hmmm this is a unique singing style that he developed it´s not wrong or right. he crafted a specific tone that delivered the emotion and appealed to the audience. the way he sang is maybe the wrong technique but it doesn´t sound bad at all. and that´s why nobody can sing like him and he is a unique voice. He himself said, a vocal coach admitted, that he thought of himself as an average singer. but I would reconsider what that way of thinking motivates you to do. if he thought of himself like he needed to learn new stuff all the time well that's why he did so many styles, and changed his singing approaches . he wrote in his assertion list when creating bad album: I will sing totally different than before , I will have a new style, new dance, now sound, I will surprise everyone by being unexpected - than he turned Bad . and from the first song bad, we hear something impressive. the vocals are maybe produced by painful technique but it´s not about that. you do what you have to do for art

There are singers who use tremolo as a style and it is not "wrong" it's just preference. Tremolo might not be right for a particular style like opera or 70's classic rock, but vibrato is "wrong" for other more modern styles. As mentioned straight tone is appropriate for some styles as well. All of these styles can be done safely.

Please, please, please...only color the end of a note that is sufficiently...'established' at pitch to warrant the 'additional' color necessary to continue to excite the listener's ear to 'attend', so that it doesn't become (unintentionally) discounted or ignored, or worse...a drone.

I just got of basic training 1 months ago and in army basic training you are required to have high level of motivation which means yelling at the top of your lungs and I hurt my voice doing it. My range has decreased I think or my voice just sounds different. I don’t know. I can’t talk for more than 10 minutes without going hoarse. Your videos definitely have been helpful.

She is singing in terrible environment conditions in the second one... That is why she is (smartly) opting for a different way of using her voice and opting down. She has sung similar stuff differently in other performances. It is also quite unfair to criticize her dynamics when you're only listening to the most climactic parts of songs.
