After seeing the notes on Chilly Fox's difficulty level, I've got some Maverick Hunting tips for you who find him a harsh force of nature to reckon with! 1) In his first phase, Chilly always opens with a volley of arrows. You can dodge these with a well-timed jump-and-hover maneuver. Be sure to cancel fast, though! Chilly follows it up with a charge and his icy kunai! 2) Whenever Chilly makes a beeline for the other tree, he'll always leap upward to springboard off the tree. Make sure you don't jump at the same time to avoid contact damage! 3) The moment he leaps off, make sure you have enough distance, then dash _back towards the tree he leaps from!_ This is to throw off his kunai targeting and avoid him slamming into you. 4) Be sure to also hold a charge shot from time to time! Sometimes Chilly will blunder and like a real fox dive into the snowdrifts with his head first. This leaves him stuck and vulnerable for a free followup attack. 5) Once his first health bar is down and his second phase starts, be sure to do the same jump-and-hover you started with (but we also advise breaking it at the end by air-dashing), and don't touch the tree he's aiming for! Chilly's massive ice arrow will freeze the logs solid and prevent you from walljumping onto or from it. Remember his patterns from the first phase, and press on! 6) His ice shield requires a lot of damage to break, and if not safely dealt with, will slow your victory down. Charge shots help, but also luring him so you can fire off some Buster shots into his back should help. 7) Once his health is down and he's in his final phase, _run for the trees and_ *do NOT stay anywhere near the center of the screen.* Chilly's ice blizzard is so strong that it's difficult to suction yourself out from it if you're closer to him. 8) Once the old fox has worn himself ragged, _press the attack and do NOT stop._ He'll eventually get back up if you don't finish him off quickly.
