Hal Moore - "Get Yourself Together"
Another N/S sound, a dynamic start, I really like the vocals on this, there is another version by a guy called Jayar, on the same label, which is more Blue eyed (that's how it sounds to me!) and nowhere near as good. I wrongly assumed that this label was out of San Francisco (Just by the name) it's actually a N.J label, and named after the president.

Up tempo N/S tune, frantic, with decent vocals, and even a weird ( Chandlers like) break midway , very catchy this one.
Scofield & Toffolo - "Poor Johnny"

Hmm... How do I describe this one? Soul/rock is probably as close as I can get, a touch of the Babe Ruth's "Elusive" but a hell of a lot faster, definitely different (just how I like it)
Crossfire - "Because Of You"

Soul /Jazz Mashup ! and IMHO, It works very , very well, and another self penned/released tune, and just left field enough for me ! Sounds like a Soul Duo, but who knows.
The East Coast Jammers - " Life's Little Games"

Not a out and out beach record, but a beautifully crafted, Soul groove, vocally so, so good, who were these guys? appears to be their only (self) released tune, such a shame.
Bill Thedford & DanniBelle - "Your Love"

Back to the gospel thread for this one, and a beautiful duet, vocals by Bill Thedford, and Danniebelle , both ex members of super gospel group Andréa Crouch & The Disciples, Sadly Danniebelle left this mortal plane on December 28, 2000.
Royal Masters - "Dance Like You Wanna"

Cross Over with a tough funky edge, is how I'd describe this tune, previously known as The Electrifying Cashmeres of "What Does It Take" fame, the group changed their name, after Don McClain left. It appears to be their last and only release on this label.
The Jaedes - "Uh, Uh, What Did I Do"

Superb single taken from their outstanding album, not a bad track on it! Such a damn shame these folks, only released one album, one single, for me any track on the album, would have been worth a single release, If you like group soul it doesn't get any better than this.

Very talented Singer/Songwriter from Georgia, probably better known for her outing on Homark "Burnin Hot " but it appears she really came into her own, when writing and performing on the Griffin label. Check out her duet with Reginald Griffin (The label owner)" Sending You A Message With Love" a beautiful slice of sweet soul.

One of the best and prolific producers around, friends with the great and the good of entertainment, produced music with Gladys Knight, McFadden and Whitehead, to name but a few (and that really is a few!) she only did a couple of things herself, this a very happy go lucky number, which only came out on the issue, shows she was also a talented vocalist.

Superb cross over soul, on a label that produced this one piece of soul magic from 79". This appears to be this Baltimore combos only release.....shame.
Orlando - "Am I The Same Guy"

Barbara Acklin, definitely not, but a male version/take on the Eugene Record/Sonny Sanders classic, not a bad job done, on this obscure British number fro, Brian Epstein's family label. (North End Music Stores) nothing to do with Brian , he had already passed, when this label came into being,
Lisa Carroll - "Don't Count The Days"

Written by the great Burt Bacharach (one of my favourite writers) and sung by actress Lisa Carroll, big 60's atmospheric production, just a very, very nice bit of British Pop. Incidentally the flip " You Made Me What I Am" was written by British Pop powerhouse couple Hatch and Trent.
Cryin' Shames - "I Don't Believe It"

A departure from my usual stuff, for my next few uploads, and a few of my guilty pleasures (secrets!) This a piece of obscure,British only Soul/Pop from 73', and Liverpool based band The Cryin' Shames...enjoy.
Martin Clarke Orchestra - "Eclipse"

Not British, but a weird offering from Australia, and an Instrumental to boot! Not a great fan of instrumentals, but this one was just odd enough, to get my attention. Quite a productive label in the 15 years it was around, mostly rock and pop stuff, but a bit of everything really. This with a flavour of the Pat Williams Orchestra, definitely sounds like it should have been a theme tune to a 70'...

Love this Dave… 😍
How did you hear this song? This is my dad. He is 70 years old now.
Lovely to hear from you, bought this tune the middle of last year, your Dad has a superb voice, as I said love this tune. Did he record anything else ? can't seem to find anything else he did.
Great respect to your father, may God preserve him! Could you tell us what year it is? It's been years since I saw vinyl on sale very expensive and I was curious to be able to listen and now years later it's possible! and the sound is incredible love from France!!
My uncle
Liking that Dave
Nice isn't it, there was one on Discogs last year, thought about getting a double, but declined, was pretty cheap too.🤔
@@daveyboy9125 I’ll be keeping my eyes open -if you see another let me know mate 👍

Recorded 9/28/1970, Sigma Sound Studio, Philadelphia, PA. In memory of the great Bud Ross: 1940-2022
Different take but same guys
Written and produced by the late great Bud Ross. New mix done from the original 16 track tape a few years ago here : ruclips.net/video/2461hnX5db4/видео.html
Do like this mix, seems to have a bit more meat behind it, not better just slighty different.
I like it! It reminds me of old school music 👍🏽
Fathers music especially when it's close to his birthday 1:31
✌️
It's good to know that there are people out here who appreciate my dads music. Thanks for uploading!!!
Such a pleasant vibe.

Thank you friend.
wow ! super fun
Thanks mate.
It was good to hear that tune again. I was the bass player on it. We had a good band back then, just didn't know how good. We thought time would wait for us. Wow, where did the time go? Miss Chick, he was a phenomenal song writer and singer. Keep the music playing.
It's actually Chick Carlton singing so it's not "blue-eyed" for sure, although the band was mixed race. Originally I was going to post it on here years ago, possibly 2012, however Chick had his own channel so I made him a vid, basically a rip of the song with a label scan, to post on there, which he did. It looks like the channel and vid have gone. Great tune and a rare record. Incidentally, the album, Wac-A-Tac, mentioned on the label was never pressed. Chick was going to re-release this song as a track on his album, 90 Miles From Vegas, but from what I can see that didn't happen, possibly because he told me that Doug Young couldn't find the master tapes to this song.
Fantastic info guys, very much appreciated, I was wondering about the availability of the album, so that's been put to bed! Would love to have heard the rest of the tracks, you never know the master tapes maybe floating around somewhere.
