So helpful! Especially the part about needing a business plan to do this... I didn't have one and finally realized this is why the embedding wasn't working.
Glad you finally got it figured out!
Glad you finally got it figured out.
thank you so much for this- seriously!
Best explanation I have watched about codes. Thank you so much!
Glad you found it helpful!
Pauline, hello. If I update one section, the one I copied to the other site gets updated simultaneously?
No, the two sections are not kept updated or synchronized in that way. Instead, it's like a snapshot of whatever the section looked like, at the time you copied it. Here's how Squarespace explains: "Saved sections aren't linked to the original section. Updating the original section won't update the saved version or anywhere else you've added it."
@@paulinewiles Ok. Thanks a lot.
Hi Pauline, is there a way to make the button open in a new tab?
Thank you! Do I have to add my domain? It was a pop-up on the ShareThis website
Yes - see approx 5:40 in the video
Very very helpful and easy to understand
Delighted to hear it! Thanks for the feedback.
Great Stuff
Excellent. Thanks!
Great video, thanks! What is your recommendation for the best way to gain subscribers on Substack? I like the idea of option 1 which I will begin with.....
Glad it was helpful! For various reasons, I don't use Substack for my own email list, so I'm not the best person to suggest tactics for how to grow.
Great video thanks. One addition to the video would be pros and cons for each, especially from the audience POV
Yeeeesssss! Thank you very much!
Thank you! Helped me a lot!
Nice Overview. 😍
Also, thank you. This post is extremely helpful!
I would like to offer an amazon link and a bookshop.org link for each book I list. Is that possible to do with a button just below the amazon block?
There's no reason why you can't add a Bookshop button... how you lay that out will depend on which version of Squarespace you're using, and whether you have the newer "Fluid Engine" (drag and drop) editor. In any case, be sure to check mobile view and tablet view, to make sure the right buttons are next to the right books, and this is a common pitfall when using Squarespace (I love a free tool called Responsively for testing different screen sizes.)
@@paulinewiles Thank you!
Exactly what I needed, thank you!
Thank you, this was super helpful!
Can this work on regular non blog pages?
Almost certainly, yes. There's good info here and depending whether you want it on every page or only some pages, you'll likely need to be on one of the higher Squarespace payment plans (not "Personal"): support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/205815908-Using-code-injection
Thank you for this. It was so much easier and a nicer set up then the other lessons using the commerce page and adding Buy on Amazon to the additional info link.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for your comment!
OH MY GOD you are an angel!! I have just waisted all morning trying to integrate Zapier and Substack and whatsoever... to do this. Why did I only tried the RUclips search this late... ? Super thank you to make this video !! Bless you xoxo
You're very welcome!
this was a great explaination!! very helpful!! thank you!!!😃
I'm trying to place the buttons in the top of the blog, right below the title of the post? Have you tried that?
Hmm, no, I haven't experimented with positioning. Let us know here if you discover something useful!
hey, so I was able to position it on top below the title and before the text body starts. You have to copy the placement code and paste it into a code block. You can place the code block wherever you want in the post. The only downside is that you have to do it manually for each post. Resuming: paste the head code in the Code Injection field like you are doing in the video but paste the other code aka "placement code" in a code block and place it wherever you want in your blog post. Cheers! @@paulinewiles
@@macluix Great! Yes, that makes perfect sense, that the code (sadly) needs to go inside every blog post. Thanks for sharing here, I'm sure this will be helpful for others.
Thank you, Pauline for this super practical how to. There is a shiny new Substack sign up form in 100% wide on my website from now on. Yay!
Delighted to hear it, well done!
Thank you so much, Pauline! This is exactly what I was looking for.
You're so welcome!
So helpful, thank you!
Great, glad you found what you needed.
Great video! As an Amazon Affiliate this helped a ton! I was wondering in your footer, how did you get the little circle "C" next to your name? Thank you!
Do you mean the copyright symbol? © ? If so, just copy and paste it into your text block; Squarespace should know what to do.
this was super helpful. thank you!!
BTW, I just liked and subscribed. I like the way you present your information step by step, and not in a rush.
Thanks, so happy to hear the slower approach is useful.
Thanks for your video. I like that your video and information are just recent. I have tried everything, following your instructions step by step, but I keep getting messages from ShareThis that my website could not be verified. I have a Squarespace 7.1 Commerce subscription website.
I took advantage of Pauline's Flash Sale, and I'm very happy with the template and Pauline's great service level. She delivered the template in a timely manner, provided ample resources and support for getting me up and running. Her tutorials are targeted in small bites that made walking through the process very easy. Additionally, her follow-up emails were just right, including some general information plus specific information for me as I went along. She responded to questions quickly, and I felt very well supported in my process. I highly recommend Pauline. She is very professional, and I plan to work with her again the future.
Yippee, you fixed the mobile view issue I had. Thank you.
thank you your awesome
Thank you!
Ah, perfect! Fairly new to Substack and couldn't find anything anywhere abour embedding. This worked perfectly. Thanks!
So helpful! Thank you 😁
Thanks!!!
super helpful! thank you
Thank you so much! Great video.
Glad it was helpful!
and how do i make unsubstack posts show up on my website
Depending on your website platform, you could probably do something with the Substack RSS feed: support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038239391-Is-there-an-RSS-feed-for-my-publication-
