2025 Buick Enclave ST AWD POV cold Start, test Drive, and Super Cruise demo.
All new-for 2025, a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine replaces the former 3.6-liter V-6 in the Buick Enclave. With 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, an increase in power over the outgoing model, the new engine moves the approximately 4,500 pound Enclave to speed with just enough gumption needed. It took a little extra throttle to get the Enclave moving for passing purposes, but it never felt like it wouldn't be able to get out of its own way. This was supposed to be the electric car like the ev1, small cars to move you around the city short distances, now you have obese evs like the hummer
But, crab crawl and four-wheel steering 🥴
I notice under heavy acceleration it’s got a bit of a whine to it. I’ve got a 2015 wrangler and it also makes a loud whine noise when accelerating hard…is it normal?
@@ConnorFreeman-o9n I am not a mechanic, so I don’t want to provide incorrect information or say anything that would cause unnecessary alarm, but I can share what I found researching this. First, I found multiple videos on RUclips of Wrangler JKs between 2012 and 2017 that you can hear whine under hard acceleration in the upper RPM band. I also found a couple videos of varying model years where I could not hear a whine, but I am not sure if this is because the camera mic didn’t pick up the noise well enough or the noise truley wasn’t there. This Wrangler I drove felt and drove just fine - other than the noise in discussion, shifts were smooth with no clunking or slipping or balking. I did not hear any unusual noises while idling and in park. Of course, Wranglers aren’t heavily insulated like other cars, so noises are likely to be more noticeable. Some people’s experience documented online suggests that the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 tends to emit a whining noise and is a normal characteristic of this engine. However, other people’s experience suggests a variety of issues could be occurring that cause a Wrangler Jk to emit a whining noise, including the power steering pump (although this does not stand out to me as something having a problem in this instance), bad idler pulley, bad tensioner, or bad alternator bearing, but these items would more than likley be making noises if there was a problem when parked. Given that the noise comes in under acceleration, it could be something related to the torque converter. I don’t think a process of elimination would hurt here: have you had the transmission fluid flushed and changed and the filter replaced? I try to have that done on my personal vehicles every 30,000 miles. Are you at the mileage threadhold for the serpentine belt to be replaced? If not, consider asking about the whining noise (perhaps getting a video clip that captures the whining sound) and having the idler pulley, tensioner, and alternator looked at during your next oil change. If there are still any concerns, consider having the noise at the transmission level checked into directly by a qualified professional. In the end, if you’re not experiencing a loss of power and feel your Wrangler is otherwise driving normally and not shifting weird or throwing you any other sort of red flag, and someone else has looked into the noise and you feel comfortable with their assessment, then I would consider this noise normal until proven otherwise. Sorry to be a bit long-winded here but hoping this information helps in some way!
@ thank you, much appreciated!

@@r2ba435 truly! Basic, but super effective. Would love a back to back comparison experience of 3.5, 3.9, and 3.6 for 9th-generation models just for fun 💭
The 3.9 has 20 more horsepower and its transmission has a shorter final drive ratio, so it feels more quicker than the 3.5.
Nice drive. 🙂 Were you aware that you drove the whole course without actually being in 4WD? Centre diff was not locked. Engaging low range does not automatically lock the centre diff as in most other vehicles. Also, did they say what the rear locking diff error was? You can see the warning light flashing the whole drive.
Thank you! I honestly wish I had more time to assess what was going on -- the turnover here was really quick. 1). I had no idea 4WD wasn't engaged LOL. Frankly I was fooled the whole time because it handled all those obstacles with no indication of struggle (at least not compared to the other vehicles driven on this course) 2) I asked about the warning lights and unfortunately was not given any definitive answers -- INEOS product specialists were not on the course, the people that were on course were unfamiliar, and I did not get a chance to catch up with anyone from INEOS after this. Hopefully all ended up fixed 😅. Awesome to experience!

@@chiwashy8306 thanks so much! The color combo with the interior and exterior here is one of my favorites this model year. Cabin noise felt still at all speeds. When the Toyota/Lexus V-6 engine kicks on, you definitely know it’s running - emitting a familiar throaty yet muted hum - but the 404 hp of total output works quick to address acceleration needs and quiets things back down almost immediately before you even have a chance to notice. Wow that takes a long time for the rpm to go down!!!
Over 2 and a half minutes!
@@carappiehl If you'd tap the gaspadel ones, it'll go down much faster
I personally would advise against that, but I respect your position regardless. To summarize information from Consumer Reports, although letting an engine warm up to full operating temperature is not necessary, it is recommended that a cold engine have the opportunity to get its oil circulating prior to departure, and “not to rev the engine hard for the first few minutes of driving until you see the temperature gauge move off the cold reading.” As innocent as a tap of the gas at start up may seem, I worry about causing long-term issues. I’d hate to lose use-life on a good vehicle because I couldn’t wait a few extra minutes for it to idle down. There isn’t always time for that certainly, just something I try to be cognizant of when I’m not in a rush. www.consumerreports.org/cars/cars-driving/should-you-warm-up-your-car-before-driving-a5580016349/?srsltid=AfmBOoppQTf1foDTcBROQcVPQhLrE9mpLJHoa-PlMVK-AWWL11WNAzWy
