Way of Comparison in a convo to express something is called analogy...... replacing something with something similar without using like , as ....and leaving others to understand called metaphors... While those both are similar, they both....creates different colours

This is really done at an uber-introductory level --- almost as though it's for people who have zero experience writing, or, who might not even be native writers. If you can do intermediate-level videos on all your topics, I bet there would be great interest in it.

Thank you for creating this - I've always thought of myself as a tough non-fiction (journalism and article writing background) writer and I'd really like to try different things with nanowrimo coming up but I feel like I don't have a clue how to write fiction. Time to try my hand at creative non-fiction I suppose.

Brittney Nicole, thanks. Memoir in particular can be compelling storytelling, but anyone with a sharp eye and passion for prose can bring a book alive. Magazine work is a good start. Lots of books have begun that way. Get in touch if you’d like to learn more. I began as a journalist. It’s all writing.

I also got my degree in Journalism with a large focus on article writing. I've always loved books and creative writing, but I also never felt great about my creative stuff. I mostly do it for fun. But I can see myself getting into creative nonfiction. Personal essays are always a joy to read. What a cool genre for peeps like us :)

I always come away with lots of food for thought after Ron's videos. This time I particularly noted the comment about three sentences in a row sounding like preaching.I always read my dialogue aloud and, boy, that really points out the bumps. I like to read plays - those by Agatha Christie and Noel Coward are my faves - because the narrative is stripped away and only dialogue remains (with the exception of stage directions). because it is a short form, a play can get away with all dialogue. But try to read an Erle Stanley Gardner mystery. It's almost exclusively dialogue - very tiring for the reader. Breaking up the text with a blend of narrative broken up by dialogue breaks the monotony.
