I devoured this series and totally agree with you that it lives rent free in my head. It was such a unique and interesting read. Definitely one of my top favorite series of the year.

I will die on the Ravyn Yew supremacy hill ❤ A lot of people were saying that the romance was a subplot and not very important to the story, in my opinion, while yes the books were very plot driven, the romance was very important and nicely enmeshed in the plot Maybe it just wasnt enough "Bam! Romance in your face!" for people But I feel like it was just there all along without interrupting the plot, which I appreciated even more The characters actions were very much driven by love (*cough* a hand for a hand *cough*). They did everything for each other In the second book, while I really missed Ravyn and Elspeth and wish we got a little bit more of them at the end, EVERYTHING Ravyn did and risked was for her, he even says it at the end Also the writting style is just chef's kiss, so beautiful and poetic I am officially a fan of Rachel Gillig and pre-ordered her next book, so excited to see what she's got for us next I let one of my friend borrow both of my books and I am so glad she is reading them (she is really enjoying them too) but home girl is taking her sweet time reading them and I have been dying to reread them so I need her to hurry 😂

I’ve been meaning to watch your channel for about 4 months now and I’m so glad I finally did! I really like your style and I’m very similar. I’m also an extreme introvert and loner with plans on starting a BookTube channel. AND my aesthetic is the SAME…. Books everywhere, one shelf, but with several dogs rather than a cat. I recently read One Dark Window and loved it! Love Ravyn and totally agree with your reasons for why ❤️ Just started Two Twisted Crowns last night and can’t wait to see where it goes! I really like The Nightmare (his sassiness is truly the best) so I’m definitely enjoying where the story is going. Love the ensemble cast and family dynamics too!

You’re not stupid. I had the same experience where I felt lost a few times because of the plot building. But overall a great read.

I can relate to feeling anxious about showing my apartment in videos. It is old and in need of upgrades but I've made it very cozy and to my taste and I love it. Especially since I own it. But I still feel like people will judge it because its old and tiny.

I actually really enjoyed Vincent's character. I'm only just now starting this book, I just finished the first one. But I like all of the lessons Vincent taught Oraya and how they always pop into her head on situations. I think even his lessons speak to his personality and his life and concern for Oraya and her safety. I was so upset when he died 😭

Totally agree about the Emily Wilde series, it’s way better in physical format!! I soft DNF’ed the audiobook for book 2 in the series for the same reason but ended up reading it physically and giving it a 4.75! Definitely recommend trying out the series in physical format 😊

Ahh your review of Half a Soul makes me even more excited to get to it!! I gotta read it in April, haha. And I recently read and loved both Crescent City and Ruthless Vows so it was interesting to hear your thoughts! Totally can see where you’re coming from even if my experience felt a bit different. I’m reading the second CC right now and I’m not super invested or hooked yet like I was with the first one, so we’ll see 😆 And I actually enjoyed Ruthless Vows more than Divine Rivals but I think it’s mainly because of the mythology and magical elements being explored more than the romance, which is what I wanted in Divine Rivals! Love Iris and Roman but it felt like things happened too fast in the first book so I appreciated that there was a different focus in book 2.

Welcome to BookTube from another introvert. In my experience, the BookTube community is a nice and friendly one. So there is hardly any judgment I think. I did hear from a bigger booktuber (CriminOlly) that the only negative comments he did get were not from book people, but more from people who did get his video on their feed and weren’t interested in books. The comments were mostly about his teeth. So nothing to do with the actual content of the videos. Yes. lol. I also love the old professor look. But without the food splattered around. lol. But I do love cracked spines.
