a stupid country under sanctions, so we won't be getting it any time soon. But I wish you all the best with this product, it's truly unique and very useful.
@@paulhermansen6196 a night with yo mamma
Looks so expensive.....bdw nice product
@@paulhermansen6196 This product isn't for me but i get it. The point was NOT to run a computer. If you buy a hard drive that's meant to be rugged & portable, you pay 2 to 3 times the amount for it. Same with this kind of product. No BSOD, No audio drivers crashing, frozen DAW, no issues & that's supposed to be the point. I don't think you know much about audio or live equipment if you didn't get that. Watch some video's on Richie Hawtin's setup, then lets talk.
This sound pretty good and unique. Will they be any future update that use other source for data then SD card? (Also I'm in Asia I don't think I could buy it soon)
Which country are you in? We may make future products with other storage mediums, but the P-1 uses SD cards.
Very neat little unit. Nice work!
Will I be able to transfer files to the device from my iPad?
The Idoru software runs on Mac and Windows, so no ipad app at the moment.
I’d love to see these in an actual live gig situation
Should the 1/4” cables be balanced or unbalanced?
The 6 outputs are impedance-balanced, so you can use balanced or unbalanced cables. Balanced cables will give the best noise rejection and signal quality if you are running to a balanced input. However, unbalanced cables will also work fine if you are not going over long cable runs.
Very cool. Is there a feature to run effects IE: AutoTune, etc?
What cables work best for my outputs? I’ve been having issues with it only playing stereo when I half jack it :)
Can you please send us an email to support@idoru.live and we can help you get that working. The 6 main outputs are mono impedance balanced, so you can treat them as balanced outputs. Can you also please check you are running the latest firmware (3.09) available here: idoru.live/downloads
I would love to adjust the levels before sending to idoru but you got rid of the play and stop button
Finally someone who knows what musicians needs … I use Bbeat from M-Live and I like it very much but I’m not happy with the build quality of it … besides audio and midi , I can sync also video and other stuff like lyrics. This one seems more robust … the build quality is for me the most important thing …
This looks a very useful product but I would need to know how it handles a midi file. So first example on my Kronos I can have a backing track consisting a few wav stems and midi parts combined.
You can add up to 6 wav files per song, which play all together. They can be routed to create different submixes for each output if desired. You can also load a midi file per song. The midi file can have 16 channels, so different instruments on each channel if needed. You would create the midi file in your own chosen sequencer, and then add it to a song using the Idoru software.
@@idorulive Thanks for that, so just to clarify. Let’s say for example I have 3 GM midi tracks in a midi file (type 0), and 4 wav stems. The software will allow for all tracks to start in the correct place and the sound of the individual midi instruments will play and sound like they do in the sequencer.?
@@kevanbarrett7411 The P-1 does not have a sound generator for midi files, it plays the midi data and sends it to the midi output. So you would need to send that midi data to whatever you want to create the sounds. Alternatively you could bounce any midi instruments to audio, and play those sounds as wavs in the P-1.
@@idorulive Well thanks again. Yes recording the midi files to audio is an option, but at present we have quite a lot of midi files being used. So one last question then. From the idoru midi track, I take a cable from midi out to midi in on my sequencers and that maybe with a bit of tweaking at the sequencer end should do the trick?
Yes, if you send the midi from the P-1 to another device that is capable of taking a midi input and generating the sounds you want with it, then you should be able to get it working. @@kevanbarrett7411
A great device for touring. I am waiting for a version for a separate group of users , which interacts with the audience, for example, at worship and in churches. There you need support for at least 3 sections of the song: introduction, stanza, chorus (and preferably the ending). For this purpose, additional 3/4 buttons to switch between sections of the song would be useful. That way you could repeat the chorus several times, return to the verse, etc. Still a great product!
is the only way planned for unit acquisition for sign up? as in, is this limited runs only or will this become more widely available? are there payment options or upfront only?
It's available now from the online shop at idoru.live
Simply amazing, where can I buy it? Is it possible to easily pass music tracks between projects like, step on and it will play the next song?? What is the memory limit??
We are sold out, but a new production run is planned. Yes, you can use the footswitches to change songs. You can use SD cards formatted as FAT32 (32GB). In addition you can swap which cards you are using, so you can have as many cards as you like.
Just curious what is that white les paul looking guitar on this video? Reminds me of PJD but without its ugly telecaster headstock.
It is a Vox Virage
