One of the first classic Manx kits built after Trousdale Ventures acquired Meyers Manx in 2020, this green buggy was shown at The Quail Motorsports Gathering 2021 before completing the punishing 1,000 mile race across Baja in NORRA. I live in Md and am looking to join a club of modified VWs . I'm building a car using a Berrin Buggy chassis and type 1 72 drivetrain. the body is a highly modified Austin America shortened and channeled. gastank is Spitfire. Is there one I can join ?

The price tag on this is comical. Myers entered the marked as an affordable dune buggy for the young generation of the time, a kit designed for DIYers to construct their own version of the myers in their home garage. The price tag on this new EV exploits all that is wrong with this EV generation, you say the word budget to them they believe it consists of vehicles 50 grand and higher. Perhaps this joke of a price will tank the Myers company.

Great idea, but wrong target audience at that price. $75k for a base model. No thanks. If you gander comments from all the videos about this over the last year, you can see EVERYONE will be disappointed in the announced pricing. Rich peoples toys. Extremely disappointed.

I will be right on it. In the South Bay as a kid in the 70's and 80's these things were a hit !!!!! I will love to drive mine around Long Beach and Huntington Beach once they are an EV. I have given up on working on motors at just over 50 and love the cheaper ownership and no maintenance now. Even VW is trying to make them also. Meyer's holds a spot in my heart and always will. EV West and Zelectric are amazing and prove it is possible and wanted in large scale.

@@StreetMonsterInnerCircles Having my very extensive knowledge of the parts costs ..... I would guess 30-40. The tub is amazing but NOT cheap. Ford is selling EV crate motors at $3900 direct so no need for Small Tesla drivetrains anymore. Hyper9 motors are what EVwest and Zelectric use and they are brutally quick and fast. The top on this is the kicker for those worried about outside parking in weather. Very well done so far I could not be more impressed with the working units so far. About $300 a month on a ten year loan. RV insurance and you are good to go !!!!!

perfect electric car. fair weather around town fun transportation. useless for hauling, towing and long trips just like every other electric vehicle but tons of fun to drive with no pretentions of being anything other than what it actually is. home run.
What you guys need to do now is build a brand-new gas Manx with your REMASTERED body. Then drive that around with Jay Leno. ...oh, and, give us updates on the progress of your Manx 2.0, please.
Use 4 wheels Hub from protean .. 2 rear steering in water given vvvv wheel grips as fin flappers with a fully Waterproof casing and wheel archs . Otherwise a connect to disconnect or hidden large RC boats thruster jet steering propulsion all in 1 or 2 lower bumper rear X 2 RC fans full on forward or 1 full or part turn turns. I'd rather have the fans to steer. Jetski Hyundai beach Buggy can go get lost Italy research and development institution
Just wish I made it into the "Beta Test" group. Looking forward to enjoying one of these sooner rather than later but I'm a patient man.

Me too - I'll be "kicking" one of our cars out of the garage (likely not my wife's). I'm with you Matthew - I'm not ultra wealthy but this looks to be a lot of fun regardless of if it's a bit pricey (for what it is). I may never own a motorcycle again (too many distracted drivers and my wife doesn't like to ride) this seems be be a good alternative and a bit more "roomy" than an MX-5 Miata so...

It will be street legal! That was an element to the original Meyers Manx that was important to Bruce Meyers, that we wanted to keep true to the new model.
Freeman was quoted as "it won't be cheap but it won't be expensive" IMO I think Meyers Manx won't know till they have demand and solid production costs. Your $500 deposit IS refundable - I just put down my deposit today and worst case (I don't think this will be the case) if I don't like it I'll put it out for auction - something tells me my wife and I will love this.
