Do me a favour that was terrible get a proper microphone, choose a better place to record in, mention the cash machines that don't take credit cards, coins/notes only, don't tell people to drive in middle lane - stay right. Never under take a car on right lane, more important do not speed as there are cameras everywhere

One thing I like about Italy is that you have self serve gas stations. Very efficient. Cassa= cashier. YES! Finally the correct translation!

Does the toll booth take credit cards?

  • @winwoodmayall

I find Italian Autostrada absolutely great! Only bad thing that I've sometimes experienced is traffic jams on weekends around bigger towns. Which are mainly caused, I believe, by long queues formed on manually paying toll booths. There are also ones labeled 'Telepass', which are the lanes dedicated for electronic toll collection. That means that you pay without stopping your vehicle, and those lanes are therefore much less congested. I've heard that you can own a battery-powered On-Board Unit for Telepass, only if you own an approved Italian bank account or credit card, which basically rules out us foreign tourists. Do you know if this is actually true?

Don't drive in Italy, the government are scumbags. They have cameras all over, and they specifically go after rental cars once verified. What this means if that you can be driving with the speed of traffic, and no one else would get a ticket, except non residents like yourself that are driving a rental car. In the end, do what you want, research as much as you want, but I guarantee that if you drive in Italy for at least a week and a half, you're getting a ticket for sure, because that's the way the Italian Government has it setup, they collect money from tourists to fund their failing economy.... That being said, it still is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, so if you CAN afford $250 (per ticket) average tickets, then by all means, drive and enjoy....

Unfortunately what you are saying Gaming God is totally not true. I've always rented and never got a speeding ticket. Most clients that I've worked with have always come back with zero speeding tickets. Not all but most. Yes, there are tutor speed sensor camera and yes they get speeder. Tutor works on the average speed and therefore if you maintain the 130 km/h speed you will not receive a ticket. As well by law, the speed traps have to be advertised and if you pay attention to the signage you'll know where they are. There are more foreign licensed cars on their highways than rentals, so for the government to go after rentals as you suggest is simply ridiculous, if not illegal.

@Italia Bound What I said is 100% correct, bro you name is Italia Bound, of course you would support Italy in this. I'm speaking from experience as well. You're not the only one with experience driving in Italy man, but don't give out wrong advice, and say my advice is wrong. To anyone here, you don't have to take my word or this guys word for it. Just go to google and type in Itlay traffic ticket or Italy speeding tickets and read for yourself. There're tons of people, who has clean driving records in their country, has driven all over the world, and yet the one country they have an issue with is Italy. There're people that worked for the Italian Government that backed up my point of rental plates, and here's a question for you: why are rental plates even different to begin with? Doesn't that seem strange to anyone? Anyway go do your google searches and read up, and see how many people with clean driving record for decades in other countries are being screwed by Italy's government on this one. Like I said, be prepared to pay, and it's worth it if you have the money, because Italy is a very beautiful country, but don't say you had no warning about tickets. By the way I have family that lives in Italy as well in my close and extended family, so I'm not just an outsider if it may seems so....

It's very easy, if you don't speed you don't get a fine! What does the fact that many people with a clear driving record get fined only in italy? You get a fucking ticket, there is a fucking photo of your car, with a speed, date and time, and thats it, nobody is ripping off nobody, it's just idiot driver that speed, and yeah we italian get fines, but we simply know how to spot cameras. And rental plates are EXACTLY the same as the others @@gaminggod7690

    • @PokojniToza1804

Or you could just respect and obey the traffic law and never get fined.

Gaming God so give us some statistics, how many rentals going above the speed limit get a ticket vs how many Italians get a ticket lol your rant is based on nothing but your personal experience, stick to the rules and you won’t get fined

Hi Davide, thanks for your useful guide videos. My friends and I will be headed to Italy again in February 2019, for our fourth visit, but this will be the first time I will actually be driving. First driving part will be from Malpensa Airport to Lake Como then back to Milan the following day. The second driving part will be a full-day scenic drive through Tuscany starting from and ending at Florence. I have driven extensively throughout Germany and the US, but not yet in Italy. Thus, I would be grateful for any further advice you might have for me, Davide. Grazie!

L'articolo 172 del Codice della Strada is the the law that requires the driver to provide child seats or booster for all children up to 1metre and 50 cm in hight.. A fine between 80 to 323 euro is imposed to the driver if such requirements are not met. Essentially the law is more concerned with the hight of the child, therefore if he or she is less than 1 metre then it is mandatory that he or she has a high back rest that meets the Italian road codes.
