Using Tense, Choosing Person: Understanding Writing Options
It’s not a metaphor it’s comparison
Excellent, Lily X - Betty X would be so proud of you!
YESSS I LOVE LILY BOONE AT ONE PAGE STATION!!!!!!
I have a metaphor even the smallest writers reach the end of the page if you think you have infinite confidence you still have a braking point
Thanks, this is really helpful before my English language exam!
Way of Comparison in a convo to express something is called analogy...... replacing something with something similar without using like , as ....and leaving others to understand called metaphors... While those both are similar, they both....creates different colours
I made a metaphor once for my poem hehe- as silent as a knife
This is really done at an uber-introductory level --- almost as though it's for people who have zero experience writing, or, who might not even be native writers. If you can do intermediate-level videos on all your topics, I bet there would be great interest in it.
I wish Michael Chabon would consider doing at least one rewrite of his works.
The fizzy root beer of your delivery complements the garlic pizza bread of the material!
You have the spirit of this exactly. Your rivets of desire are aligning your practicing girder. Ooops, a little arty there. We've got to watch this sort of thing.
@@WritersWorkshopAustin thanks for the reply and sorry about the garlic. I realise that doesn't culturally translate out of my household very well, but in the estimation of my 9 year old son, it's a high accolade!
My India is great 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Canada geese, not Canadian geese. Canadian geese are geese who live in canada.
Not all geese that live in Canada are Canada geese, it seems. But they are all Canadian geese, as noted above
Thank you, this is gonna help me spit bars like lil Wayne.

This is helpful, going to try the exercise now! Also I’m a musician, and we always say “the re-write is the real write!” Thanks for your help!
That's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much!!
I have found my genre! Until today I didn't know creative non fiction existed. I'm a corporate trainer and I have struggled for years to find a structured way to use storytelling in technical training. I believe this is my next step in that process.
I'm glad you've discovered it. The narrative aspect is what makes it a great choice, since it helps preserve the writer's tone. Thanks for the comment!
Eye opening, thank you for this🙏🏽
I love your videos , they are so helpful. I like the way you deliver the lectures.

LOL idk why but the marines hair cut joke really got me

Great sir
Thank you
This was very clearly explained. You are a natural teacher!
thank you!
Thank you for creating this - I've always thought of myself as a tough non-fiction (journalism and article writing background) writer and I'd really like to try different things with nanowrimo coming up but I feel like I don't have a clue how to write fiction. Time to try my hand at creative non-fiction I suppose.
Brittney Nicole, thanks. Memoir in particular can be compelling storytelling, but anyone with a sharp eye and passion for prose can bring a book alive. Magazine work is a good start. Lots of books have begun that way. Get in touch if you’d like to learn more. I began as a journalist. It’s all writing.
I would love too!
Brittney I’m at ron@workshopwriter.com. We should talk 🙂
I also got my degree in Journalism with a large focus on article writing. I've always loved books and creative writing, but I also never felt great about my creative stuff. I mostly do it for fun. But I can see myself getting into creative nonfiction. Personal essays are always a joy to read. What a cool genre for peeps like us :)
Your guide is really helpful ^-^! Instead of thinking what this character looks & what this character smells, you create them based on their deepest desire, deepest fear, and deepest secret. I feel like i understand human better now. Thanks!
Very useful, thanks
thank you for this!
