Con su brillante interpretación , Trifonov le hace justicia a esta genial creación de Schumann, una de las obras maestras más grandiosas de toda la literatura pianística. Sin embargo, debo reconocer que su versión interpretativa del final del sublime y celestial tercer movimiento, me parece francamente decepcionante.

It took me two days to digest the shock from watching this. There is a big misunderstanding by both: The audience and Mr. Trifonov. Every creature has feelings. It is therefore by no means an art to express feelings or to show, how emotionally blown away you are, from what you are doing on stage. Art is brainwork based on emotions, I know, that s not popular, but the mission, especially as an executing artist, is to find a way to serve the whole thing and make the audiance feel and be blown away. Why doesn t he trust the written music? Everything else is called therapy. I mean, he really scared the hell out of me.

Der Ausdruk, mit dem Trifonov spielt, gefält mir und ist sehr wichtig, um die Musik von Bach, auf dem Klavier gespielt, langweilig werden nicht zu lassen.

We all know by now that RUclips is a veritable Tabernacle of Good Taste, which would explaiin their willingness to expose hapless viewers to a video like this. . . one that's so hideous as to defy description; one that emits the foulest of stenches right through and beyond the computer screen. I don't care if Trifonov delivers the best performance of the Fantasy that even the composer could've hoped for, the pianist's brazen willingness to present himself in such a grotesquely monstrous fashion, knowing that this horror spectacle was being video-taped, is unforgivably insulting to any observer. But here's the kicker: All the 'observers' on this entire page make no mention of the pianist's ghastly appearance. . . none at all! Their comments refer only to his playing, which they (and I, for that matter) find extraordinary. Then why would an artist, who's well prepared to give an exceptional delivery of a major Schumann work, take pains to "fix his hair" this way? If there's some sort of "Lang Lang"-style facial "expressiveness" going on here, you can't tell, because the dreadful curtain of hair hides it! I don't know. . . is there some kind of cultish message he's trying to convey here, or is he trying to recall the "let-it-all-hang-out" rage from the late 1950's? Whatever his motives or reasoning, what he dares to display here is thoroughly repugnant and abominable, and given the chance, I wouldn't hesitate to say this right to his face (what I could see of it, that is).

Es ist, als hätte Bach schon damals eine von ihm erfundene KI benutzt, welche nach Vorspielen weniger Takte die Vollendung seiner grossartigen Werke vornehmen konnte.

As in the Mozart Requiem, it is hard to know where the composer ended and the performer took over. Maybe there is divine intervention.

I must watch this when I have more time. I saw a video of Trifinov playing a Haydn sonata. Perfect touch; perfect musicianship; miraculous.

Beautiful performance, but why to today's publicists and agents always try and market these artists as some sort of homeless/vagrant genius? Didn't we get enough of that with Glenn Gould?

Very fine execution of phrasing, tone, voicing and balance. Always a pleasure to hear Maestro Mikhail Pletnev perform. The absolute highest level of musicianship on display. The purest interpreter of Mozart I have ever heard. Bravissimo.
